None of These Witches are Ever Serious

Chapter 39

Chapter 39

This time, the bandit gang that the Felyn Race had come to deal with was supposedly the weakest bunch around.

Their leader was probably only Third-Rank at best, the kind that could be taken down with sheer numbers.

If it had been a Fourth-Rank, this pack of plump Felyns would've had just one fate if they all charged in—going in but never coming back.

At this point, Luo En had to admit that Daddy Susuya was pretty clever after all, knowing to target the weakest ones first.

If the Felyns really managed to wipe out this bandit gang, it might piss off the other gangs, but it'd also make them think twice about the Felyns' fighting prowess.

After all, who could've imagined that a bunch of little runts like these could actually fight back against big-shot bandits like them?

Once you know a crab can pinch, you'll think twice before grabbing one next time.

"Shh, our plan this time is total stealth," Luo En whispered from behind a rock, cautioning the cluster of Felyns around him.

Since Daddy Susuya figured Luoluo An's head wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, he'd put Luo En in charge of leading the rest of the Felyns.

Moruna was crouched quietly at Luo En's side, like some kind of good-luck charm.

Her outfit was starting to look more and more like the witch he'd pictured—white robes, that signature wide-brimmed pointed hat, and tall boots that hit every one of his sweet spots.

It'd be even better if she showed a bit more expression on her face.

Right now, Moruna only cracked a smug little look when she was angling for praise.

As for the dragon maid, Luo En had strongly insisted she stay back in Windbird Town.

Last time, getting chased by all those guards boiled down to Lilian's fault.

When this maid faced opponents weaker than her, low-key wasn't even in her vocabulary.

If she'd actually stepped in to help Luo En, that'd be one thing—but no, she just stood there with her arms crossed, watching.

Luo En desperately needed that one gold coin to motivate Lilian. If he didn't pay up soon, the dragon maid would keep slacking off indefinitely.

Of course, he wasn't even sure if paying her would get her to actually help him.

There was also the matter of Luo En not knowing just how valuable a single gold coin was in the Bicolor Realm.

"Alright, let's confirm pre-battle prep," Luo En said in a hushed tone. "Moruna, you can summon a water cannon, right?"

Moruna nodded lightly, then demonstrated right there by squirting out a water gun blast for Luo En.

Once she'd finished, her eyebrows perked up smugly, as if asking if that wasn't pretty impressive.

Luo En silently gave Moruna a thumbs-up in approval.

"You all remember the plan?" Luo En asked, turning to the Felyns gathered around him.

"We remember!" the Felyns chorused.

"Good. First, Luoluo An, you and your group take out the bandits at the gate."

"At that point, the main bandit force will hear the commotion and come rushing out. That's when you hit them with the water cannon, Moruna."

"Then we sneak in with some of the others and clean up everyone inside the cave except the bandit leader."

"Once it's just the leader left all alone, he's ours to squash."

Luo En thought this plan was solid—because honestly, asking him to come up with anything better was out of the question.

His smarts only went so far. You could gripe about it all you wanted, but that wouldn't magically make him smarter.

If you insisted he had no brains at all, he'd have to own up to it!

"Alright, that's our cue," Luo En said, spotting a few bandits wandering by. "Luoluo An, go!"

The words were barely out of his mouth when Luoluo An and a handful of Felyns leaped onto the rocks, letting out wild "Ooh-la!" yells like savages.

"Let's give 'em a taste of our fury!" Luoluo An shouted, charging forward with his spear raised.

Sure, the average Felyn's fighting strength was pretty low, but as long as there were enough of them, it wasn't an issue.

With eight Felyns here, one good kick from each could finish off these three lost bandits.

Plus, Luoluo An wasn't weak—he had genuine First-Rank power and was the undisputed top warrior.

Well, top among the Felyns of Windbird Town, anyway.

"Felyn Race? Have these pests lost their minds?" The bandits' first reaction to the charging Felyns was total bewilderment.

Felyns were usually just bullying targets, after all.

Even if rumors said they had a strong sense of resistance, not many had actually seen it in action.

Heck, even if you heard cotton candy sticks to your hands, you wouldn't think twice about it.

"You, hurry back and tell the boss—these Felyns have gone nuts!"

One bandit quickly turned tail to report back, while the other two rolled up their sleeves, ready to thrash these insolent little maniacs.

"Remember my name—I'm Luoluo An!" But he hadn't counted on Luoluo An's spear slicing right through his knife and skewering him clean through.

Without a certain level of physical toughness, fights could end abruptly—like this one.

"Charge! Let's grab a... a carrot first!" Luoluo An had meant to say something cool, but his mind blanked, so he blurted out the first thing that came to him.

As long as everyone got the idea, the details didn't matter.

......

......

"Boss! Boss!"

"What is it? Did you find that guy's book?"

The bandit leader thought they'd located the book worth a few gold coins and lit up with excitement.

"No, it's not about the book! It's the Felyn Race!"

"The Felyn Race? What about 'em? They come out of the cave?"

He clicked his tongue, interest vanishing in an instant.

To him, Felyn troubles couldn't hold a candle to those gold coins.

"Yes! The Felyn have come out of their cave! And they've gone berserk—they're attacking us out here!"

"What?" The Bandit Leader shot to his feet. "Who the hell gave them the nerve?"

"No idea, but we should wrap this up quick. Looks like there are only a few of them."

His subordinate tried to sound reassuring, but the Bandit Leader's instincts told him this was no simple matter.

The Felyn had always hidden away in their burrows to avoid the bandits—no way they'd suddenly turn aggressive like this.

It was like a pack of rabbits picking a fight with a pride of lions. Utterly absurd.

What on earth had given these emergency food supplies the guts of a bear and the ferocity of a leopard?

"Take me to see what's going on," he said, standing up to get to the bottom of it.

But as soon as they reached the cave mouth, a Water Cannon slammed into him the next instant, sending him sprawling backward.

He wiped the water from his face, confusion etched across his features. "Water?"

By the time he pushed himself up, trying to get a clear look at whatever had knocked him down, another blast of Water Cannon came roaring in.

"What the fuck is this shit?!" the Bandit Leader roared in fury.
