North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 1314 - 715: Rescue

Chapter 1314 - 715: Rescue

When Hope was active, Jimmy was driving around nearby, just to observe if there was any particularly unusual behavior or state from the people inside each house, and whether there were similar imprisonment-like actions in their basements and storage rooms. When he received Hope's call, his mind was blank. No way, how could a service gun be taken by someone so easily?

Sure, doing the duo exercise requires getting completely undressed, but shouldn't your gun be in a safe place? What's putting it on the bedside table all about? At the very least it should be under the pillow, making it less convenient for someone to take it.

He immediately turned the car around towards the hotel. Luckily, he wasn't far away. When he arrived, he saw Hope already standing by the roadside. Opening the car door, Hope pointed ahead, "Up front, a black SUV."

Jimmy accelerated towards it, "Damn it, what the hell happened?"

Hope said awkwardly, "She came to the bed to grab her bag while getting dressed. My gun was under the clothes, just on top of the nightstand. I guess she noticed it before and waited until the last moment before leaving to act. But finally, she begged me to let her go, saying she needs the gun. Her expression looked painful. I'm worried something big might happen."

Jimmy: "Was she controlled by someone, too? Trying to resist? Seeking revenge?"

Hope: "It's possible, and their car was just parked outside. As soon as she got in, it drove away. They probably went back to their old hideout, avoiding contact with others."

Jimmy: "Alright, if the worst-case scenario does happen, you better think about how to write a report explaining why your gun was at the scene."

Jimmy turned off the headlights and drove forward in the dark. The black SUV was really hard to spot in the night, but luckily they were only less than two minutes ahead. Although Jimmy had to observe every passing car and couldn't drive that fast, at least he wouldn't miss obvious targets with multiple people inside.

Their speed was not slow, but after driving forward for a few minutes without seeing an SUV that matched the description, they knew something was wrong. If the other party knew someone was chasing them and drove fast, that was fine, but if they made a turn somewhere, then they took the wrong route, it would be a trouble.

Jimmy told Hope about this possibility. After pursuing for a little while longer, they immediately turned around, taking a turn at an intersection they passed earlier, heading in. It felt like returning to when Jimmy was just a county cop, chasing cars in the suburbs. There were also various small roads there, and many cars being chased would circle through various small roads and towns to shake off the police cars behind them.

Hope was truly bewildered. As a passenger in the car, without lights on inside and outside, everything farther away just looked like a mass of blackness. He had no clue how Jimmy managed to chase the car without headlights on.

The highway ahead was alright, with signs on the roadside, lines marking the road center, although there weren't many cars, there was some lighting. Now entering the small road, there was nothing at all, relying solely on a bit of moonlight, which wasn't very bright. He kept holding the handle, worried that Jimmy might drive the car into a ditch.

But fortunately, although there were occasional bumps, Jimmy drove very steadily. After taking several forks without any result, they had to return and adjust the route again. Jimmy was also feeling helpless. They couldn't just ignore this mess. After all, it was Hope's service Glock. Losing it would really be troublesome.

This partner had been quite pleasant to work with recently, at least saving Jimmy a lot of trouble. Now that he was in trouble, Jimmy would definitely help him resolve it.

Again, they managed to find a small road, driving to the end where they found a large area fenced with wooden fences. After circling about half a lap, they discovered it was an abandoned car scrapyard, a place for recycling and dismantling discarded vehicles.

Jimmy parked the car and looked around, "Hope, take a look inside with the binoculars. Just stand on the car roof."

Hope reached back for the gear bag, pulling out a monocular. Though not large, the effect was decent.

There were lights in the house inside, but it was quite far. Jimmy's Heart Eye vision couldn't see inside. This kind of place was also very suitable for hiding, a favorite spot for underground organizations like gangs, especially since such areas were generally in sparsely populated zones, making it less likely for many people to notice anything unusual inside.

Hope had just climbed onto the car roof and hadn't got a chance to stand up when two gunshots were heard from inside. Followed by a burst of intensive gunfire, this was a big problem.

Hope immediately got off the car, Jimmy started the vehicle to turn it around. Once Hope got in, he switched on the headlights and police lights and sirens, rushing towards the gate, crashing right through it and charging inside.

"Stay in the car, if anyone tries to run, intercept them."

Jimmy charged in while unbuckling the seatbelt, and before the car stopped completely, he opened the door, jumping out, raising the Glock and rushing into the building ahead.

The central area of the scrapyard comprised several buildings clustered together, with a workshop in the middle and an auto parts store, and on the side, seemed to be a warehouse and residential area. The earlier gunfire came from the residential area on the side, which was also where the most silhouettes were present.

As Jimmy ran forward, he shouted, "FBI, nobody move."

The sound of the siren had long alerted those inside, as Jimmy dashed from the car, people inside had begun gathering at windows and doors, which allowed Jimmy to clearly distinguish everyone.
