Chapter 1352 - 732: Night of Chaos (Part 2)
Both guns ran out of bullets, and the five people at the main door had all met their grim fate. Jimmy glanced at the house; there was not a single person standing inside, but he could see two people crawling slowly towards the door. The gunfire outside ceased, and when they called out to the exterior and received no response, they stopped.
Jimmy wasn't in a hurry. He reached over and patted down a corpse on the ground, found a magazine, and swapped it in. On the other side, three more people remained on alert, though they didn't reveal themselves. If Jimmy hadn't been able to see them, he would have thought they had already fled.
Again, sneaking around the back of the house, Jimmy had just shot one of them when the other two unloaded their bullets onto the corner where Jimmy was, making him drop to the ground, then crawl behind the wall.
Fortunately, the house wasn't purely wood; instead, it was a wooden framework set on a raised foundation, offering some protection once prone.
The two were armed with rifles, and the continuous shooting was both suppressive and a quick way to empty their ammo. They were obviously scared, and only reacted once their bullets were gone, crouching down to quickly change magazines. Before they could reload and get back up, Jimmy took each of them out with one shot, then stood up, brushed the dirt off himself, and headed for the main entrance.
The perimeter was now empty of people standing. Although the number of dead was three fewer than Jimmy had tracked exiting the city, at least in his view, there were no other living beings. He could only guess the three lucky ones had managed to escape during the gunfight, and they had run swiftly. It was crucial to quickly find out how to leave here; otherwise, he might face a large number of gang members arriving.
Jimmy reached the front door, forcefully kicked Carlos Escobar, who was crawling out of the house, flipping him over, "Now, we can have a good talk. How were these girls brought here?"
-----------------
"Bang bang," two shots, and Jimmy ended the lives of Carlos and the buyer. He glanced at the six girls inside the house. They were a major problem; he couldn't take them out of Mexico, nor could he keep them with him.
Jimmy spoke to the girls in English, "You are safe now, but this place is not. You need to leave immediately. Where are you from? Does anyone know how to drive?"
Hearing Jimmy's words, one slightly taller girl looked at him in surprise, "I'm from Montreal, Canada. I was kidnapped while touring Houston. I can drive, but I don't have a license."
Jimmy nodded, "And the others?"
Besides one who only spoke Spanish, the others could speak some English. One Canadian, one American, three from Mexico, and one from Costa Rica. Except for the Canadian girl, who is already 15, the others are around 10 years old, making them too young to fend for themselves.
They were all kidnapped from different places and, because of their appearance, were shuffled through several locations before arriving here, where the short guy trained them to serve others. Any resistance was met with beatings, leaving some scars on them.
Jimmy looked at the Canadian girl, "There are a few cars outside. Pick one you can drive and take them to an embassy or consulate after leaving."
"Don't go to the police or alert anyone else. Juárez City is very chaotic now, and it would be dangerous if you were found by other gangs."
He glanced at the house, "You can search here for clothing and cash to use, and leave quickly. They will probably send more people soon."
Jimmy had obtained the information he wanted and couldn't take these people with him. He had no choice but to hope they could seek help at a consulate.
Jimmy knew there was a US consulate in Juárez City, but whether there were consulates or embassies from other countries was uncertain. Yet that's all he could do.
The girl hurriedly grabbed Jimmy, "We don't know the way out. We wouldn't know where to go if we left."
Jimmy was in a quandary. He couldn't just leave them to the gangs. He thought for a moment, "I'll lead you to the US consulate. After that, you're on your own. Now, go pack your things, and don't take any guns."
The girls ran back to their room to change. Jimmy looked at the cars outside. A pickup wouldn't work; too conspicuous with so many people in the back. He had to choose a sedan for them. Luckily, they were small and slender, so they could just about fit in.
Soon they emerged, and Jimmy had turned the sedan around. Now, cramming them inside was just possible. The Canadian girl got in, started the car, and slowly moved forward; only then did Jimmy mount his motorcycle to lead the way, riding slowly enough for the car to follow.
Though it wasn't yet dawn, there weren't many cars on the road, typical for Juárez City. In recent days, ordinary people had taken care of business during daylight, staying home at night. Those wandering the streets tended to have issues.
Despite occasional gunfire nearby that startled them, they reached the vicinity of the US consulate. When the car caught up with Jimmy, he advised them to stay in the consulate and get the others sent away during the day, no matter if the consulate detained them; under no circumstances should they be on the streets at night.
The girls, having been through so much, were very compliant. The Canadian girl drove to the consulate's entrance, heading directly for the guards. Luckily, they didn't crash, and at least weren't shot by the guards.
Seeing them connect with the guards, Jimmy changed direction towards the hospital, unconcerned if they were driven away or detained by the guards; it was no longer his problem, and he certainly couldn't intervene.
After an intense night, when Jimmy returned to the hospital, nobody noticed anything unusual apart from a little dust on his clothes. They discussed leaving for Albuquerque early the next morning and went to sleep. Alejandro didn't ask for any delays.
They were well-rested, but many in Juárez City couldn't sleep at all because of the chaos Jimmy had caused in recent days.
After the entire main force of Victoria's gang was wiped out, and even the boss herself was killed, it naturally triggered speculation among the gangs. But Sinoloa Group's swift takeover of her territory prevented chain conflicts from erupting.
Several gangs within Victoria's sphere were just beginning to have ideas when suddenly stopped, realizing the difference in outcome between fighting small gangs for territory and contesting with a massive drug cartel like Sinoloa Group. Currently, besides the Juárez Cartel, no group could contend with them alone in Juárez City.
That night while Jimmy was working, a few people indeed fled. As soon as they left, they contacted their friends, family, and familiar gang members, spreading the word while securing a fallback. It was also an attempt to gather forces to make a move; if they succeeded, they could become the next big boss.
Soon after Jimmy and his crew left, people arrived at the ranch. It was eerily quiet, devoid of people and gunshots. After probing outside, they approached the house and found bodies strewn around, discovering nobody alive inside after searching the building.
Most of the dead had a single headshot, all apparently from a handgun, reminding the gang members of the gunfight at Victoria's place. They didn't dare linger long, hurriedly searching the house and the bodies before leaving the ranch, satisfied with what they found without expecting much more.
The impact of Carlos Escobar's death was greater than Victoria's because news of his death spread quickly, long before dawn. It was the perfect time for those who received the message to seize his territory and resources. That night, endless gunfire erupted all over Juárez.
