Never Just Friends

A New Strategy

A New Strategy

Hanna, Emily, and Finn sat around the living room, the weight of their situation heavy in the air. The tension was palpable, their minds racing with what to do next. They had already taken on Ciara, but now it was Mark, someone more dangerous, pulling the strings from behind the scenes. This new battle felt like a war on multiple fronts, and Hanna knew they needed to move quickly.

Emily was the first to break the silence. “If Mark is behind this, we need proof,” she said, her voice sharp with determination. “We can’t just rely on what Elordi says. We need something concrete, something that connects him to all this.”

“But how do we get it?” Finn asked, his eyes filled with concern. “If he’s as dangerous as Elordi says, he won’t be easy to expose.”

Hanna stared at her phone, the message from Elordi still lingering in her mind. He had promised her the resources, but she knew it wouldn’t be enough. If they were going to take down Mark, they needed more than just a few pieces of evidence. They needed leverage, and that meant making connections they’d never thought possible.

“I think I know someone who can help,” Hanna said, her voice steady as she broke the silence. Both Emily and Finn turned to look at her, confusion in their eyes.

“Who?” Finn asked, his brow furrowing in suspicion.

Hanna took a deep breath. “I don’t know how much he knows, but there’s someone who used to work with Mark. He’s not close with him anymore, but he might be willing to talk. If he’s been burned by Mark, we might be able to turn him against him.”

Emily’s eyes widened. “You’re talking about someone who’s still involved in this mess? Someone who could be dangerous too?”

Hanna nodded. “Yes. But if we play it right, we could get him to give us the information we need. He won’t just hand it over, but if we can offer him something he wants, we might be able to make it work.”

Finn was still unsure, his concern for Hanna’s safety evident in his eyes. “Are you sure this is a good idea? If Mark finds out we’re going after him like this—”

“I know,” Hanna interrupted softly. “But we don’t have any other choice. We can’t let him keep manipulating everything from the shadows. We need to get ahead of him, before he takes us down completely.”

There was a long pause as everyone processed the gravity of the situation. Finally, Emily spoke, her tone resolute. “So, what’s the plan?”

Hanna’s mind raced, the pieces of the puzzle coming together in her head. “I’m going to reach out to him. I’ll offer him something he wants, something Mark can’t give him anymore. We meet in private, we get what we need, and we take down Mark for good.”

Finn looked at Hanna, his concern still clear but softened by the trust he had in her. “Just be careful. I don’t want you getting tangled up in something worse.”

Hanna smiled at him, a small, sad smile. “I know. But I won’t stop until we end this. I’m not running anymore, Finn. We’re going to take control back.”

The room fell into a tense silence as they all contemplated the next steps. The road ahead was uncertain, and Hanna knew that playing this game meant putting everything at risk—her safety, her trust with Finn, and even the fragile peace they had fought so hard for. But if there was one thing Hanna had learned, it was that she couldn’t back down. Not now.

Mark had made his move, and now it was time for hers.
