Chapter 1517 - 814: Coordinates_2

Jimmy: "Nice to see you again, Mr. Fring."

Gus, smiling, said: "Good morning, Mr. Yang. Is there something I can help you with?"

Jimmy: "A small matter, someone opened fire on our people, and I'm tracking down their whereabouts."

Gus: "Oh? Who dares to openly attack FBI agents? That's a very serious crime."

Jimmy: "That's right, very serious, which is why I must find them. Have you seen that black SUV, Mr. Fring?"

Gus: "No, if I had come across such criminals, I'd certainly report it to you."

Jimmy: "I hope so, you really are a valuable supporter of the DEA. By the way, where are you headed?"

Gus: "Oh, we are just taking a trip to Mexico, I need to discuss a business collaboration with our suppliers."

Jimmy: "What kind of collaboration?"

Gus's smile remained: "Just some business dealings, not something I can disclose."

Jimmy: "Is that so? Seems like you're confident. Hope this trip makes you even more money. Oh, I wonder how long you'll stay in Mexico, if you return, I'd like you to visit the DEA office, there are some matters I'd like to discuss with you."

Gus: "And what might those be?"

Jimmy: "Just a casual chat, like about the workers at the laundry factory and the chicken farm. It seems you value workers' experience highly, sending their clothes to be washed every day, and working overtime at night handling the batter and spices for the chicken restaurant. They seem to have good conditions."

Gus's smile stiffened, waiting a few seconds before saying: "Treating employees well gives them a sense of belonging, boosting work efficiency. That's been my experience over the years."

Jimmy: "Belonging, indeed, they should be grateful to you. However, I have a question, before we observed two people lying on the ground at your chicken farm, with others carrying them onto a truck and driving away. Who were they? Where are they now?"

Gus's smile vanished; the chicken farm's location was carefully chosen by him. Even the only distant dirt slope was under their control, so how did the FBI know?

Gus: "I'm not sure what you mean, I'm usually at the restaurant, I don't know, maybe you'll have to wait until I return to ask others."

Jimmy watched Gus, chuckling softly, "Is that so? Then why did my people see you standing not far from them, with the sound of gunfire on the scene?"

Gus: "Am I being arrested?"

Jimmy: "No, just a casual chat. We are the FBI and DEA, we rely on evidence, not conjecture."

Gus: "Since that's the case, then I'll leave first. We have business matters to handle promptly. Goodbye, Agent Yang."

Jimmy: "Safe travels, goodbye, Mr. Fring."

As Gus turned away, Jimmy spoke again: "Oh, and one last thing, the Salamanca Family doesn't have the capability for certain actions, nor is Borsa easily taken down by Mexican police. I think we'll have more to discuss about these topics later on."

Jimmy watched Gus pause, then continue walking towards his vehicle. Mike and Jesse also got into their car and drove off.

Jimmy turned to look behind him, noticing a white car parked far back, at least several hundred meters away. While Jimmy and Gus talked, it hadn't moved closer. Jimmy got into his car and turned around in the wilderness, but that car also turned around, heading towards the highway, following Gus's vehicle south.

This car seemed to be Gus's bodyguards, since earlier when he passed by that white car, he didn't pay much attention to them, just confirmed they weren't his target and drove on. As expected for a drug lord, Gus wouldn't put himself in danger, so those who attacked the surveillance team were likely one of Gus's bodyguard teams. After firing at the surveillance team, they couldn't stay by Gus to avoid implicating him, so they probably went straight back to Albuquerque.

Previously, Jimmy chased them to prevent Gus from escaping, but when he caught up, he found both of their cars didn't match the ones in the surveillance team's records, so he couldn't take them in and had to let them go.

There's no evidence against Gus now, and those who attacked the surveillance team can't be found. Walter is Jimmy's biggest witness, his interactions with Gus mostly occurred in the laundry factory's lab. Other meeting places were just casual chats, he can't point out the chicken farm or other crime scenes. If he lets him out and raids Gus's laundry factory, it might temporarily restrain Gus, but not enough for a conviction. If an unexpected event occurs at trial, they won't be able to capture him again soon.

Naturally, Jimmy doesn't want to capture someone without being able to convict them. Besides, they have enough money to post bail, making it hard to gather more evidence while they're detained.

Back in Albuquerque, Jimmy stayed near Walter's car wash, waiting for him to show up. Once Walter appeared, Jimmy went over and got him into the car, "You said Jesse Pinkman is your best partner, right?"

Walter nodded, and Jimmy continued: "Today he left for Mexico with Gus and Mike. I'm just letting you know, be careful, I think you might be getting replaced."

Walter said in surprise: "No wonder Jesse didn't show up today." Then fell silent.

Jimmy: "Alright, get ready, I think we might need to act soon. That's all, you can get out now."

Jimmy waited for Walter to exit the car, then drove off.

From what Walter White has told him before, it's clear he has a decent relationship with this Jesse. Now, the situation's interesting, Gus seems very interested in Jesse, and his trip to Mexico with Gus shows Walter's role might no longer be necessary.

If Gus and his team aren't fleeing, then once they return, Walter's role might end. Which means something very unpleasant could happen, maybe Walter will disappear off the face of the earth.

After leaving Walter, Jimmy immediately headed to Hank's house. Gus's ties with the Salamanca Family's assassins aren't close, no direct evidence yet, so it's best for DEA and Jimmy to collaborate on the investigation and apprehension, arresting Gus for methamphetamine trafficking.

Capturing Gus requires a coordinated plan under optimal timing. With many people and locations, the DEA's manpower is more robust. The police might also intervene, but forget sharing credit with the FBI's Albuquerque office, they barely contributed along the way.

After prepping these tasks, it's a matter of waiting for the right moment.

After waiting two days without any word of Gus, Jimmy was really starting to believe he might have fled. Mike and Jesse, who left with Gus, also haven't reappeared, making things complicated. Jimmy was frustrated; without fresh news, he'd have to act. If workers from the laundry and chicken farms also vanished, he'd have zero gains.

Jimmy roamed around with investigations, dejectedly returning to his hotel only to receive a letter at the front desk—no name on it, just a GPS coordinate and Eladio's name inside.

Back in his room, Jimmy quickly checked the coordinates, finding the location is within Mexico, not far from the border. However, the map only marked the coordinates with no satellite image. It's unclear what the place was, only that it was in the wild, not a city.

Maybe it's where Eladio was hiding, Jimmy was puzzled about who could have given him the coordinates?
