Chapter 335 - 214: Reconciliation and Deepening Feelings [7,000 Words]
Car horns were blaring.
Nora Scott’s reverie abruptly ended, her thoughts being pulled back.
In the open parking lot at the square, all the parking spots were taken, as the music festival had just finished and the place was packed. It took quite a while for Nora Scott and Pedro Langley to get to where they parked their car.
However, as soon as they reached the car, they both stopped simultaneously without getting in.
Nora Scott strolled around, taking a casual walk, observing the situation roughly before returning to Pedro, who was preparing to call the police.
"That’s ruthless, all four tires slashed."
Nora Scott raised an eyebrow and asked with interest, "Who did you tick off?"
Pedro Langley seemed a bit regretful, "Didn’t even have time to tick anyone off."
Since coming to Anchel, he had been mostly doing business, and his cooperation with the military had been pleasant. If he had to count, the only people he might have ’annoyed’ were the helpers and the cook at Nora Scott’s Tofu Shop.
The call to the police hadn’t been connected yet when a youth walked by sneakily behind them.
With so many people around, in quite a chaotic scene, it was hard to stand out. By the time Nora Scott realized something was wrong, the youth suddenly snatched Pedro Langley’s phone and sprinted off.
As he ran, he kept looking back, waving the phone at them, flipping them the middle finger. His annoying attitude was just shy of having "Come chase me" written across his forehead.
"Damn it."
Nora Scott cursed through clenched teeth.
She pulled off her raincoat and dashed after the guy, disappearing like a gust of wind.
Pedro Langley wanted to say, "It’s so obvious, it’s a setup," but before he could speak, he saw Nora Scott darting like an arrow, leaping over two cars to intercept the youth. His temples throbbed with pain.
This reckless fool!
Helplessly, Pedro Langley had to follow along.

In the rain-soaked street, a car was parked alongside it.
"They’re here, they’re here."
On the passenger seat, Benjamin Durant was peering through binoculars, explaining the situation to Humphrey Jennings next to him.
"First out is our cunning little squad, followed closely by the smooth talker..."
His words paused for a second, then Benjamin Durant erupted with a curse, "Damn it, how can it be my Uncle?!"
"Where’s the pretty boy?"
Benjamin Durant shockingly shifted the binoculars, trying to spot Pedro Langley in the narrow, obscure alley.
With the driver’s window open, Humphrey Jennings, holding a cigarette between his fingers, puffed away while listening to Benjamin Durant’s constant chatter. He stuck out a long arm, grabbed the binoculars from Benjamin’s hand, and glanced from afar through two long lines of traffic.
By this point, Nora Scott had already engaged in a fight with a group ambushing her, while Pedro Langley, who arrived a bit slower, stayed on the side, silently watching.
He didn’t intervene or cause trouble.
Furrowing his brows irritably, Humphrey Jennings tossed the binoculars back to Benjamin Durant, "Is this what you call ’getting him’?"
"I wanted to test his feelings for my Uncle!" Benjamin Durant said in exasperation. "In such a critical moment, if he chickened out, my Uncle would definitely not fancy him."
Humphrey Jennings: "..."
However, you underestimated your Uncle’s combat skills; this small scene doesn’t even require assistance.
But that pretty boy...
He really has the face to just stand there?
Humphrey Jennings’ expression was stormy, shrouded by a mass of dark clouds.
After a long pause, Humphrey Jennings spat out two words, "Get out."
"Okay."
Without understanding, Benjamin Durant responded instinctively, grabbed an umbrella and binoculars, and got out of the SUV.
As he landed, not having time to open the umbrella, he suddenly heard the engine roar and looked into the car. There was Humphrey Jennings, who had just said "get out," sitting there steady as a mountain, his face gloomy. He pressed the accelerator, and the car instantly sped away, splashing dirty water onto Benjamin’s pants.
Benjamin Durant: "..." Brotherly love, huh?!
Watching the car ruthlessly and decisively drive away, Benjamin Durant took a deep breath and quickly pulled out his mobile phone to call Humphrey Jennings.
Canceled, he was relentless, continuing to call.
On the third try, the call finally went through.
"Humphrey, what do you mean—" Benjamin Durant began to reprimand.
Before he could finish, Humphrey Jennings interrupted with a cold voice, "I don’t want to ride with an idiot."
Benjamin Durant: "..."
Resentment!
That’s definitely resentment!
The rain kept pouring, quickly wetting his hair, cheeks, and clothes. Having had the call cut off, Benjamin Durant slightly raised his head, looking at the sky tinged with a faint blush under the city lights, just feeling that this world...
