Chapter 595 - 587: Father and Daughter Begin to Show Off Their Sweet Relationship (5)

Ji Anning didn’t know which box they had reserved. She looked up at Ji Chicheng, "Uncle, which box is ours?"

"I don’t know."

Ji Chicheng replied indifferently to Ji Anning, and then turned right, carrying Fenfen.

How could he treat his current partner like this?

Ji Anning frowned and watched the man who walked away without looking back, leaving her awkwardly standing there.

She had already announced she’d treat someone to a meal, and if she walked away now, it would look bad. Others might say she was just pretending to be nice.

After a moment’s thought, she said to Korea, "Every time I come here to eat, he’s the one who books the box, I really don’t know, why don’t you join us for now?"

Ah... It was her first time trying to act cool, and even she wanted to despise herself.

Including this time, she had only been here twice, and yet she spoke as if she came often.

Korea’s deep blue eyes were fixed on Ji Chicheng’s tall figure. Only when Ji Anning spoke to her did she withdraw her gaze, smiling slightly and shaking her head at Ji Anning, "No, thanks, I need to visit my mother first."

Yes! This was for the best.

Ji Anning mentally cheered, maintaining polite decorum on the surface, "That’s fine, let’s eat together next time then, enjoy your meal."

Korea nodded, "Sure."

After greeting Korea, Ji Anning turned and hurried after Ji Chicheng, walking quickly and feeling relieved that she didn’t know the box number and had avoided making things difficult for herself.

Their box was at the very eastern end.

It wasn’t large, and the decoration style differed from the one she had dined in with Charles; that one was luxurious, palace-like, while today’s was cozier.

A long dining table suitable for two was set near a large floor-to-ceiling window, covered with a beautiful tablecloth.

Sitting at the table, she could turn her head to see the cityscape of N City, and just by tilting her head back, she could see the blue sky. Ji Anning looked at Ji Chicheng, who sat across from her. He had taken off his suit jacket and was wearing a white shirt, holding a cellphone, seemingly engrossed in whatever was on the screen, his slender fingers constantly swiping.

Ji Anning, with her hands propped under her chin, gazed at him, lips pursed in a slight smile, looking a bit silly and infatuated. Yet, within that silly gaze flickered a tinge of melancholy.

Suddenly, Ji Chicheng looked up at her. She hurriedly shifted her gaze away, feeling awkward, and pouted, "How come the dishes haven’t been served yet? I’m starving."

"You haven’t ordered."

Ji Chicheng kindly reminded Ji Anning.

His tone was calm, and his voice showed not the slightest variation in pitch.

"Oh." Ji Anning awkwardly stuck out her tongue and waved at the waitstaff standing by the kitchen area, "Time to order."

The waiter came over with a slight smile and handed the tablet for ordering to Ji Anning.

The last time she came with Charles, Ji Mingyue had ordered the dishes. She hadn’t looked at the menu then, but now she scrolled through it from start to finish. The price of each dish, even just a bottle of soda, made her forehead break out in cold sweat.

A casual dish could cost tens of thousands; she really wanted to ask, were they made of dragon meat or what?

The price of wine was even less bearable to look at, none under a hundred thousand per bottle. She remembered how Ji Chicheng and Charles had compared their alcohol tolerance that day, drinking the most expensive and finest wines.

Each sip was worth tens of thousands...

"Uncle, you order. I don’t know what to eat."

Ji Anning really couldn’t bring herself to order and, trembling, she pushed the tablet toward Ji Chicheng.
