Pampered by My Ex's Cousin

Chapter 413 - 407: Choice (Part Four)

Chapter 413 - 407: Choice (Part Four)

Ji Anning stood in the heavy snow, flakes settling on her head, no longer melting immediately but solidifying on the strands of hair across her forehead.

The howling north wind swept over her, each gust chilling to the bone.

She told herself that if she became numb from the cold, it wouldn’t hurt anymore.

A black Audi slowly approached her, but the man in the car, seeing her in the cold wind, already felt his heart pierce like an arrow.

The car stopped, he didn’t bother to turn off the engine, he flung open the door and got out, "Ji Anning, have you lost your mind?"

With a tone of affectionate reproach, he rushed to Ji Anning’s side, brushed the snow off her head with his hands, then cupped her icy cold cheeks.

Soft palms, warm, carrying the pleasant scent of hand cream.

Ji Anning’s nose tingled, she slowly lifted her head and looked at the man before her, his brows, his eyes, the breath he exhaled, dissipating between them.

The hands by her sides clenched into tight fists. She thought... when his mother left him years ago, she must have felt just like she does now.

His bright, sincere eyes conveyed endless love and gentleness.

Ji Anning dared not look further, she quickly lowered her eyelids, "Let’s break up."

Three words, sounding so calm, even the tone did not fluctuate at all.

Having spoken, she lifted her head and coldly faced Ji Chicheng.

"Ji Anning, this is the second time," Ji Chicheng gritted his teeth, cupped Ji Anning’s face, and kissed her lips.

The bitterly cold wind swirled in the air, snowflakes dancing above their heads, making this punitive kiss all the more distinctive.

Ji Anning held back her tears, pretending to be nonresponsive, not giving the man any recourse.

One last time, this was the last time, to enjoy his kiss.

"Don’t let there be a third time."

The kiss ended, Ji Chicheng rested his forehead against Ji Anning’s, gasping as he looked at her.

Warning her.

However, Ji Anning didn’t even blink, cold as ice, like a snow queen in this icy weather, devoid of any expression.

Ji Chicheng noticed something was off, he frowned, "Is it because of the news?"

Ji Anning finally showed some reaction, she slowly lifted her eyelids and looked at him with a gaze devoid of warmth.

"That was obviously staged by them, how can you be so foolish?" Ji Chicheng pretended to scold but then pulled Ji Anning into his arms, his large palm tenderly stroking the back of her head.

He held her tightly.

"Yes," Ji Anning coldly chuckled, "I am foolish to have been deceived by your sugar-coated bullets, and I was foolish to almost lose the position of the future Mrs. J.C."

As she spoke, she placed her hands against Ji Chicheng’s chest and pushed him away, yelling at him, "So I don’t want to be foolish anymore, let’s break up."

She took several steps back.

Looking at his handsome face, snowflakes landing on his thick eyelashes, his slightly raised eyebrows, his shining eyes, his suit, his white shirt...

Ji Anning, he is your uncle by blood, and you are his niece.

You’ve taken a long time to accept this fact.

So you can’t be greedy, can’t be attached!

Ji Anning continued to step backward, distancing herself by two or three meters.

Ji Chicheng still stood there, his once warm hands now clenched by his sides, reddened by the cold wind as he looked at Ji Anning.
