Chapter 362 - 356: Falling Asleep at a Disagreement (Part 10)

She supported Yang Yufang, wiping her tears while they walked back.

The dog, now well-behaved, followed them silently.

After a long walk, Ji Anning couldn’t help but look back, casting a deep glance at the three graves, enveloped by an appropriately somber mood.

...

The dinner was personally prepared by Yang Yufang, with Ji Anning and Zhang’s wife assisting her.

The table was filled mostly with green vegetables.

Just as the last soup was served, Yang Yufang, while taking off her apron, told Ji Anning, who was arranging the chopsticks, "Anning, go call Jingfeng to eat."

"I..." Ji Anning hesitated, pursing her lips before finally nodding, "Alright then."

She put down the chopsticks and turned to leave the dining room.

This house was rather old, renovated over a decade ago, with somewhat aged but good quality furniture, kept meticulously intact.

The TV in the living room was on, displaying a film that had been released not long ago, playing from a DVD as there was no TV signal.

On the expansive European-style sofa, Ji Jingfeng lay, not watching the screen but instead staring blankly at the chandelier above.

Ji Anning walked over quietly, "Jingfeng, Mom is calling you to eat."

She didn’t approach him, calling out from a distance before she turned to head back to the dining room.

"Ji Anning, I really want to strangle you."

Suddenly, Jingfeng stood up, chased after her, caught her in his arms, lifted her, and threw her onto the sofa.

He didn’t give Ji Anning any chance to escape; his towering frame immediately pressed down on her, using his knees to control her legs and hands pinning down her shoulders.

His face twisted fiercely as he glared at her, "By what right? By what right did you kill my child and treat Bai Guo so cruelly? Why should I tolerate your disgusting relationships? Why is my blood grandson less important than his illegitimate child outside? Why does he protect you, a lowly and promiscuous daughter-in-law, rather than believe in me?"

His whole body radiated a cold bitterness.

His expression was one of unyielding fury, as if he wanted to tear Ji Anning to shreds.

Ji Anning was terrified, "Jingfeng, what are you doing?"

It wasn’t Jingfeng she feared, but the scene being witnessed by Yang Yufang.

"Are you scared now? Are you afraid of dying?" Jingfeng’s emotions were somewhat out of control as he grabbed Ji Anning’s collar, leaned in close, and roared in a low voice, "Do you know that Bai Guo can no longer have children because of you?"

His eyes were bloodshot, the pain he felt for Bai Guo was indescribable when he mentioned him.

Upon the mention of the child, Ji Anning’s eyes also reddened, and she stared coldly at Jingfeng, "Maybe you two truly love each other, but does that give you the right to hurt me for your own sake? How am I to blame?"

Her eyes gradually misted over, her voice choked up, and she continued, "Jingfeng, we grew up together; when you treat me cruelly, why don’t you ask yourself why you are being so cruel to me?"

As she spoke, she pushed against Jingfeng’s chest and, catching him off guard, pushed him away forcefully, then took the opportunity to escape.

Jingfeng sat up, watching the fleeing Ji Anning with a cold, harsh glare, gnashing his teeth.

Ji Chicheng, you better stay in power forever because one day, I will repay you and Ji Anning double for today’s humiliation and the harm to Bai Guo.
