Chapter 1387 750: Professionals
Chapter 1387 750: Professionals
The hotel's intelligence gathering capabilities are quite strong, or perhaps it's their partners who are adept. Charon quickly acquired a list of Island Masters; although this information is semi-public, it's often placed under the company's name, making it a bit difficult to ascertain who specifically holds it.
However, the names on these lists are rather intimidating, since they are all wealthy individuals, with substantial assets, especially the hidden tycoons.
Investigating their other situations once again, Charon approached Winston with a stack of documents and handed them over.
Winston flipped through the documents, "Have all these been confirmed?"
Charon: "Yes."
Winston thought for a moment and said, "Give them to Jimmy, I think he should understand how difficult this is."
Charon picked up the documents but did not leave immediately, instead standing there in contemplation.
Winston asked: "Is there anything else?"
Charon said: "What if he insists?"
Winston paused for a few seconds and said: "That's his problem then."
-----------------
Jimmy was not reckless in contacting Justin; from any angle, Justin did nothing wrong. Initially, the route Justin prepared for Jimmy took so much time, but it's believed Justin was entirely considering both his and Jimmy's perspectives, using personal networks to set the route for Jimmy. However, later on, Winston got wind of it, likely because he used hotel channels to expose some information, allowing Winston to intervene and learn about Jimmy's plan.
And the relationship between Justin and Winston is evidently closer than that with Jimmy. Such a slip-up is believed not to be Justin's intention; hence, reaching out to Justin right now is clearly inappropriate.
This incident served as a warning to Jimmy: to ensure everything remains confidential, one mustn't hastily use other people's channels, or there will certainly be risks of leaks.
In fact, Jimmy did not necessarily have to do this himself. His earlier considerations were merely due to personal views of right and wrong, coupled with the fact that there was indeed a batch of cash available, so he decided to act on his own. Now that there's a problem, he must consider whether to continue.
The world is so big, with so many troubling things, he can't possibly solve them all on his own, or he would directly go and clean out those drug dens, which aligns more with his values.
Before finishing work, Jimmy received a call from Charon. Naturally, the call didn't cover much content; Charon simply mentioned he had some things to hand over to him.
Jimmy didn't decline. After work, he went directly to the appointment location, not at the hotel, but in a small park with few people and no surveillance. Jimmy walked towards Charon, who was sitting on a bench, and sat beside him, "Hi, Charon."
Charon: "Mr. Yang, these are the documents Mr. Winston asked me to pass on to you."
Charon did not indulge in excessive pleasantries; he directly took the documents out of his briefcase and handed them to Jimmy.
Although it was after work hours, the brightness was sufficient to barely see the words on the printout paper. Jimmy took a quick glance and frowned. The documents were detailed, more extensive than his own investigation. He only got specific island names and the names of shadow figures from someone's mouth, whereas these documents included some of the person's assets and background information, and even a list at the end.
"This list?"
Charon: "It's not comprehensive, just information from a certain channel. These people have all frequently participated in events he organizes..."
Jimmy: "All potential supporters?"
Charon: "Yes."
Jimmy closed the documents, looked around, then stared at a patch of grass in front of him contemplating. "Charon, help me arrange a meeting with Winston."
Charon: "Alright, Mr. Yang."
Jimmy: "Thank you for the documents, you can take them back now."
Jimmy returned the documents to Charon, stood up, "Thanks, goodbye."
The accuracy of these documents is certainly impeccable. In fact, Jimmy wasn't surprised that Winston and the others could obtain such information. It's only the fact that they managed to get it all within two days with the limited intelligence he provided that surprised Jimmy.
He hadn't disclosed his target, and Winston and the others only knew he was going to an island in the Caribbean, where there are numerous islands. Identifying which island, who the target is, afterward acquiring targeted data and a list, this is something beyond the capability of ordinary intelligence networks.
The list features many renowned individuals. Even if Jimmy wasn't familiar with them, just the forces represented by these names made him realize that should he carry out certain actions, hiding under the scrutiny of these individuals would be truly difficult, especially when no evidence is needed.
-----------------
In the hotel's conference room, Charon led Jimmy inside, then left the room, leaving just Jimmy and Winston.
Winston: "I think you've probably come to a conclusion."
Jimmy: "Yes, thank you, Winston."
Winston: "Whatever you do, consider the consequences carefully. I hope you understand, some matters are not that simple."
Jimmy sighed: "I just can't stand these people and these things, that's all."
The matter he's been hoping to accomplish recently suddenly took a turn; now Jimmy is somewhat dispirited, looking as though he isn't well.
Winston got up, walked to his desk, picked up a bottle of alcohol, poured two glasses, and handed one to Jimmy, "Very disappointed?"
