Otome Game Mob Villain

Chapter 561

Chapter 561

"Your name... could it be 'Iria'?"

"...Wrong. But you are my enemy."

As she answered, a magical wave surged, and arrows flew from nowhere.

"Ugh...?!"

Memory and I quickly leaped back, but the arrows seemed to be imbued with some kind of magic, tracking our movements and chasing us swiftly.

We managed to dodge some, but the ones we couldn't avoid, we cut down. However, new arrows continued to assault us from behind her.

"Don't think you can escape my attacks."

"Then, I'll just have to attack."

With those words, Memory closed the distance in an instant,  taking  some injuries in the process.

Since he's materialized through magic, he won't "die" from either magical or physical attacks.

However, he can sustain continuous damage.

Or, if he takes a significant amount of damage all at once, he'll dissipate, unable to maintain his form.

Normally, the magic used for materialization returns when it's dispelled.

Just as Memory receives a supply of magic from me while materialized, I can also use Memory's magic.

This seems like an advantage, but it's also a weakness.

If Memory takes enough damage to dissipate, I'll lose all the magic used to materialize him.

Spear-type magic, spiral spears, body enhancement, body attribute enhancement, magic imbuing, and so on.

Among the various types of magic I can use, Memory's materialization consumes an exceptionally large amount of magic.

If I use it repeatedly, even with my substantial magic reserves, I risk running out.

Summoning Memory as a support magic entity against an overwhelmingly stronger opponent could lead to self-destruction.

Naturally, Memory understood this well as he closed the distance with the bird-masked girl.

He must have judged that her attacks wouldn't cause enough damage to be a concern.

Dodging her fierce attacks, Memory reached right in front of her, his right arm igniting with a flickering red flame.

"How about this? Blazing Demon Spear Fist!"

"I can see through everything you're thinking."

As if she had anticipated his move, she dodged at the last moment, drawing a sword from her waist and delivering a sharp slash.

In the next instant, Memory's right arm was severed and dissipated.

"What...?!"

With wide eyes, Memory's chest was pierced by her sword.

"You're made of magic, so this won't kill you. But judging from your right arm earlier, there's a limit to how long you can maintain your  presence . Let's see how you handle this."

As soon as she said that, a lightning bolt erupted from her sword, and Memory's face twisted in agony.

It seemed the intense electric current was affecting the magic that maintained his form, leaving him unable to move.

Moreover, the continuous damage from the lightning was so severe that even with my magic supply, his regeneration couldn't keep up, and he couldn't maintain his form.

I wanted to help, but even as I faced her, the barrage of homing arrows she controlled didn't let up.

In fact, with Memory immobilized, the number of arrows targeting me increased.

I had no choice. I activated "Flame Spear Triple Style."

I generated sixteen flame spears around me and unleashed them all at once.

Flame Spear Triple Style maintains the same power as a regular flame spear but has homing capabilities equivalent to the second style, even without visual contact with the target.

Naturally, the magic consumption is significantly higher than previous spear-type spells.

I had to tone down the power a bit, but I infused enough firepower to engulf the incoming arrows.

"Tch...? Clever trick."

Seeing the arrows burned away by the flame spears, she immediately pulled her sword from Memory and leaped into the air.

"Good decision, but these spears will follow you."

The flame spears soared upward, chasing her.

But she generated lightning orbs with both hands, one after another, and collided them with the flame spears, neutralizing them in an instant.

The explosions rained down, and black smoke filled the air.

Even though I had reduced the power, the fact that she could neutralize the flame spears with lightning orbs of that magnitude was something no ordinary mercenary or adventurer could do.

"...You look suspicious as hell, but I'm really curious about your background."

"Hmph, take a look in the mirror before you say that. I don't need to hear that from you right now."

"Ah, true. You've got a point."

I had forgotten I was in disguise and scratched my cheek with a wry smile.

Just then, a clear yet thorny voice rang out from above. "Hey. We're done here."

Startled, I looked up to see a bird-like humanoid, similar to the girl I had been facing, flying in the air. She wore a hood and a mask shaped like a bird's beak, but upon closer inspection, there were small holes near the mouth, and long sideburns peeked out from the sides.

What was shocking, however, was that she was holding up the battered Gabriel with just one slender arm.

Judging from her voice and slim build, this new bird-like humanoid was likely also a girl.

Maybe I should probe a little.

"Where do you plan to take him?"

"Huh? Do I really need to tell you that?"

"Cold, aren't you? But don't think you can just escape from us that easily."

So, they really do plan to take him somewhere.

While we were talking, Memory, his arm regenerated, came to my side.

"Sorry. I let my guard down."

"It's fine. You seem okay now."

As I said that, I turned my gaze to the two bird-like humanoids in the air.

"Now it's two against two."

"Ha, you're funny. Whether it's a magic body or whatever, you think you can beat us with that?"

The foul-mouthed bird-like humanoid said that and then threw Gabriel toward the other girl.

"Guh...?!"

"...He's unnecessarily heavy."

The girl on the receiving end grabbed one of Gabriel's legs and dangled him.

She was handling him roughly.

Then, the foul-mouthed bird-like humanoid began to inhale deeply.

What was she planning to do at this point?

As Memory and I braced ourselves, the bird-like humanoid's mouth twisted into a smirk.

"I'll let you hear something special. My beautiful voice."

"Beautiful voice...?"

The next moment, a shockwave of thunderous wind and an ear-piercing high-pitched sound slammed into us.

"What...?!"

I immediately deployed a spherical magic barrier, but it was too late. Memory and I were blown away by the blast and shockwave.

On top of that, the magic barrier couldn't block the ear-splitting sound.

Covering my ears with my hands, I looked ahead and saw the foul-mouthed bird-like humanoid, her mouth wide open, shouting at the top of her lungs, her lips curled into a smirk.
