Chapter 255 We Need To Speed Things Up Now
Chapter 255 We Need To Speed Things Up Now
Luca’s eyes darkened.
"You’re saying... she was already pregnant when you two met?"
Jerry thinned his lips, his mind flashing back to the time he met that lovely young woman.
He was still a young man then, able to pull any woman he wanted, but as soon as they found out he was a smooth talker with a charming smile, but an empty pocket, they left.
Because he didn’t want his background to hold him down, he cut off all ties with his family when he came to the city, but he couldn’t seem to get a good hold of a job.
However, he had no certificate and was unwilling to do any groveling work like hauling bricks.
That was when he met her.
A woman driving a flashy car.
At first, he thought she was entranced by his handsomeness. It didn’t surprise him very much as women usually fell for it and he was looking to enjoying his time with her before she found out he had nothing to offer.
That was, until she mentioned she wanted them to get married.
He was quick to refuse it of course, telling her he didn’t want to be tied down to one woman until she told him their marriage would be one where he’d have his own side of the house and she’d have hers.
She’d provide for him. All he had to do was sit back and do nothing, all she wanted was a father figure for her daughter.
They wouldn’t get intimate and he was allowed to mingle with other women in secret or she’d divorce him.
Thinking of how she much she controlled him, his hands curled into a tight fist.
No wonder when he heard she got into a car accident and died... he was relieved.
That same day, he brought in the woman he had been seeing, along with the daughter they had together before even making the trip to the hospital to claim her body for burial only to be told she was already in the mortuary.
Gritting his teeth, he rasped foolishly, "Lois Fletcher didn’t care about anyone. I was her husband for six years, and I still never found out where she kept important things. She didn’t trust me, and the deed to the house never got passed to me."
"That vile woman controlled me for years, only to leave me with nothing but some money and a measly title of chairman in her company."
"It may seem like a lot, but she did nothing to make them like me, and even gave my shares to her daughter! She totally looked down on me when I was the one doing all the favors!"
Molly couldn’t resist staring him down.
She had seen him display different traits, but this... this was the height of it.
Because she personally dug up information about Jerry for Luca, she knew better than anyone the filth he came from.
Yet here he was, holding such strong animosity toward the only woman who gave him a life.
Even now, his ungrateful ass still thought it was only right to ruin the life of his savior’s daughter to save himself.
A man like this... deserved the worst things in life.
In front of her, Luca happened the share the exact same thought even as a callous and vain man.
He leaned back in his seat, studying Jerry quietly.
Seeing the shift in Luca’s posture, Jerry straightened up, thinking fate was about to shine on him.
However, Luca slowly tilted his head to the side, already envisioning which part of Jerry’s skull he’d blow out once this was over.
For someone with a brain so empty, if he shot him right in the center... would anything even spill out?
"I guess I still do need you to do one more thing for me."
Jerry beamed. "Name anything, and I won’t hesitate."
Luca rose to his feet, walking over to the bar at the side of the room.
Molly and Jerry watched as he pulled out a bottle of Campari, uncorked it, and poured it into a glass.
"Say... something happens to Kelsie. What will happen to her children?"
Jerry thought for a while before sighing, "Well, I suppose as their mother’s registered father, I’ll have to step in as their grandfather. But it’ll be a pain in the ass."
"Laura was wonderful as a child. But Kelsie? Plain awful. And now she has three replicas of herself. Imagine how hellish it’d be. Genuinely curious though... why can’t they just follow their mother?"
Molly’s eyes snapped toward him instantly.
His words stunned her so much, she didn’t control her neck muscles and outrightly made it obvious that what he said had shocked her.
Luca caught this reaction and his eyes darkened considerably.
"What is it, Molinda? Do you have a better plan than he does?"
She shook her head, instantly lowering her eyes again.
"Not at all, Dad. It’s just... they’re kids. Do you have to hurt them?"
He stepped toward her, chuckling.
"Oh, my simple-minded Molinda. Would you rather I wait until they’re teenagers? Don’t you know... the earlier we take care of them, the better?"
He reached for her shoulder and placed a hand on it, squeezing it tightly until she winced from the stinging pain.
Moving his face closer to hers, he spoke into it sternly, "Tonight, you’re not allowed to make mistakes. Do we understand each other?"
"Yes, Dad." She nodded, eyes not meeting his.
He hummed, patting her lightly on the cheek before turning to beckon Jerry over.
"This bottle I just opened tasted amazing. I’ll share it with you while we await news of the triplets coming to live with you... due to the passing of their mother."
"Molly, we’ll have to speed things up now. Knowing Maxwell, it’s only a matter of seconds before he pieces things together. So hurry along now."
Molly bobbed her head in understanding but didn’t move from where she stood.
It wasn’t until she felt his piercing gaze on her that she finally looked up, startled.
"Yo-You don’t mean I have to deal with Kelsie now... right?"
His expression hardened. "I just told you about that sniffling dog from the Kensington family. Your body should already be on its way to the hospital."
Molly blinked, then lowered her eyes and hurried out of the hotel room without another word.
