Chapter 686: Bedrooms
Chapter 686: Bedrooms
The first floor was fully explored by all of them, so once they were done, they ascended to the second floor.
The layout of the second floor is kind of similar to the first floor, but the difference is that the upper floor only consists of bedrooms that have five bedrooms.
Cleora scratched her cheek, shooting an apologetic glance at Coco. "I’m sorry.. I had this floor plan made because I only have you, your sisters, and myself in mind."
Coco simply smiled. "It’s fine, mama."
"But.." Cleora muttered and her gaze fell to the marbled floor.
"You didn’t actually have to give me and my husbands a house, mama, but you went high and beyond." Coco hummed, her smile becoming soft. "Thank you. Please don’t feel bad about this."
"Are.. Are you sure?" Cleora mumbled, perking up.
"Yes." Coco giggled and grasped her mother’s hand. "We checked the rooms downstairs and two of them only had one way to get in and out. I can just make one of those two as my bedroom, you know?"
"Still, I should have thought about it and assumed that you will be married." Cleora stated, eyebrows furrowing as she frowned.
"It’s fine! Really!" Coco huffed out, shaking her mother’s hands.
Unbeknownst to the two of them, the four mediators and the hybrid were already talking about their own rooms as they walked around the second floor, checking out the said rooms.
"This one." Heiren stated, hands planted in his hips. "I want this one."
"I checked the room across yours and the view from the window is breathtaking." Quizen quipped and shot his friends a grin. "I want that one, okay? Finders keepers."
"You two are going to choose these rooms without even checking the other ones?" Zaque asked, eyebrows twitching.
"Yes." Heiren hummed, his eyes sweeping across his chosen room with delight as he walked around. "I want this one. I can already see where I want my cabinets are— oh and look! There’s a bathroom attached to this one."
As he said those words, he stopped in front of a closed door and opened it.
"I’m going to check mine out to see if it has one!" Quizen called over his shoulder and ran across the space to get to his chosen room, rounding the corner of the staircase railing to not get hurt.
"Don’t run!" Zaque hissed before he shook his head, sighing. "I guess I can’t stop you two from choosing what you want."
"I agree." Alhai hummed and opened the door right next to Heiren’s door. "Just to let you know, I want this one to be mine. From the looks of it, I can fit a couple bookshelves here."
Zaque blinked. "Already?"
As if on cue, Kairo came out of the room through the door right across Alhai’s chosen room, a pleased smile on his face.
"This one is perfect for me." The hybrid stated, gesturing towards the empty room. "It has a small space on the wall that I can put a desk and cabinets in. It’s perfect."
The first husband brought a hand to his temples and sighed. "I guess I’ll get whatever room is left."
Kairo frowned and closed the door. "You haven’t chosen yours? If you want, I can trade room with you if don’t like yours—"
"No, no, no." Zaque quickly said and waved his hands, cutting off Kairo from completing his sentence. "You’re one of us now. If you want that, then it’s yours."
Kairo blinked and turned to the other mediators, only to see them shrugging their shoulders.
"Hey, if he said it’s yours, then it’s yours." Heiren hummed, the corner of his lips quirking up into a smirk. "Just take it, my friend."
"Agree." The third husband voiced out, nodding his head. "It’s better to accept the blessing."
Kairo nodded his head slowly, unsure if he should take Alhai’s and Heiren’s words for it. He felt bad for Zaque to settle for the last room because he has no other choice, but if they insist..
"Okay, I understand." Kairo smiled, making the others smile as well.
"That’s the spirit." Alhai chuckled and nudged his elbow against Kairo, pleased to see that the soon-to-be husband is finally feeling comfortable around them.
"Then, how about Coco’s room?" Kairo asked, his handsome face twisting into another frown. "We took over the rooms up here.."
"I heard Coco telling her mother that she will take one room downstairs." Quizen quipped and inserted himself into the conversation. "We let her put her things downstairs, but have to sleep with one of us each night."
"Sounds like a good plan." Heiren hummed, grinning from ear to ear.
"Indeed." Zaque agreed, chuckling. "I was going to say that one of us should take turns sleeping with her in her room, but I like Quizen’s plan better."
"Right? I’m a genius!" The fourth husband exclaimed, puffing his chest out to emphasize how proud he is of himself. "Oh, by the way, my room does have a bathroom and my room is still big with the bathroom inside!"
"I’m guessing that the bedrooms have bathrooms then." Alhai stated, placing a hand on his chin as he pondered about it.
"You’re correct." Cleora confirmed his suspicion, causing the husbands and soon-to-be husband to jump on their spots, whirling their heads to look at the older woman.
"I wanted to make sure that my daughters will be comfortable staying here." Cleora explained, a soft smile emerging on her face. "But since Coco is now married, I’ll have this house get registered under her name."
"You don’t have to, mama." Coco interjected, eyebrows furrowing.
"Nonsense!" Cleora huffed and placed her hands on her hips as she turned to her daughter. "I’ll have your sisters’ houses built down the street anyway! So, what seems to be the problem?"
Coco went still and she started fidgeting.
"It’s just that.. I didn’t work hard for this.." Coco frowned, looking down on the floor.
