Chapter 435 - 429: Huge Joke (Part 6)

When she endured the agony of abandoning her greatest love, an unexpected guest arrived.

Ji Anning thought about it and couldn’t help but smirk self-deprecatingly, wondering if this could also be considered as fate being not so unkind to her.

After all, some people spent years trying without being able to conceive, and here she was, pregnant twice within six months.

Deep down, she was very clear. They were uncle and nephew, closely related. She shouldn’t keep the child, couldn’t keep it, but she couldn’t bear to let go or even think about it.

Ji Anning’s eyes were full of confusion, unable to see the path ahead.

’Knock knock knock’

Suddenly, a knock at the door interrupted Ji Anning’s thoughts. She slowly turned her head to look at the door.

"Anning, are you there?"

It was Jin Yuanyuan’s voice. Ji Anning gathered her thoughts, got out of bed, and went to open the door.

Upon opening the door, she saw two figures. Ji Anning looked at the slender woman beside Jin Yuanyuan and was surprised, "Aunt Ming, what brings you here?"

Ji Mingyue was dressed in a black leather jacket and tight leather pants, her long wavy hair falling freely, wearing stylish sunglasses, looking every bit the biker chick.

She calmly took off her sunglasses, revealing a face with bold features. Instead of replying immediately to Ji Anning, she first glanced around the dorm room, then frowned and looked at Ji Anning in disbelief, "Ji Anning, I really wonder if you’ve lost your mind. How can you live in a place like this?"

Born with a silver spoon in her mouth, a lady like her surely wouldn’t find this modest dormitory appealing.

Ji Anning smiled, "It’s very comfortable living alone."

"Fine, keep pretending if you must," Ji Mingyue replied, putting her sunglasses back on. Then she said, "Change your clothes, I’m taking you out to eat."

"Going out to eat?" Ji Anning asked, puzzled, "Aunt Ming, why do you want to take me out for a meal?"

Although Ji Mingyue had never treated her as harshly as Ji Ruoqian and Ji Xiangting had, plotting against her, she was never fond of her either.

The sudden offer to take her out was puzzling and curiosity-provoking.

Ji Mingyue frowned and looked at Ji Anning disdainfully, "You’re such a strange kid, no wonder I’ve never liked you since you were little. I’m your elder. Isn’t it normal for me to take you out for a meal? Do you think I would harm you?"

Disliking someone yet asking to dine with them was akin to slapping one’s own face.

Jin Tongxie looked at Ji Mingyue with a perplexed expression.

However, it wasn’t her place to comment on their aunt-nephew business, so she signaled Ji Anning and went back to her own dorm.

Ji Anning shook her head and politely declined Ji Mingyue, "Aunt Ming, that’s not what I meant. I have classes this afternoon, and if I go out for a meal now, I definitely won’t make it back in time for class."

Her mind was in turmoil; she hardly felt like accompanying her out for a meal.

"What classes? It’s not like you can’t graduate," Ji Mingyue insisted stubbornly as she grabbed Ji Anning’s hand and pulled her into the dorm room, talking as they walked. "Come with me and broaden your horizons. You’re too unsophisticated."

She made it sound so reasonable that Ji Anning found herself unable to argue.

So she reluctantly nodded in agreement, "Alright then."

Then she turned to fetch clothes from the wardrobe. Suddenly, she heard Ji Mingyue exclaim in surprise from behind, "Wow, Ji Anning, you really are pregnant."

Ji Anning was startled, only then remembering the pregnancy tests she had left on the table.
