Chapter 402 - 396 Unacceptable Truth (Part 1)

Finally, Ji Anning could not hold back and was the first to speak, calling out. She pursed her lips, cautiously waiting for his elder’s response.

"Anning," the elder finally withdrew his gaze from outside the window and shifted it onto Ji Anning. His eyes, which had seen all manners of the world, stared unblinkingly at her face.

His expression was sorrowful.

Seeing this made Ji Anning even more panicked and nervous.

"Ah," the elder sighed helplessly, "there is something, Grandpa originally thought that since you would eventually be part of the Ji Family, I wouldn’t tell you. But now, it seems I must."

Ji Anning vaguely felt it was bad news, her voice tense and dry, taking a long time before she could speak, "What... what is it?"

Could she never know about it?

"You better look at this first." The elder took two sheets of paper from beside him and handed them to Ji Anning.

"What is this?" Ji Anning asked as she looked down.

When she saw the words "Mother and Son Confirmation Result" on one of the sheets, she shuddered violently.

Looking further down, she was shocked to see her own name, and... Yang Yufang.

Ji Anning instinctively pushed it away, "Grandpa, what are you doing? I won’t look, I don’t want to see."

It was the first time she had said no to him, her face filled with panic, then she turned to get out of the car, "Stop the car. I want to get out."

"Anning!" the elder bellowed, grabbing Ji Anning’s arm with one hand and holding up the report with the other, forcing her to look, "Look carefully, this is the DNA confirmation result between you and Yang Yufang. The result shows that you are mother and daughter."

Then he discarded the top sheet, revealing another underneath for paternity testing, "This is your DNA test result with Ji Weisen. You are the grandfather’s biol..."

"No!"

Ji Anning turned around and yelled at the elder, cutting him off, "Impossible, my parents are in City C. My dad is Li Hai, my mom is Li Fen. My name is Li Nianjia. I don’t want to hear it. You’re lying."

She covered her ears, closing her eyes, refusing to listen or see.

The elder, looking at her, felt pity, yet was compelled to be stern. He said, "I know you can’t accept this, but, child, you must face it, you and Chicheng are truly uncle and niece."

"No, no, no, Grandpa, you’re lying, you’re lying." Ji Anning shook her head furiously, finally breaking down and crying, "I want to be with my uncle, I love him, and he loves me too."

Weeping inconsolably, she grabbed the elder’s arm and knelt down inside the cramped car cabin, "Grandpa, please, please don’t stop us. I was born unfortunate, but I will study hard, I will learn to do everything well, I will take care of people better than all those rich young ladies, please, I beg you."

She kept banging her head against the car seat, incessantly.

"Get up," the elder tried to pull Ji Anning up, but she was stubborn and he couldn’t move her. He quickly instructed the driver at the front, "Find a quiet place to stop."

The driver nodded, and before long, the car stopped. Then he opened the door, stepped out, and stood by the car.

Only Ji Anning and the elder were left inside the car.

Ji Anning continued to knock her head, begging humbly.

"You are a good child. You should understand that you can no longer continue this mistake."
