New World with Four Husbands

Chapter 373: Battle

Chapter 373: Battle

"At your back, Coco!" Lukas screamed across the area, his voice booming and alerting the monsters around them.

The tough crocodiles, flying pigs, poison tiger, and a goleter— a monster that was much smaller than the one she encountered inside the arena, turned their attention to the so-called sacred beast.

"Squee?"

"Gr.."

"Sss.."

"Du?"

Different sounds rang out in the air, the monsters’ eyes zeroing on the blonde haired man.

Everyone took notice of the monsters’ unusual focus on one person, making them instinctively surround Lukas, their grip on their weapons tightening.

"Their eyes are on Lukas!" Coco stated the obvious, slightly relieved that she didn’t have to lie to get them to protect Lukas. "Do everything to help him and not let them take him away, okay?"

"Got it, leader!"

"Understood."

"Hear, hear!"

Came a couple answers from the aspiring hunters behind her, making a relieved sigh escape her lips.

"Focus on taking them down." Greinzer spoke up and moved closer to Lukas. "I know that I shouldn’t be helping, but this is not part of the third stage anymore.. So I’ll watch everyone’s back."

"Thanks, teach’!" Lukas expressed his gratitude almost immediately, but was thrown off when the flying pigs started squealing.

Konoha, who has been quiet and behaved the whole time, started hissing— the fur on her tail going up and sticking in all directions as she hissed at the monsters, seemingly offended by the pig’s noise.

In a sudden burst of movement, the flying pig began shooting out sharp feathers with unnerving accuracy.

The feathers sliced through the air, their razor-sharp edges glinting in the sunlight, causing the group to quickly scatter, dodging the assault with quick reflexes, their eyes never leaving the flying menace.

Coco took charge of the situation, her voice rising to be heard by the noises around them.

"I’ll take care of the flying pigs! You guys focus on the poison tigers and crocodiles!" She yelled, her gaze darting between the flying monsters, her message clear, making the group acknowledge her words with nods.

Then, Coco took off towards the tree line, executing a well-known tactic to her advantage.

She quickly ascended the branches, her fast movements allowing her to scale the tree with ease— the flying pigs, preoccupied with Lukas, barely noticed her, their attention still fixated on the sacred beast.

Coco, her grip on her trusty hoe firm and tightening, pushed herself off from the tree branch with a calculated jump, aiming directly for the nearest flying pig.

Her body whisked through the air, her gaze locked onto the flying pig as it obliviously fluttered, its attention still focused on the ongoing battle below, her weapon raised for a powerful strike.

SQUEEEEE!

Coco’s hit landed on the flying pig, causing it to tumble roughly on the ground.

Coco immediately found herself falling towards the ground, a move that positioned her just above an unsuspecting poison tiger.

With a twist of her body, she brought her trusty hoe down, slamming it fiercely onto the poison tiger’s back, a well-executed blow that left the unexpected monster stunned and immobilized.

The impact of the hit echoed through the area, the strength was enough to send the poison tiger down to the ground.

Lukas couldn’t help but let out a whistle, his admiration evident as he witnessed Coco’s impressive display of quick thinking and agile combat skills.

However, just as he was about to comment, his attention was wrenched away by the sudden appearance of Myra who pushed him aside with urgency— the reason behind her action quickly became clear as a tough crocodile ran towards them, its powerful form closing the gap with alarming speed.

The tough-looking crocodile, its predatory charge, was halted in its tracks as Greinzer’s well aimed shot found its mark, connecting with the creature and stopping its advancement.

The impact sent the crocodile stumbling backwards slightly, its powerful form momentarily stunned.

Coco quickly darted towards the dazed crocodile, her movements fast and quick as she seized hold of its tail with a firm grip, her muscles rippling with effort.

She lifted the heavy monster off the ground and with a powerful throw, she hurled the crocodile towards the flying pigs, the monster’s form sailing through the air and colliding with the flying monsters.

The flying pigs were caught off guard, their formation disrupted by the unexpected attack.

The flying pigs were so engrossed in their attack on Lukas that they were taken completely by surprise when their own ally, the tough crocodile, was suddenly tossed towards them by Coco’s unexpected move.

The flying pigs failed to react in time as the crocodile slammed into them, sending both species tumbling to the ground, throwing them into disarray.

Coco’s authoritative voice immediately cut through the chaos she just created, her words firm and commanding.

"Move! We need to get rid of these monsters before new ones can spawn in!" Coco unintentionally hissed, her chest heaving up and down from the adrenaline rush.

The group jumped into action, quickly regaining their composure, refocusing their attention on the task at hand.

With the flying pigs and crocodile temporarily out of the question since Coco will take care of them, the group shifted their focus to destroying the remaining monsters.

After yelling a command, Coco closed the distance between her and the grounded flying pigs as they began to flap their wings, desperate to escape from her, already sensing that they’re facing a much stronger individual.

As soon as she closed the distance, Coco didn’t hesitate to strike the pigs’ heads with her trusty hoe.

The flying pigs emitted pained squeals, their efforts to fly thwarted by the powerful strike before they swayed, their wings slowing down from flapping— until all of them fully stopped moving and fell limp on the ground.

Without wasting time, Coco turned in her heels and grabbed a random flying pig by the snout.

"Myra, duck!"

Myra didn’t think twice about doing what she was told, just in time for a pig whisking past above her head.
