Playing Airbender (Legend of Korra SI)

Chapter 132 132

Chapter 132 132

'I wonder if Mom is here, so, my siblings.' Akashi thought. 'Though, I don't think I should stay here for long; she'd make it seem like I started ignoring them after becoming rich. I'm a busy cop, anyway. And I have two identities. Well, I've been busy ever since arriving. Let's see. I've fought a queen, a bloodbender, an anti-bender movement, a full Dai Li agent, created a rebellion, fought the Dark Spirit… made a company, bought land, created fast food…. And now, I'm chasing the Order of the Red Lotus.

'Man. If I added to that the serial killers and the criminals I've caught, and the organizations that Noatak and I stopped, I think I was too busy to notice that I've been busy. But, well, I've been three years away from home for work, so it's normal.'

Akashi had a moment of realization. He looked at his hand and thought, 'I've lived a lot.'

Lin gave him a strange look. "What are you musing about?"

"Lin, do you think I'm a busy person?" Akashi asked.

Lin chuckled. "Why? Are you trying to convince someone? Your mother?"

Akashi turned to her.

Lin nodded. "I guess you are too busy to notice. I barely see you once a week."

"Would it be possible to retire early?" Akashi asked.

"If you want to leave your legacy to someone who's not your blood, you can do it," she said.

Akashi shook his head. He was still too young, and he could hire people to be less busy.

"We've arrived. The family is waiting for you," the one who led them to the city's main building said.

In front of a large house, there was a large yard. From the doors stepped out many individuals, and they seemed to be a family.

In the middle, there was a gray-haired green woman with a pretty, gentle face looking at Lin.

'Looks like Lin, but with younger and cuter features. No muscles, though. Shame…' Akashi thought, checking out what he assumed to be his sister-in-law.

"Lin…?" said that woman. "No one said you arrived."

"Suyin," said Lin slowly and hatefully. She crossed her arms, looked away, and clicked her tongue.

Suyin forced a smile, as if she had expected that.

"I didn't say that it wasn't a nice surprise," Suyin added.

"Who's that?" one of the girls and boys who appeared said.

"These are your aunt and my sister," Suyin said.

"And who's that guy? Is he our nephew?" asked a man who appeared to be 10 years older than Akashi.

Akashi put his hand on his chest and clenched it, holding something. He wondered what their reaction would be when they knew that he was their uncle-in-law. Moreover, most of them were older.

"Well, we were expecting an airbender for Opal," said Suyin.

Akashi looked around, his eyes falling on a short brunette who looked to be around his age. She had short hair, green eyes, and tanned skin. And she looked like a very young version of Lin, with tanned skin. It seemed that the females from Toph's side looked good.

Akashi smiled. "I'm an airbender. But I was surprised as well to know that you were expecting us."

Suyin blinked, seeming to realize something. She looked between Akashi and Lin, swallowed her saliva, and asked, "So…? Why are you with my sister?"

"That's right," Akashi wrapped his hand around her waist. "We're getting married, and I thought I would come around for a visit. I asked Lin to tag along."

"Oh?" Suyin looked at Lin and smiled. "Glad you came."

Her sons, nephews, and people who were around had a different reaction. Most of them looked at Lin and Akashi in shock. And it was for a good reason.

After seeming to realize what happened, Suyin walked to Lin, opening her arms for a hug. "I'm happy that you were able to put the past behind you."

Lin took a step away from the hug, glared at her, and said, "You always got away with every deed you did, you spoiled brat."

"Lin, that's an unnecessary thing to say," replied Suyin.

Akashi slowly stepped to the side.

Lin poked her sister with her finger and said, "You think that was necessary. Did you believe Mom? She couldn't discipline you because she had a reputation to keep."

"That's pushing it."

"Really. How about this?" Lin replied angrily as she pushed her sister a few meters.

Suyin looked at her and groaned. "Lin, calm down."

It seemed that Lin was about to have an emotional breakdown.

"What are you going to do?" Lin snapped as she stomped, making the ground shake.

Akashi whispered in a voice that Suyin could hear, "She destroyed the Air Temple last time she was like this… cough."

As Lin was about to stomp one more time, Suyin bent the ground under her sister's foot to ruin her bending, out of fear that she would destroy her house.

Lin, seeing that her sister used bending, understood it as a sign to start a fight.

And so, the two sisters fought in a battle that could be called a peak of metalbending, plus some earthbending.

The children of Suyin tried to approach things and calm them down.

But Akashi used this chance and grabbed every person who looked old by the arm.

Suyin's husband and some of the people who served under him.

"What are you doing?" asked Suyin's husband.

"Forgot to introduce myself again," Akashi replied. "I'm here, representative of the Order of the White Lotus. And given the proof I have in my hands, one of you is colluding with the Order of the Red Lotus. This is a clear violation of international laws."

"What!" the husband of Suyin opened his eyes widely. "Are you out of your mind?"

Given the waves that his heart produced, he was being honest.

"What about you guys?" he turned to the other old people. "Anyone with an idea?"

"You should be arrested," said a person.

"Your mother may be," added another.

Akashi smiled, veins bulging. "I guess I have a couple of suspects."
