Chapter 115: Ragebaiting

All the disciples shifted in their seats, ready to watch a drama. Most of them spent their whole day busy in cultivation, so they rarely found means of entertainment. Now, they got something entertaining to watch.

Back at his seat, Ye Jun smiled while He Wenxin tensed up. He gently patted her shoulder and said, "Let’s have fun."

He stood up. Mountain did the same, easily towering over everyone and gathering attention from everyone.

"It’s them!" the bitch screamed, pointing at them. "She stole my Clan’s heirloom."

Enforcer One narrowed his eyes at He Wenxin and scoffed, "Quite daring of you to do robbery in this sect. Now, come with us peacefully, otherwise we would be forced to take extreme measures."

He Wenxin hesitated but said nothing. She was wondering what she should do when Ye Jun came to stand before her, his voice calm, "Hold on a second!"

"And who are you?" Enforcer Two asked. "Get out of our way. Obstructing us from doing our duty is an offense and we can punish you for that."

"He is with her!" the bitch screamed again. "They ganged up on me and my friends, beat us up, and then stole our things. He is involved in this."

"Is that so?" Enforcer One cracked his knuckles and said, "We don’t want things to get messy, so I’ll give you the same option. Come with us peacefully or you will face worse punishments."

Ye Jun chuckled and strode forward, "I’m new here, so please do tell me if Law Enforcers here can do anything they want?"

"Of course not," Enforcer One said. "We’re just following the laws and bringing justice. A lawless place isn’t a good atmosphere for cultivation."

Ye Jun hummed, going around their group as the bitch and the trucks watched him warily and tried to keep their distance from him. Clearly, they hadn’t forgotten what he did last time.

"I see. And here I was wondering why I didn’t get any trouble for the last two months," Ye Jun turned back towards the enforcers and said, "I agree with you. We must maintain law, otherwise we’re not different from Spiritual Beasts."

"O-Oh." Enforcer One was a little surprised he agreed with them so easily. "Then let’s go."

"But there’s a problem," Ye Jun said, coming to stand before them again. "Where is the evidence? You’re taking us in based on her words alone?"

"No, that is why we are taking you to the Enforcement Hall and investigating everything," Enforcer One said. "If we had evidence, we would have forcibly taken you in. Offenders don’t deserve any respect."

"Great!" Ye Jun smiled and said, "But I don’t want to go with you. Unless you have evidence, you can’t take me either. I’ve read the law books."

Enforcer Two frowned, clearly not expecting that. Even the disciples of the Law Enforcement Hall barely bothered to read those books, so why was he reading them?

But they couldn’t deny it outright now, so he nodded, "Yes, but it would be better to do it there."

"No. I’m fine here." Ye Jun raised his hand and said, "None of us are leaving unless you present us with evidence."

He knew very well that they were being framed, as this was the bitch’s way to get back at them. He guessed that her connections didn’t have high authority, so they had to use such tactics.

Since he didn’t come out of his abode for two months, they waited and only struck now.

"We have evidence," the bitch quickly said, seeing the enforcers hesitate. "If you check her, I’m sure you’ll find my Clan’s heirloom."

He Wenxin flinched, glancing briefly at Ye Jun and found him completely calm and relaxed. It confused her, more so when she noticed Mountain chewing on some fruits beside her.

"Relax. He is good," Mountain said. "No punishment for you."

Ye Jun stared at the enforcers for a moment, as the tension in the atmosphere grew. The two of them were ready to fight if it came down to it.

Contrary to their expectations, Ye Jun threw his hands up and said, "As I’m a lawful person and I think my client here is innocent, you can check her."

He Wenxin grew even more confused, while the bitch smiled in joy. Even the enforcers were surprised, as earlier Ye Jun gave an expression as if he was ready to fight.

"It’s good that you understand," Enforcer One said, taking a step forward. "The truth will come out now."

"Stop right there!" Ye Jun shouted, his face contorted in pure rage.

