North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 1502 807: Salamanca

Chapter 1502 807: Salamanca

Gus moved quickly. Mike arranged for the lab to shut down, and those responsible for transportation and distribution on his side also got the message and began to hide. Previously, Tyrus and Victor handled these notifications, but now with the disruption in the process, some matters had to be dealt with promptly.

Victor had to disappear because he was found at the scene where the chemist Gale was killed. As for Tyrus, it was truly a pity; due to Jimmy's involvement, this task had to be done by someone brave, meticulous, and highly secretive. Tyrus, who had been assigned to monitor Jesse Pinkman, was the most convenient option.

Previously, everything was normal when Tyrus installed the tracker. But this time, when he went to replace the tracker, he was directly discovered by Jimmy. Clearly, Jimmy noticed it as soon as the tracker was placed. Such vigilance is somewhat terrifying, however, Tyrus's identity certainly won't be exposed. If it's just an official investigation, it won't link back to himself.

Gus didn't know Jimmy's next move, but without a doubt, he was already being watched by the DEA. If he didn't want additional troubles, it was best not to target Jimmy again and first address the DEA and police issues.

However, Gus and his team had a rough idea these days. Jimmy was investigating the attack on DEA agent Hank, which was done by the Salamanca family. The family had an old man and a young man, but one was in Albuquerque and the other in Mexico. To connect them to the two assassin brothers, a middleman was needed, and some arrangements had to be made.

For drug cartels, they certainly had lots of people, but most were low-level workers. There weren't many mid-level personnel, as they often held many secrets. For Gus, the more secrets they knew, the greater the potential threat to his team. So after Mike joined the team, most people focused only on one line of work, and significant tasks were arranged by Mike and Tyrus.

Now it needed someone to direct Jimmy's attention to Salamanca without affecting their team's subsequent work. Choosing this person was crucial, and now they focused their attention on Gus, arranging everything as quickly as possible.

The surveillance team returned to the DEA building to report. Jimmy looked at the three surveillance team members in surprise: "What happened? Did you lose the target?"

The lead agent nodded: "Sorry, we were disturbed by them. While tracking, we were blocked by another car. They and the monitored car both got away. We returned to the target's house and monitored it for some time. The people inside were still there, but the target didn't reappear."

Jimmy nodded: "Thank you, everyone, take a break first. Once we have more clues, we'll need you to follow up again."

In such a situation, complaints were out of the question. The surveillance team clearly tried to make up after losing Jesse earlier, not through neglect or deliberate action, and that was enough. How could anyone guarantee every surveillance and tracking operation would succeed?

But now the clues weren't many. Jimmy could only continue investigating. Gus wasn't his main target, so he still had to follow up on Jesse, that kid.

The surveillance team rested, and Jimmy set out again. Previously, he had photographed two of Jesse's friends, one being Badger, and the other Skinny Pete. Both were locals with records, obviously having committed minor offenses before, common in every city, without specific need to focus on. But now that Jesse disappeared, he had to start with them.

Besides them, another person of interest was the lawyer. Yet the lawyer's contacts were too varied, and tracking a lawyer could easily cause trouble, like complaints. So it was best to leave him alone unless there were clear leads and evidence.

-----------------

Hank knew Jimmy didn't have many friends in Albuquerque, so he invited him to the house, and this time it was a family gathering, his brother-in-law's family also attending.

Jimmy didn't refuse. After working a week straight, even if he wasn't tired, he needed some relaxation.

Jimmy had met Hank's brother-in-law before, but that was years ago when he first came to Albuquerque. Back then, he suggested Hank to promote anti-drug awareness by cooperating with schools, with his brother-in-law Walter helping connect with the principal. But this time meeting Walter, he noticed he shaved his head.

Jimmy: "Hi, Walter, good evening."

Hank had mentioned to Walter that Jimmy would come over, so he wasn't surprised, greeted Jimmy with a smile, then introduced his family.

Dinner was quite lavish, and during the conversation, it was revealed that Walter had lung cancer, which fortunately was now under control. Considering lung cancer's low cure rate, it was indeed lucky.

However, Walter was very concerned about Jimmy investigating Hank's attack. He inquired about the investigation's progress, but Jimmy politely declined to share details, since it was a major case. Without results, Jimmy wouldn't disclose anything, not even to Walter, Hank's relative.

Seeing Walter's displeased expression, Hank quickly changed the topic, "Walter, Jimmy is from the FBI, they have regulations. These cases can't be discussed. But, I can show you something interesting."
