Chapter 580 580: Raid & Retreat.

Hao Ren stood up from the ground and he looked around only to find that all the people were either immersed in cultivation or they were out of the city, grinding for the demons. He shook his head, and then went out of the city. The sword had calmed down with him cultivating next to it. Hao Ren didn't want to use this weapon because the spirit belonged to the fallen hero of the city. The spirit was not suitable for his path of Dao, it would lose itself in the influence of slaughter. It was just that fibble and driven by a linear emotion.

The young man headed out of the city but he had no idea where he was going to find the demons. The places around this city surely they would have been cleaned up by the Ye Generals, also with the ruines being covered with isolation formations, it won't be attracting any attention from anyone. At this moment, he was not going out with the motive of comprehension of the Slaughter Dao or to increase the level of his understanding and then carve the ruins on the Halo, that was not something he had comprehended till now. Thinking about it, Hao Ren waved his hand and an energy slash shot out from the blade and it rushed at the city wall, and tore it apart like it was made of paper, and asked, "Does this Demon City has any Demon General with balls and guts to duke it out with me?"

The call was loud and it reverberated in the entire place. After a few minutes, their were many demon generals rushed out of the city. Some of them recognized Hao Ren, and one of them yelled, "You Maggot, how dare you come back here? Do you not know how to spell the word death?"

Hao Ren smiled and said, "I can spell it alright but do you ingrates know how to? How about you come here and father shows you how to spell death."

His attitude pissed off the demons and one of them vanished from his spot and dragged a huge sword through the void and then slashed it towards Hao Ren. However, the later just simply moved to the side and then he clenched his fist. The punch flew through the void and created a sonic boom behind it, but the next moment, it crushed the skull of the demon general, causing it to explode like a ripe watermelon which was filled with rotten flesh.

That was it, one punch kill, and the young man looked at the rest of the demon generals and asked, "Do you want to come over and try your luck as well? I mean you all must have been tired of living for so long, no?"

Demon Generals froze, they could not believe that one of them just got killed so brutally and that too by someone on a lower realm. However, one of them had sharp eyes and said, "This human, he didn't use any spiritual augmentation to kill Harim."

That line was a flame that burned all the arrogance these guys had. They could not understand how a human can be this powerful. However, Hao Ren narrowed his gaze at the one who had just spoken and he mumbled, "You ruined my game, dog."

Then, Hao Ren took out his sword, since he was no longer tempering the path of slaughter, he decided that he was going to kill the people directly, and fish out all the merit points before heading back, and that is what he did. He vanished from the spot and what followed was a slaughter with broken corpses,some Demons missed their hands, some missed their legs, but most of them missed out their heads. Hao Ren had even destroyed the immortal demon souls they had. His hatred was not something these guys could bear with. After five minutes, Hao Ren stopped, he had already killed several dozen of demon generals and now he needed to pull back, because he could tell, that the demon behind all these people would be coming over soon.

He retreated at the speed ten times faster than his arrival, and avoided the attack of a Demon Commander. Humans followed the rules that they would not make a move against the experts from the lower realm, but in this eternal battlefield such rules didn't exist. There were only two elements in this world, life and death. You will hide, kill, and betray if you wish to live, and if you are trying to be brave without the capital to back it up, you will die. The essence of this place often boiled down to the fact if one could kill to survive.

Hao Ren had been wondering if this place was some sort of border between the different realms. However, he had not found any such clue. However, he was curious and wanted to know more about this place. After running away from the demon city, Hao Ren came to the ruined city and he found Ye Si sitting in the square and she had been looking at the sword from various angels. Hao Ren asked, "Why are you looking at the sword?"

Hao Ren looked at this battle maniac and said, "Fine, I will cultivate here, you can try to comprehend in silence."

Ye Si nodded and kept sitting on the side before she also closed her eyes. Then Hao Ren didn't hesitate and carved the rune on the halo. The progress was slow, but it was there and so, Hao Ren reached one step closer to his goal.
