Chapter 1392 - 752: Losing His Temper (Part 2)

Jimmy: "We contacted the Harriton Foundation, and they confirmed that they had already provided the yacht's GPS tracking information to our agents the day after the explosion. However, I didn't hear anyone mention this intelligence at yesterday's meeting."

Wright's expression relaxed a lot. "Maybe they just forgot. I'll go ask about it."

"Thud" "Crack" Jimmy's right fist slammed down hard on Wright's desk, creating a crack on the surface.

It was just a composite board, not solid wood. Jimmy originally just wanted to emphasize his anger, but he used too much force, and the crack immediately drew everyone's attention to the desk before it shifted back to Jimmy.

Jimmy raised his voice and said, "I was brought here to investigate this case to finish the investigation as soon as possible. I need all the information, all of it. Regardless of what you think, give me the investigative intelligence. I'll determine whether the clues are useful, not for you to withhold them."

Wright was still in shock over Jimmy smashing his desk with one punch, and as Jimmy emphasized his authority, Wright just nodded dumbly. "I understand. I'll confirm with them again."

Jimmy stared at Wright for a few seconds, nodded, and said, "I'll be waiting in my office."

With that, he turned around and left, with Mark following him out of the large office.

Wright was just a senior agent and didn't have a private office, so everyone else in the office had seen and heard Jimmy's outburst. The office was so quiet it seemed empty, with everyone's gaze following Jimmy until he completely disappeared from their sight. Then there was a burst of "wows."

A few people put down what they were doing and gathered in front of Wright's desk, staring at the crack. "Fxxk!" Various exclamations of surprise sounded one after another, as even a composite board doesn't crack easily. "Austin, who is he?"

Agent Wright gritted his teeth and sat down without replying. "Get back to work, don't gather around here."

The others, seeing Wright's expression, also knew it wasn't a simple matter and left Wright's area.

Wright's expression changed as he got up, grabbed his suit, and walked while putting it on, soon arriving at a superior's office. Not long after, he left the office expressionless.

With Jimmy's level increased, his file also received a corresponding security clearance. Agents like Wright couldn't directly access his file, so they had to check with superiors.

Wright described Jimmy's outburst in the office, and his superior directly accessed the system to check Jimmy's file. Not only him, but even the superior felt a chill seeing the records. It became clear that Jimmy wasn't just some pretender looking for glory but truly a force to be reckoned with.

The series of major case-solving records alone were enough to make one's palms sweat—explosion cases, hijackings, mass shootings, serial killings, jailbreaks, etc. No one in the Miami office had such a rich track record, and records of so many criminals killed as well. This young Asian man who appeared excessively youthful genuinely had talent.

Wright sat at his place for quite a while, then picked up the phone to notify a few people to return as soon as possible. Any private dealings previously made were now very untimely, and causing trouble could easily entangle oneself.

By the time the afternoon shift started, a folder had already appeared on Jimmy's desk. Jimmy opened it and, sure enough, it contained the yacht's navigation records. The yacht, as a high-value collateral, required comprehensive checks and monitoring by the insurance company, naturally including the GPS information on the yacht.

According to the records, the yacht had stopped at three harbors over the past week: the Miami port, an island in the Caribbean, and the Puerto Rico port. Before that, it was in Los Angeles. From the trajectory, it seemed the yacht set out from Los Angeles, paused briefly in Puerto Rico, then stayed on the island for four days, before heading to Miami. It stayed overnight at the Miami port and exploded soon after leaving.

Jimmy: "Mark, find Agent Wright and gather some people who currently don't have other investigation tasks for a meeting."

Mark nodded and left the office. By the time Jimmy returned to the previous office, Agent Wright and another agent were already waiting in the meeting room.

Jimmy: "Agent Wright, this GPS trajectory has clarified all the yacht's movements. We now need to investigate the Miami port to find out if anyone interacted with the yacht during its stay there, to see if the explosives were placed there."

Wright: "Agent Yang, our people have already contacted the Port Authority, and we have obtained the dock surveillance footage. On that night, besides a food and beverage restock and fuel resupply, no external people interacted with the yacht."

This was another piece of information not previously mentioned during the meeting. Jimmy gritted his teeth while looking at Wright, then nodded slightly. "Send me the surveillance footage, and also contact Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands for their dock surveillance information. Mark, follow up on this."

Agent Wright glanced at Jimmy somewhat uneasily. "That island is owned by Elias Hariton; he purchased it as his private island over a decade ago."

Jimmy: "Then that's our main investigation direction. Whoever orchestrated such an explosion attack must have had a clear target. Hariton is the biggest target; his movements must be closely monitored. His itineraries and private island must be investigated. Get ready, we'll head there for investigation as soon as possible."

Jimmy immediately set down the plan to travel to the island. However, before this, he wanted to confirm the Miami port's surveillance information first, both for investigative needs and to see if he could professionally identify who was engaged by the hotel for the task.

After leaving the meeting room, Wright quickly came to Jimmy's office with a portable hard drive, plugged it into the computer, and played the video.

The Miami port's surveillance was quite good; there were two cameras covering the dock where the yacht was moored. Though it was nighttime, the dock lights were still bright, clearly illuminating the road leading to the dock.

The video had already been edited, covering the yacht's docking and departure over several hours, making normal play impossible. Jimmy fast-forwarded the video, pausing each time someone approached or left the yacht to verify all information.

Wright sat next to Jimmy, and each time Jimmy paused, Wright could find corresponding personnel information from his notes. Besides a few dock workers bringing supplies, no one else approached the yacht. In fact, the people on the yacht didn't disembark but stayed on board all night, with the yacht's lights remaining on. Under such circumstances, approaching the yacht to plant explosives seemed unlikely.

Jimmy shared his speculation, and Agent Wright agreed with this view. But their original investigation plans were halted when notified that headquarters took over the case. Now that Jimmy proposed to focus on investigating Hariton's island, they had to follow his arrangements.

The Miami agents weren't fools; what Jimmy could think of, they could too. However, once the case was taken over, they lost the motivation to investigate, leaving the crucial island uninvestigated for four or five days.

Jimmy instructed Wright to notify other agents to quickly verify identities, including those of the three business people and whether they had any enemies, as perhaps Hariton was just unluckily implicated by others. Of course, the investigation into Hariton himself must also continue.
