Playing Airbender (Legend of Korra SI)

Chapter 137 137

Chapter 137 137

"He's dead," Tenzin announced.

On the other hand, Akashi put his hands in his pockets and watched the fallen body, thinking of future plans and some risks that he should manage.

One of those risks would be the remaining members of the Red Lotus Order.

And it's not just the remaining three, but everyone else who believed in Zaheer's ideals and knew where they were.

But to be fair, as long as they didn't target Korra, he wouldn't go after these people.

They were people with ideals, good people who hoped for the greater good.

And Akashi wasn't responsible for making the curtain system survive or thrive.

If he believed in something, the cycle of wars and peace would come to an end eventually.

After all, there was something like natural selection. Once everyone has a weapon to defend themselves, the aggressive people would be dealt with and wouldn't be able to pass their genes. Or they would win, and the peaceful people wouldn't be able to pass on their genes. Maybe the IQ of the people would increase and they would stop wars. At any rate, the cycle of wars would eventually come to an end.

'Remind me. I still have Kuvira, the final arc villain. Too weak, yet cocky enough to bully Korra when she's poisoned.' Akashi thought, 'If I'm not wrong, that girl is my niece-in-law… I see. As her elder, I would have to discipline her. Even though the curtain conditions are not in her favor to start a conquest to conquer the world, she's still a psycho who needs a reminder.'

Tenzin turned to Akashi, who didn't reply to him.

"You know you killed him, right?" Tenzin asked for confirmation.

Akashi nodded. "Why? Is it a problem and against the monks' way?"

Tenzin shook his head. "Although every life is precious, the air-nomads kill when it's meant to protect more lives. You've dealt with a very dangerous man who caused many of the White Lotus members to die while doing their job. Their families would see you as a hero."

Akashi sighed, "Phew… I was afraid that I would have to hear a whole lecture."

"Not really. I was just going to ask you to show me how you used that technique, the air slingshot that pierced Zaheer." Tenzin said.

Akashi raised his finger and moved it a bit. "It's pretty much simple. You create a vacuum and surround it with air before releasing it in one direction. The suction power would be enough to remove the flesh and bones… Though, I don't advise you to teach it to anyone."

"There is no evil or good technique. It's how they are used that determines it." Tenzin replied while shaking his head.

"This simple," Tenzin rubbed his chin, "To think that creating a vacuum can be used to enhance slicing. But it sounds easier than it is. One needs to control the air perfectly to sustain the vacuum. Not to mention, to shoot it fast is also hard while maintaining it."

"Guess I'm that good." Akashi replied, walking away.

"Where are you going? You've just arrived. The kids will be happy to see you." Said Tenzin.

Akashi shook his head, "I've some people to put in their places. Besides, I left Lin with my in-laws."

And after saying that, Akashi vanished into thin air.

Tenzin blinked twice, before sighing. "They are getting married after all…"

Akashi arrived back at Zaofu, where he had left Lin, with a bunch of documents in his hand. Traveling back to Republic City and coming here took some time. But it wasn't much when he could fly a few times faster than the speed of sound, and the air resistance around him was non-existent. Not to mention, he had high strength stats that protected him from colliding against anything.

As for why he came here, it wasn't simply to take Lin home. He was here to send a message. For someone, not to do anything stupid. No matter how crazy one gets, there should be a limit.

In this timeline, Korra hadn't gotten herself poisoned, nor did she lose access to the previous Avatars' experience. It meant that she was more powerful than in canon. And if Kuvira went on with her quest, the only thing she'd achieve would be destruction and mass killing before getting stopped pathetically.

After arriving by flying to the city, it was already night. The guards shifted, yet they recognized him as the flying man.

'Who needs a private jet when you can fly?'

Akashi thought as he was being guided to the matriarch house, which was more like a mansion.

He was welcomed by the family again, who then tried to take him to Lin.

"Well, currently, I'm not here for Lin." Akashi said to one of his nephews-in-law. "What's your name by the way."

"I'm Bataar Jr." He replied. "Named after my father, the patriarch." The man was older than him, and looked quite smart.

"I see." Akashi replied, "You're married?"

"Not yet," he laughed, "I'm engaged."

"I see. Who's the lucky lady?" asked Akashi.

"Kuvira." Said Bataar.

"Isn't that…" Akashi thought for a second.

"My foster sister. I know. My mother adopted her when she was quite old." Replied Bataar. "Fell in love, and all. You're not judging, right?"

"Really, me judging." Akashi shook his head, "I'm marrying to your aunt, with a 30-year age gap."

"By the way, what's that in your hand?" asked Bataar Jr.

"It's a bunch of bank documents and statements that prove my case against Aiwei. Though he had done the transfers under your father's names, you guys can use my data and track who used the city's money at that time, and who had access."

Bataar rubbed his forehead, "Really? Never thought he's the kind of guy who would work with criminals."

Akashi soon arrived at Lin, who had yet to fall asleep. It seemed that she got in a way better mood after that fight with her little sister. And then, there it was, the whole family gathered and talked.

They had dinner, and Akashi was invited. Of course, he accepted. It's nice to eat something different from fast food once in a while. While eating, Akashi looked occasionally at Kuvira, who noticed his glances. Sometimes, she smiled back, and sometimes, she pretended not to notice him.

'She's hot, that's for sure. It'd be a shame if she had to die.' thought Akashi.

Suddenly, the room was interrupted by Aiwei.

"You! What have you done to Zaheer!" Aiwei screamed.

Akashi took a deep breath and shook his head.

Somehow, someone who could also enter the spirits world told him about what happened to Zaheer.

By now, the news about Zaheer's death should have arrived to the whole world.

"I'm the hero who took down a criminal." Akashi said, "What I'm wondering about, why did you get so emotional and are asking me about him, especially since I accused you of being involved with him."

Aiwei paused, before clenching his teeth.

"He was a great man. Someone who you could never dream…"

Before he could complete his words, Akashi snapped his finger, and the consultant of this city fell unconscious.

"Didn't kill him. Didn't want to ruin the mood." Akashi replied casually. "Anyways, guys… since the dinner is over, let me show you something."
