Chapter 116: Procession
Chapter 116: Procession
The female enforcer was a short woman with a stern expression on her face. She scanned the dining hall, assessing the situation before turning towards He Wenxin.
"Is she the one?" she asked.
Enforcer One nodded.
He Wenxin glanced at Ye Jun, unease crawling up in her heart. However, he just winked at her, which relaxed her a little. For all things he was, she knew Ye Jun was cunning and also trustworthy.
So she stepped forward and said, "You can check me."
The female enforcer did her job, checking her everywhere. She even checked her Space Ring. As if that wasn’t enough, she also took her to a side room for a better check.
After some time, they came back as Enforcer Three announced, "There is nothing on her aside from some books and basic necessities."
"Impossible!" the bitch screamed, too shocked. "She stole from me!! I’m sure she hid it somewhere. Check properly!"
"Are you implying something here?" the enforcer narrowed her eyes. "I’ve already checked everything and there’s nothing."
"How is that possible!" the bitch was confused, baffled. "S-She probably hid it in her abode or something."
"So, there’s no evidence," Ye Jun said, cutting her off. "Meaning you can’t do anything to us or her."
"You!" the bitch pointed at him. "You hid it for her, right? Check him too."
Enforcer One nodded, "It is possible, so I’ll check you."
"I’ve a better option," Ye Jun said, smiling. "Can you tell what’s your Clan’s heirloom?"
"A necklace with blue gems," the bitch replied. "It helps in soothing our brain so we’re in the best condition for cultivation. It’s very precious."
"Is that so?" Ye Jun tilted his head slightly and said, "What if it’s on you and you’re just framing us?"
"No, it is on you!" she hissed. "I never break any laws, so why would I frame you?"
"So you don’t have any problems with our dear enforcer searching you?" Ye Jun asked, still keeping a calm, friendly tone.
It unnerved the bitch and her companions. They found his calmness too suspicious and could feel something bad was going to happen.
Still, the bitch was confident, so she raised her hand and said confidently, "Sure. Please search me, so we can quickly find the real thieves."
Ye Jun gestured towards the female enforcer. "Please, if you’ll do the honors."
She nodded and began checking her. Only a few seconds had passed before she pulled out a blue necklace from the bitch’s robes, which sent a wave of gasps among the audience.
The trucks were stunned, while the other enforcers facepalmed, knowing this was a lost opportunity. Nothing could be done to save this.
Meanwhile, the bitch stared in shock at the blue necklace. She had clearly put it on He Wenxin, so how the hell did it end up back with her? Had it somehow gained sentience?
Shock rooted her to the ground.
Only Mountain was laughing, as if he had already expected it. He Wenxin was also surprised, wondering what truly happened.
"Soooooooooo!" Ye Jun grinned. "This was all just baseless accusations, right?"
The enforcers looked at each other and nodded in understanding. Enforcer One said, "Yes, we’re sorry for disturbing you. There is no need for further investigation. We’ll leave now."
"Hold up!" Ye Jun quickly appeared before them. "She accused us, tried to frame us. So, please remind me if there are any laws for that? What is the punishment for it?"
"Twenty lashes from the Thunder Whip," Enforcer Three said, silently judging the bitch. "That’s the punishment."
Enforcer One cursed under his breath and said, "We were planning to do that at the Law Enforcement Hall."
"I see. I see."
Ye Jun knew they didn’t plan to do anything. The bitch would be forgiven because of her connections, but how could his petty self let it go so easily?
He smiled, jumped on a table and clapped to get attention... which was already on him due to his shenanigans, but he didn’t care. He looked at everyone and said,
"I have a proposal for you. How about we all go and see how the Law Enforcement Hall does their work? I’ll give everyone here a free meal."
That was enough to rile up everyone, as they all stood up and shouted in agreement. They were already interested in watching it, so the meal was just an added bonus.
Enforcer Two’s face paled. If everyone went there, then they couldn’t save their companion. They would have to go through the punishment unless they wanted to alert their superiors and suffer themselves.
"N-No! They are framing me!" the bitch screamed in terror. "They did steal it."
However, no one heard her pleas. The female enforcer grabbed her hand and began to drag her away. Her companions, the trucks, wanted to help but they didn’t have the courage to go against the enforcers.
After all, they were the only ones with authority to use force in the sect outside of duels.
Soon, the sect saw a weird scene which confused even the elders. A procession was being led by the law enforcers as they dragged a woman screaming at them.
The elders paused, wondering what kind of heinous crime the woman committed to deserve such treatment. On the other hand, the disciples joined the procession, finding it funny.
By the time they reached the Law Enforcement Hall, more than two hundred disciples were accompanying Ye Jun to watch the bitch getting punished.
"You’re drawing too much attention," He Wenxin said, a little taken aback by the turn of events.
"It means my plan is working," Ye Jun said, having his hands behind his head. "Don’t worry about it."
"How did you even see through her plan?" He Wenxin asked, still confused. "And how did you reverse it?"
"In the hands of a master, such things are mere tricks," Ye Jun shrugged. "Anyone could see through her ploy easily. As for how I did it, it’s a child’s game."
His first ever ’job’ was robbery and he slowly became a master at it, so how could someone like the bitch compare to him?
He was a master at that.
