Playing Airbender (Legend of Korra SI)

Chapter 134 134

Chapter 134 134

Akashi, who was in the spiritual world, decided to have a chat with Zaheer. He knew the trick to find someone in the spirit world, and he hadn't learned this trick from anyone. But he had a vague memory that in the spirit world, you attract what you are thinking of. In canon, Iroh was the one who told Korra about this trick.

'So, basically, Iroh is a motivational speaker who talks about the law of attraction… Okay, I don't know Zaheer's look, so let's think of Aiwei,' Akashi thought.

The next second, the view around him started changing. His body moved through what seemed like a tunnel of space-time.

The next second, he found himself standing in front of the bald man who had been meditating.

That man was standing in front of another one with a shaved head.

"As I was telling you, someone figured out we have a connection. Though they don't have proof yet, being suspected by someone close to the Order of the White Lotus is dangerous to our plans," said Aiwei.

Zaheer furrowed his eyebrows and replied, "There is nothing to fear. It's just an illusion that won't stop us from achieving our goal."

Zaheer, who had a high resonance with spiritual matters, suddenly flinched and turned.

Next to them was a spirit of a human that he didn't recognize.

"Who are you?" Zaheer asked.

Aiwei, on the other hand, didn't ask any questions. Instead, he shook in his place.

Zaheer noticed it, read the room, and said, "So, you're Akashi."

"Seems my reputation is ahead of me," Akashi replied.

"How did you get into the spirit world?" Zaheer asked. He knew about Akashi as he was the boyfriend of the Avatar, the founder of the recent rebellion, and more. Even his jailers in the White Lotus Order had talked about Akashi as a legend, the man who did the police chief and the Avatar. There were rumors that he had made them go both ways. But one couldn't always be certain about how true rumors were.

Though Zaheer didn't care about these trivial things, being in prison for more than a decade and alone made him pay attention to such details. Even though he could have meditated and entered the spirit world.

"Haven't Kewpie here said that I'm looking for you?" Akashi said.

"We were just getting into that part before you interrupted us!" Aiwei screamed. "And that's not my name!"

It seemed that since he was in the spirit world, where no human could bend or harm another human soul, he had enough courage to yell at a man who could annihilate him.

Akashi raised his eyebrows at Aiwei and said, "In case you are wondering where my body is, I was in your room the whole time; and it was funny seeing you looking into the air for me like an idiot."

Aiwei almost left the spirit world, but Akashi put his hand on his shoulder and patted him.

"Leave this world, I'll leave it, and I'll make sure that no one will find your body," threatened Akashi.

"I see that you have that tyrant spirit after leading a rebellion," replied Zaheer. "But I don't blame you. You're just a part of a system that I'm trying to correct."

Akashi shook his head.

"Do you think I'm being a tyrant? Aren't you quite the idiot. Just like his body is helpless, mine is as well," Akashi said. "Being a tyrant and an idiot are different things, mate."

"The fact that you are keeping him here means that you want to talk with me," Zaheer concluded.

Akashi examined him.

This man seemed certain of every word that left his mouth.

Akashi nodded.

"Yeah… You've got on my nerve, to be honest," Akashi replied. "And you're the luckiest man for standing before me and not getting punished."

Zaheer tightened his eyebrows.

"And you think you have the right to punish and reward just because you are strong?" Zaheer asked.

"And you think you have the right to criticize just because you know how to make words rhyme?" replied Akashi.

Zaheer crossed his arms. "I'm spelling wisdom. The thing that allowed our very existence. Allowed humanity to reach enlightenment and be above its animal side."

"And I'm spitting facts," replied Akashi, getting his face closer to Zaheer. "Last time I heard about you, you attacked my girl and knocked her out, putting her in danger of being oxygen deprived. The fact that she's not dead, but you could even harm my kid in her belly, is pissing me off."

For so long, both Akashi and Korra had been trying to get a baby. Though there weren't pregnancy tests here, and though she had yet to show signs, she hadn't said that she got her period. And to be honest, Akashi loved Korra, and he already had pictured a family with her.

He didn't care about Zaheer's intents of making a better world.

To Akashi, the intents didn't matter if the results are bad.

Zaheer may succeed in fulfilling his desire, but he would never achieve the desired results, no matter how good his intents.

But if Korra got lost, he may spend the rest of his life getting wasted, drinking, and living in sorrow.

"I see that you have developed a hatred," replied Zaheer, "But why should you, or your woman, be special? Everyone of us, starting from the poor and oppressed, deserves a life free from control. The illusion of control that the tyrants and the Avatar use to impose their ruling."

"That's right," Aiwei interjected. "I've come from a poor background. And just because I got lucky, my brothers and sisters didn't. It's an unfair world, and Zaheer here is going to make it better for us. I believe in him!"

"Once we get back home, honey, a spanking is waiting for you," Akashi pointed to Aiwei while still glaring at Zaheer. "Now shut up while daddy is talking."

Aiwei opened his eyes widely, shaking in his place from anger.

Akashi looked at Zaheer and smirked. "Anyways, I'm going to give you a last chance. Leave to the edge of the world, meditate, and don't ever come back. Leave your cause, and I'll drop the matter."

"Your offer tempts me as the male body does," replied Zaheer.

It meant no.

"So, you leave me no choice," Akashi replied to Zaheer. "I'll look for you."

What Zaheer didn't realize was that from meeting him, Akashi got a good clue of where the latter was.

Zaheer smirked. "Looking forward to that."

Akashi's spiritual body slowly faded. He slowly turned his face to Aiwei and smiled at him before completely vanishing from the spirit world.

"Sir," Aiwei turned to Zaheer. "Rumors say that he managed to defeat more than ten thousand men on his own. Facts say that he annihilated a thousand with one shot… What am I doing?"

Zaheer patted the man who believed in him, saying, "Thank you for your help, my old friend."

"Maybe if I stayed here, he will forget about me," Aiwei said, feeling afraid knowing that his real body was with Akashi.

"You can't stay here forever, or else some spirits may hunt you and put you in the lost souls mist," Zaheer warned. "It's the worst possibility."
