Chapter 503 - 495: Fenfen, My Daughter (18)

Ji Anning bent down, pointed at Qi Helian, and introduced him with a slight smile to the little girl, "This is uncle, Uncle Helian."

"Anning, who is this?" Qi Helian stared at Fenfen’s sparkling big eyes, his expression filled with confusion and surprise.

"My daughter." Ji Anning answered Qi Helian offhandedly, then lifted her head to address her assistant standing nearby, "Qiqi, take Fenfen over there to eat something."

The assistant immediately came over and took Fenfen away.

Ji Anning and Qi Helian both stood up, looking at each other, and for a moment, they didn’t know what to say.

"You..."

"You..."

Finally having thought of what to ask, they both spoke at the same time, their voices colliding.

Ji Anning laughed, scratching the back of her head, "How come Mr. Qi is here?"

"Came to attend the Fashion tenth anniversary," Qi Helian finished, then raised an eyebrow to ask Ji Anning, "What about you?"

Ji Anning was surprised, "What a coincidence, I’m also here for that event."

Hearing this, Qi Helian also felt surprised, he frowned and looked at his assistant standing not far away, "Minnie, how come I didn’t know about this?"

A tone of reproach.

Minnie replied with a look of grievance, "Mr. Qi, don’t you always attend events without asking about the guest list?"

"Oh really?" Qi Helian nodded, then smiled again looking at Ji Anning, observing her face that had grown even more delicate and beautiful over the past two years.

In his smile, there was a hint of infatuation and confusion.

The two of them stood facing each other, with people coming and going around them. Even though this was abroad, Qi Helian was internationally renowned, and some people had already recognized him.

Ji Anning did not want to draw attention. She pointed in the direction of Fenfen and the assistant, asking Qi Helian, "Have you eaten yet, Mr. Qi? Would you like to join us?"

"I’ve already eaten," Qi Helian pursed his lips, "You go ahead."

"Okay."

Ji Anning gave a slight nod to Qi Helian, then lifted her foot and walked past him.

Qi Helian’s gaze followed her, watching her petite figure disappear into the crowd, his heart filled with a novelty of complex, tangled emotions.

The assistant, seeing him lost in a daze, lifted her wrist to check the time, then hesitated for a moment before she approached and softly reminded, "Mr. Qi, we still have to meet with Director Beck later."

Qi Helian then withdrew his gaze, instructing Minnie, "Go ask them which room they’re staying in and get a contact number."

"Okay."

...

"Guess who I ran into at the hotel?"

Ji Chicheng had just landed and upon hearing that Ji Anning hadn’t arrived in City N, was uncontrollably angered.

Having no place to vent his fury and seeing a text message from Qi Helian, he impulsively pressed a button to send a reply, "Scram!"

After sending it, he stood with his hands on his hips, his eyes scanning around City N International Airport over and over again, each scan more bewildering than the last.

"Boss, found out, Miss Anning also has a ticket to fly to City J an hour earlier," Minnie hurriedly approached Ji Chicheng with her phone, reporting.

Upon hearing this, Ji Chicheng clenched his teeth, "Damn! That Charles!"

This was his first time being tricked, and it was such a low-level trick at that.

He blamed his impatience.

Just then, his phone rang again. Annoyed, he pulled it out to see the caller ID—Qi Helian.

He irritably answered and brought it to his ear, "Scram!"

He roared and was ready to hang up when Qi Helian, fully aware of his temperament, hurriedly shouted, "Ji Chicheng, don’t hang up yet, I saw Ji Anning."
