Chapter 1397 - 755: Handover

Chapter 1397 - 755: Handover

In fact, Jimmy and Mark's actions were extremely necessary. After chaos erupted in the villa complex, the security guards originally patrolling the dock and nearby areas also realized something was wrong. Jimmy spotted two security guards in suits running toward the dock from a distance and immediately sped up, leaving Mark far behind.

"FBI, stop!" Jimmy shouted while chasing after them. He finally caught up as the speedboat was starting up. The two security guards didn't shoot at Jimmy, even though they were armed. They just wanted to leave quickly, showing they hadn't completely lost their senses yet.

Jimmy also didn't fire his gun. Instead, as he reached the side of the dock, he lunged directly at the moving speedboat. After his physical conditioning improved, Jimmy had rarely done such extreme pursuits, but now he felt the adrenaline rush of surpassing his usual limits.

As the speedboat started accelerating, Jimmy grabbed onto its side, pressed down hard, and climbed aboard. In such a confined space, Jimmy was well-versed in hand-to-hand combat. The guards had barely resisted when Jimmy knocked them down. The guard steering the boat was also pulled over by Jimmy, making both guards tumble together.

"FBI, don't move."

Jimmy drew his gun and pointed it at them. Both raised their hands as Jimmy handcuffed them. After disarming them, he turned the wheel, steering the boat in a wide arc back toward the dock.

Mark had already reached the dock, and when he saw the boat turning back, he couldn't help but let out a wry smile. Initially, he only thought that Jimmy had more experience and better shooting skills, but now it seemed even his physical fitness was far behind. Maybe he needed to intensify his training, as being around Jimmy gave a crushing sense of inadequacy.

Jimmy was not familiar with driving the boat, but the security guard was clearly adept. Jimmy learned while asking questions, quickly figuring it out, and reduced speed ahead of time, slowly coasting to the dock where Mark helped bring both guards ashore.

Jimmy: "Mark, interrogate them carefully to find out why they tried to escape. I need to go change my clothes."

When climbing onto the boat, Jimmy's legs had already been submerged, leaving his lower body soaked, which was quite troublesome. He definitely needed to go back, freshen up, and change clothes before continuing, otherwise, his appearance would be too embarrassing.

These two security guards definitely had issues, though their exact nature was unclear. The island's owner, Harriton, would never personally handle certain matters; it's likely the involvement was from a manager or security personnel, and perhaps they could reveal some of Harriton's hidden crimes.

Luckily, there was still a pair of leather shoes in the suitcase. Otherwise, Jimmy would have to find slippers somewhere. Unfortunately, the clothes and pants had been worn the day before and hadn't been washed yet, so he would have to make do for now.

Returning to the main villa building, it had already turned into a makeshift prison. Rooms were secured by agents after confirming there were no escape routes, locking people inside. Agents would later conduct individual temporary interrogations.

Jimmy found Agent Wright: "Agent Wright, did you notify the Miami office? What did they say?"

Agent Wright, also busy, paused his note-taking as he heard Jimmy, stood up, and said, "Let's talk outside."

Jimmy nodded. They left the villa and stepped outside, where Agent Wright took out his pack of cigarettes and offered one to Jimmy, who didn't refuse and lit it up. "Can you tell me now?"

Agent Wright took a deep drag and finally spoke, "I've notified them, but they want us to temporarily control the situation here. Someone will come over later to take charge of the kidnapping and confinement case. They instructed us to not divide our attention and focus only on our own case."

Jimmy frowned: "What? Why? We can handle this case here."

Agent Wright curled his lips, "Our case is the yacht explosion involving multiple billionaire deaths. That's what they're most concerned about. Agent Yang, I wish I could decline, but I can't."

Jimmy, frowning and smoking, glanced toward the villa where agents were busy and then looked at Agent Wright. "This is a related case. Maybe the explosion was originally for the kidnapped victims?"

Agent Wright shrugged, "I've said the same on the phone, but I can't explain why days after the explosion, these women are still here and haven't been rescued. Trust me, I don't like this either."

Feeling a headache, Jimmy scratched his head. This was not part of his plan. He intended to use the explosion investigation to uncover the kidnapped and detained girls here, thereby solidifying Harriton's charges. As for the explosion itself, he knew it was orchestrated by professionals from the hotel side, so it wasn't his main concern since they were uncapturable.

Now, with the Miami office taking over this case, his subsequent plans to substantiate these charges may be delayed; he wanted to use a larger case to mask a smaller one. If the cases were split, the number of details Jimmy needed to investigate on the explosion alone would be too vast, and the outcome would be futile.

Jimmy nodded to Wright: "Thanks, Agent Wright. You keep following up on the investigation. I'll see what I can do."
