Chapter 377 - 371: Going to Sleep Over a Disagreement (Part 25)

He looked around anxiously, "Anning?"

It had been five hours since Ji Anning had messaged him, and she was unfamiliar with this place, and it was so cold. Where could she go?

Moreover, given her stubborn nature, she definitely wouldn’t leave the area to find a comfortable and warm place.

Ji Chicheng grew more and more anxious as he thought about it.

Just then, his phone rang. Thinking it was Ji Anning calling, he excitedly took the phone out of his pocket. When he saw the caller was Qi Helian, he felt a moment of disappointment, his tone urgent, "Speak quickly."

His gaze still searched around.

"I’ve got an event here that’s pretty fun. Bring Anning with you tomorrow."

Ji Chicheng stopped his blind searching and frowned, "Do you know she’s here?"

"Of course." Qi Helian’s tone was quite smug, "We took a plane together. I brought her here."

On hearing this, Ji Chicheng couldn’t help but curse, "Then why the hell didn’t you tell me?"

If he didn’t have to make a call, he would have smashed his phone. He rubbed his brow in frustration, took a moment to adjust his emotions, then said, "Qi Helian, you brought her out of the country without telling me. It’s freezing here. You brought her and didn’t hand her over to me. If she gets lost, how will you compensate me?"

"She wanted to surprise you." Qi Helian realized there was a problem, his tone became serious, "What’s wrong?"

Upon hearing this, Ji Chicheng’s anger subsided a bit. He chuckled helplessly and raised an eyebrow, "Where’s the surprise?"

His heart tickled by Qi Helian’s words ’She wanted to give you a surprise,’ his gaze began searching blindly again, like a radar.

"I’m here."

Suddenly, a familiar girl’s voice, carrying a trace of post-sleep laziness, came from the corner of the yard’s entrance.

Ji Chicheng’s handsome, peach-blossom eyes instantly brightened.

"You have nothing to do with this anymore."

He said disdainfully to Qi Helian, then immediately hung up the phone and turned around to look in the direction from which the voice came.

At first sight of the girl emerging from the corner, he dashed over and hugged her tightly.

Ji Anning, trembling with cold, suddenly felt warm, and her eyes teared up. She sniffled, her tone involuntarily filled with grievance, "Uncle, why did you only come back now?"

She had been walking around here blindly on her own for hours, unable to find him, and her phone had died.

She thought he didn’t live here and wouldn’t come back.

Ji Chicheng tightened his arms around her, keenly feeling Ji Anning’s shivering body. Her skin was icy cold. His palm tenderly stroked the back of her head, "I’m sorry, I’ll never turn off my phone again."

"Uncle, you actually said sorry." Ji Anning looked up in surprise at Ji Chicheng.

It was convenient for Ji Chicheng to kiss her, which he did lightly like a dragonfly skimming the water, then frowned at her with a reproachful yet indulgent gaze.

"This is Country M. You’re abroad. Did you think you were still at home?"

He chided her softly, took her by the hand, and while fishing for the keys to unlock the door, said, "Let’s go inside. I’ll make you something to eat."

The yard door opened, and the thick snow crunched underfoot.

Ji Chicheng opened the front door, and a gust of warm air hit them. Ji Anning couldn’t wait to get inside to warm up.
