Chapter 501 - 493: Fenfen, My Daughter (16)

Ji Chicheng hung up the phone and tossed his cellphone back onto the passenger seat.

...

The plane landed in J City as the sun had already set.

By the time they arrived at the hotel, it was completely dark and Fenfen had fallen asleep in the car, which was now steadily parked at the hotel entrance.

The luggage was taken away by the hotel staff, and only then did the assistant help Ji Anning open the car door.

"Nian Jie, let me carry her."

Ji Anning, holding Fenfen, found it difficult to get out of the car, so the assistant quickly bent down and stretched out his hands, ready to take Fenfen.

Fearing she would wake Fenfen, Ji Anning also felt it was better to let the assistant take her, so she carefully handed Fenfen over.

Fenfen suddenly muttered, "Mommy hold."

The little girl burrowed further into her arms.

Ji Anning couldn’t bear to let go, "Alright, Mommy will hold."

She simply stood up and looked down at the little one in her arms, who was still not awake.

"Nian Jie, the event organizers called just now, tomorrow might start quite early." The assistant reported while walking, "Dinner at six o’clock with Director Beck."

Hearing these schedules, Ji Anning felt a headache coming on, she frowned and said to the assistant, "Push back the later schedules as much as possible, and cancel what can be canceled, take good care of Fenfen tomorrow."

"Mhm." The assistant nodded, then looked worriedly at Ji Anning, "Then..."

Ji Anning knew what she was worried about, "I’ll be fine on my own, take good care of Fenfen, mainly just take care of her."

Upon hearing this, the assistant didn’t say anything further, just nodded and gave an ’oh’.

The two talked while entering the elevator.

This was located in the busiest and most scenic part of J City, convenient for transportation, eating, and shopping.

Actually, Ji Anning had wanted to stay somewhere quieter, but considering her work over the next few days in the city center and wanting more time with Fenfen, she had chosen this place reluctantly.

At this moment, there were many people coming and going.

Initially, there was no one when they entered the elevator, but gradually several people got on.

Some people talked as they walked, waking Fenfen up.

In the past two years at Charles’s house, she had been sheltered and hardly ever went out; now in this strange environment with unfamiliar faces, she seemed very uncomfortable.

Ji Anning frowned, stepped back behind the assistant, and leaned in to whisper, "How’s the house situation coming along?"

The assistant replied, "We have been looking according to your requests in J City and N City."

Ji Anning nodded, "Mhm."

After leaving Charles’s house, they definitely needed a permanent residence, as it wasn’t feasible to keep staying in hotels with a child.

It was Fenfen’s first time going out, and to let Fenfen enjoy the views of L City, Ji Anning specifically booked the highest floor of the hotel, but because of the last-minute booking, the room was a bit out of the way, at the end of the corridor.

The huge floor-to-ceiling window offered a broad view that was instantly relieving.

After staring outside for a while, Ji Anning pulled her gaze back and looked down to see Fenfen kneeling on the floor, hands on the window glass, looking outside with surprise on her face.

Her heart couldn’t help but feel a mix of sourness and guilt.

The world is so colorful, what does it look like in Fenfen’s eyes?

She slowly squatted down close to Fenfen, "Fenfen, do you like it?"

Fenfen shook her head.

Ji Anning was surprised, "Why don’t you like it?"

"Hungry." Fenfen turned her head, pouted at Ji Anning, and rubbed her little stomach.