Everyone in the inn was surprised by how quickly his expression changed. A moment ago, he looked so carefree and now he was ready to chew anyone out for the slightest offense.

They found it entertaining.

On the other hand, the enforcers were speechless. They wanted to scream at him. Why couldn’t he just make up his mind?

They were ready for both fighting and doing things peacefully, so why was he doing both?

"What is it now?" Enforcer One growled, barely containing his anger. "If you don’t let us search her, then you’ll be breaching the laws."

"And you should know the punishment that awaits those who break laws," Enforcer Two sneered in disdain. "After all, you have read the law books."

Ye Jun smiled, once again surprising everyone, and said, "Of course, I know. And I don’t intend to break the laws."

He paused, making the others even more annoyed.

"Then why did you stop us?" Enforcer Two almost grabbed a table to throw at him.

"Tell me, do you intend to search her yourself?" Ye Jun asked, crossing his arms. "She’s a woman and if you check her, I’ll file a complaint that you did it intentionally to sexually harass her."

He rubbed his chin and muttered, "What was the punishment for sexual harassment again?"

The hall fell silent. Even the onlookers didn’t expect such a comeback. For a moment, they forgot to react, wondering where Ye Jun got the weirdness to think of such things.

The enforcers looked at each other, then back at Ye Jun, wondering if they heard the same thing. Then, Enforcer Two almost lunged at Ye Jun, but Enforcer One held him back.

Seeing that, Ye Jun clicked his tongue. ’And here I thought my rage-baiting skills were good.’

If they got rage-baited and attacked him, then he could use it to his advantage. Unfortunately, Enforcer One remained sane enough.

Mountain’s laughter broke the atmosphere as others also began laughing, while the person in question, He Wenxin, just stood there dumbfounded.

After interacting with Ye Jun for almost two months, she had come to understand him a little. She knew he had some damage in his brain, but even she was taken aback by his claims.

"You... what are you suggesting?" Enforcer One asked, suppressing his anger. "We are doing our job."

"Don’t your Law Enforcement Hall have women enforcers?" Ye Jun asked, his voice full of righteousness. "Or are you telling me your hall discriminates between men and women? They only allow men? That’s awful."

"Shut up!" Enforcer Two snapped at him. "Stop with your nonsense and just speak everything properly in one go."

"Alright," Ye Jun shrugged. "She’s a woman, so a filthy man like you shouldn’t touch her. Call a female enforcer."

Enforcer Two wanted to argue more, but Enforcer One pulled him back and said, "Fine. We’ll do that."

He pulled out his jade stone and made some conversation.

After that, the two sides stood there in silence, waiting for the female enforcer to arrive. Just as the atmosphere was turning grim, Ye Jun turned and shouted, "One more portion of meatballs please."

He glanced back at He Wenxin and asked, "It’s fine, right?"

"Oh... yes, it’s fine. I will pay," He Wenxin quickly said.

Sensing weird looks coming at him, Ye Jun said, acting oblivious, "What? A man gets hungry. Don’t you have something to eat too? Just focus on that. There is more drama incoming."

"There is no more drama," the bitch said, scoffing. "You lot stole from me and now you’ll pay for that."

"Was it expensive?" Ye Jun asked. "Your Clan’s heirloom?"

"What?" the bitch was perplexed. "Why do you want to know that?"

"Didn’t you say we’re going to pay for that?" Ye Jun looked at her as if she was the dumbest human alive. "How can we pay if we don’t even know if it’s expensive or not?"

Enforcer One facepalmed, rubbing his eyes. He wondered whose face he saw in the morning to have such a terrible day.

"You..." the bitch was at a loss for words.

Just then, the meatballs arrived and Ye Jun ate them with Mountain, fully relaxed and full of joy. It didn’t even feel like they could soon enter prison or might even get expelled.

Soon, He Wenxin also gave up on understanding Ye Jun and his mind and joined in eating the meatballs.

The scene made the enforcers and the bitch with her trucks speechless.

Finally, the female enforcer arrived and their torture ended.
