Chapter 580 - 572 His Warmth (Part 5)
Ji Chicheng rolled his eyes at her and didn’t reply, carefully chewing the food in his mouth without giving away any indication of liking or disliking it.
’Achoo’
Suddenly, he sneezed, promptly covering his mouth with his hand.
Just after reaching for two tissues ready to wipe his mouth, he sneezed twice more in succession.
"Do you have a cold?" Ji Mingyue looked up and asked Ji Chicheng.
Ji Chicheng shook his head, "No."
His voice was thick with nasal congestion and after speaking, he coughed a few times.
Ji Mingyue frowned, "Even your voice sounds off."
"Have some cold medicine later," Ji Mingyue advised with concern, then murmured doubtfully to herself, "In this weather, you haven’t even been out in the rain, and such a big guy like you catches a cold—it’s really too LOW."
This warm concern from his older sister Nuannuan was something Ji Chicheng couldn’t ignore, so he hummed softly in acknowledgment and continued to eat with his head down.
As he looked down, his gaze swept across Ji Anning’s face, who seemed to have no reaction whatsoever to his cold symptoms.
In a huff, he sped up eating his breakfast.
He indeed finished off the hearty breakfast, and Ji Anning couldn’t help but feel a rise of pleasure upon seeing the empty plate.
Beside her, Ji Mingyue gave her a sidelong glance and scoffed, "Look at you, so lowly entertained. You make a meal for someone, they don’t even say thank you, and you’re over the moon."
Ji Anning stuck out her tongue at her and, skipping over the subject, looked at her worriedly, "Cousin, you really shouldn’t do the interview with Charles."
She would have brought this up the night before if the atmosphere hadn’t been so awkward.
Ji Mingyue frowned, "Why?"
Ji Anning vaguely replied, "He’s very shrewd; you shouldn’t get involved with him."
As for Charles, and his true intentions, they weren’t something that could be explained clearly in just a sentence or two.
She didn’t know how to explain this to Ji Mingyue and she couldn’t even imagine the kind of reckless actions her fiery cousin might take if she learned about the grudge between Charles and their grandfather.
Ji Mingyue shrugged it off indifferently, "I just want to interview him, to increase my popularity and add a glorious Chapter to my live broadcast career. What do I care if he’s deep and scheming? I’m not doing business with him."
"Actually he is..." Ji Anning felt a headache coming on, thought better of it, and then said, "Let me know when you’ve scheduled the interview."
When the time came, she would definitely accompany her and find a way to make her wary of Charles.
"Got it," said Ji Mingyue, nodding. She plainly didn’t take Ji Anning’s words to heart.
After the meal, Ji Mingyue dragged her suitcase away, claiming she had a post-interview trip back to Country Y.
Her newly founded company was keeping her very busy.
Dinner.
At the dinner table, it was just Ji Anning and Fenfen together, with the auntie having made a whole table of dishes while Ji Anning had only a few bites.
Sitting on the couch with Fenfen watching TV, outside the sky darkened, seemingly with the signs of impending rain. She listened distractedly to Fenfen singing along nonsensically with the TV.
"It looks like rain—the sky’s all dark. I’m going to bring in the potted plants from outside."
The auntie noticed the weather turning in the kitchen and, worried about the rain, thought of the potted plants that couldn’t be drenched.
