Chapter 1331 - 723: Preparing to Rescue

Chapter 1331 - 723: Preparing to Rescue

Jimmy had just left not long ago but returned again. He did clean up his tracks thoroughly, but he forgot an important clue; the other party's car was still parked there. At the very least, it had to be moved to delay the police investigation direction.

However, he didn't return the same way. Instead, he found a ditch and pushed the motorcycle directly into it to sink to the bottom. With the water's rush, any remaining clothing fibers or skin flakes would definitely disappear completely.

Carrying his backpack, holding that box, Jimmy ran toward the target at a speed beyond ordinary, and by the time he came down from the mountain, the house hadn't triggered any commotion yet.

This was good. When the three people fired earlier, they all used silencers. Firing in the house, the distance to the neighbors was relatively far, and they couldn't hear it, naturally causing no commotion.

Coming to the front of the house from the back, Jimmy confirmed there were no keys in the car. He re-entered the house and found the keys on one of the people, then went to the leader's side and took his phone, leaving everything else untouched.

This person's phone should be his most important thing. Jimmy wanted to disguise the scene; taking only his phone would further give the illusion that a third party targeted this person specifically and clearly.

Starting the car to leave, Jimmy deliberately turned on the headlights, and after driving a distance, he directly turned off the headlights and moved north. He didn't take the same route when he came; if someone accidentally saw the car, it could confuse them. If someone tried to pursue him, Jimmy, with the headlights off, could still shake them off on the road.

While driving, he dismantled the phone's battery, leaving only the SIM card. Entering the northern desert area, Jimmy discarded all necessary items randomly while driving. Unless someone intentionally searched along the route, they would never find everything.

Driving back to the city area near his bicycle, Jimmy stopped the car, wiped the places he had touched, then left with the doors open and the keys in, heading towards his bicycle to make his way to the hotel.

This car was quite nice; surely someone would like it. With the doors open and the keys in, still in the city area, Jimmy was confident it would vanish before dawn.

Jimmy returned to the hotel the same way he came, climbed back into the second-floor bathroom window, patted the dust off himself in the bathroom, and cleaned his shoe soles before quietly returning to his room.

Luckily, the surrounding rooms remained quiet; no one should have noticed him.

Jimmy changed his clothes and shoes, putting everything into the backpack. He had forgotten to prepare a backup outfit for himself in the bag before going out, so he had to wear this outfit back. It's not too big a problem; he's not involved in the investigation, and he can move freely during the day, making it easy to bring it out.

Regarding that box, Jimmy opened it for a glance before closing it again, planning to find a warehouse to store it during the day or simply get a bank safe deposit box. This time, he was officially handling business without the previously prepared fake identity, but it didn't matter; his identity was definitely fine.

Unexpectedly, Ruiz's team was so fast. Before dawn, the phone rang, "Agent Yang, this is Javier Hernandez from the anti-black squad."

Jimmy: "Javier, what's the matter?"

Javier: "I'll arrive in Albuquerque this morning, accompanied by two DEA agents. We will assist you in handling Juarez's case."

Jimmy: "OK, I understand. Do I need to prepare anything?"

Javier: "Not for now. We've contacted the Albuquerque office. We'll meet there. We should arrive by ten."

Jimmy: "Alright, see you later."

After hanging up, Jimmy sat up from the bed. This matter had become a bit troublesome. He hadn't had time to organize his backpack and the box yet, and after considering for a while, he decided to leave early in the morning. Finding a mini storage would take quite a bit of time; better choose the bank safe deposit box directly.

Early in the morning, after taking a shower and tidying up, Jimmy left the hotel with the suitcase. The hotel had helped call a taxi, which quickly arrived at a Wells Fargo branch.

Handling the bank safe deposit box wasn't actually complicated. Jimmy had a legal identity and sufficient asset proofs. After filling out the form, he quickly got the key and password. After putting the suitcase inside, Jimmy left the bank and returned to the FBI office.

The bank safe deposit box Jimmy chose was rented for a year, because he didn't know how long Ruiz's team would take with the case. He worried a short rental period would expire and become troublesome later.

Hope was quite surprised to see Jimmy arrive, but didn't say much, just explained the current progress to him. Since two people were lost last time, Jimmy hadn't asked Hope to bring back any materials anymore; the remaining people handled it normally here. After all, the people he cared about were already gone.

However, the progress of the investigation over the past couple of days still surprised Jimmy. They actually managed to dig up the gang behind the kidnapping of those three runner girls, though they could only ascertain one person's identity for now, and it wasn't from New Mexico, so they temporarily didn't pursue further.
