Chapter 262 - 254: The Master Probably Wasn’t Fully Awake Back Then
Aiden Morgan’s heart tightened. He glanced at the old fox before him and replied with a placid expression, "Your Majesty the King, these researchers need to be escorted to the International Penitentiary to await trial."
Upon hearing this, Carter’s face finally fell. His tone grew serious as he asked, "What about my people?"
"Your Majesty the King, I understand how you feel. I have already reported this matter to the Mercenaries’ League. They will coordinate with international medical organizations to allocate resources and aid those people. I believe it won’t be long before the medical teams arrive."
"Commander Alpha, these people committed their crimes in Masovia, so they all fall under Masovia’s jurisdiction. I am very grateful for your efforts, but you must hand them over to us."
In his desperation to claim the prisoners, Carter could no longer be bothered with saving face.
Just then, Alvin Morgan suddenly projected a red map. "According to the 2034 Western Continent Convention," he said, his voice cold, "that piece of land is not within Masovia’s borders. It is a public territory shared by three nations and is not under Masovian jurisdiction."
Carter was left speechless, his face livid. He couldn’t utter a word for a long moment.
Seeing how his master had thoroughly dismantled every excuse, Aiden Morgan leisurely picked up his milk tea.
Carter glared at him, his face livid. ’I’ve underestimated the Black Wolves,’ he thought, his eyes flicking to the middle-aged man beside him.
A formidable wave of Power surged from the middle-aged man.
Aurora Sinclair reacted instantly, deflecting the wave of Power in mid-air.
With a loud CRASH, a nearby gold-rimmed glass lampshade shattered.
The middle-aged man looked up in surprise, his eyes fixed on Aurora Sinclair.
The loud crash filled the room with a tense and delicate atmosphere.
A cautious look surfaced in the middle-aged man’s eyes.
The same was true for Aurora Sinclair. As a show of force, she had already shattered his domain of Power and enveloped all the members of the Black Wolves within her own.
Aiden Morgan, naturally sensing the clash between the two, said nonchalantly, "Your Majesty the King, if there is nothing else, we will take our leave."
Carter glanced at the middle-aged man again. Seeing him shake his head slightly, the king offered a few token words of protest before letting them depart.
After the members of the Black Wolves had left, Carter asked angrily, "Why did you let them go?"
The middle-aged man replied with a grave expression, "The person in the cloak... their strength is equal to mine."
"Could she also be a..."
Carter didn’t dare say the word, because the middle-aged man had already stood up and was walking out.
"Saint, where are you going?"
The man didn’t answer, his figure vanishing in an instant.
Carter’s expression darkened.
The middle-aged man shot out of the Royal Palace with extreme speed, blocking the Black Wolves’ vehicle.
Aurora Sinclair quickly got out of the car and stood with her hands clasped behind her back.
Standing seven or eight meters apart, they had the air of two masters poised for a climactic showdown.
"What are you doing here?" the middle-aged man asked in a low voice.
He spoke in the common tongue, which Aurora Sinclair understood. After a moment of thought, she replied with a single word: "Fun."
From inside the car, Beta Morgan thought he could see cracks forming on the man’s face.
Aurora Sinclair asked, "Is there anything else?"
The man looked at her for another moment, then stepped aside.
’A High Rank Martial Cultivator this young could only be from one of the great nations’ Ancient Martial Families or a Secluded Sect.’
’She’s not someone I can afford to offend.’

「Aboard the Black Wolves’ vehicle.」
Aiden Morgan unfolded the note Princess Martha had secretly slipped him.
It contained only a single line of text:
"Meet me tonight at the West Gate of the Royal Palace. I know where the person you’re looking for is. —Martha"
"Whoa, Alpha, you’re quite the ladies’ man! Getting secret notes from a princess and everything." After peeking at the contents, Beta Morgan snatched the note with a teasing grin and read it aloud.
Aiden Morgan shot him a look and snatched the note back, intending to rip it up, but Aurora Sinclair was faster and grabbed it from his hand.
"Nice one, Aurora! Quick, let the master see. Maybe the Morgan Family is about to get a foreign daughter-in-law," Beta Morgan hollered, loving every second of the chaos.
But Aurora Sinclair was examining the note closely. She brought it to her nose and sniffed it, then said to Alvin Morgan with a serious expression, "I think this paper is from the Black Crocodile King’s room."
"No way," Beta Morgan asked in disbelief, the smile vanishing from his face.
"I’m fairly certain. I remember seeing this kind of paper on his desk."
Alvin Morgan took the note and examined it carefully before concluding, "Donovan Lockwood is in the hands of the Royal Family."p>***
The moon climbed above the treetops. The sky was vast and starless, and a frost-white light bathed the land, draping it in a hazy, white veil that was utterly bewitching.
A beautiful woman stood at the West Gate of the Royal Palace, dressed in a sheer, gauzy gown that alluringly showcased her enchanting figure.
Hiding nearby, Beta Morgan couldn’t help but grumble under his breath, "Even a rough guy like Alpha gets lucky with the ladies. Why the hell don’t I?"
Silas Morgan shot him a look and whispered, "Who can you blame for being ugly?"
"Who’re you calling ugly? The master himself picked me out back in the day, okay?"
"The master probably wasn’t fully awake back then."
"Get outta here... Aurora, is Mr. Beta ugly?" Beta Morgan turned pitifully to the "personal ray of sunshine" beside him.
Aurora Sinclair looked at him and shook her head. "Not ugly..."
"Waaaah... Aurora’s the best..."
"Just plain."
"..."
Silas Morgan couldn’t help but snort with laughter.
Aurora Sinclair continued, "Mr. Beta is a good person."
Beta Morgan was moved once again. "See? Aurora understands me best."
Silas Morgan rolled his eyes and replied coolly, "That sentence is usually followed by, ’...but we’re not right for each other.’"
"..."
Aiden Morgan glared at the others for goofing off during a mission. "It’s time to move," he said in a low voice.
Everyone’s expression turned serious. Aurora Sinclair pulled on her black hood and shot off in a certain direction with extreme speed.
She vanished from sight like the wind.
Soon after, two figures inside the Royal Palace darted off in another direction.
Aiden Morgan put on a black mask and walked slowly toward the princess.
Aurora Sinclair didn’t slow down until she had led the Guardian ten kilometers away from the Royal Palace.
The middle-aged man watched her with a stern face and asked seriously, "Are you trying to start a war?"
Aurora Sinclair shook her head.
"What is your purpose in coming here so late at night?"
Aurora Sinclair pointed in a certain direction. "I’m taking you somewhere."
The middle-aged man glanced in the direction she was pointing, a flicker of anger in his eyes. "You lured me all the way out here just to go to the slums?"
Aurora Sinclair nodded.
"There’s nothing to see there."
"You’re a Guardian. Why don’t you care about them?"
The middle-aged man paused, as if he’d heard something astonishing. He looked her up and down, then suddenly asked, "Are you from Veridia?"
Aurora Sinclair stiffened slightly. She didn’t answer, but from her reaction, the man knew he had guessed correctly.
"In this world, only Veridia’s Guardian would do something so foolish."
"What do you mean?" Aurora Sinclair’s voice grew colder.
"The rule of the Martial World is that the strong are king. Every Martial Artist is scrambling to improve their own strength. Even after becoming a Guardian, one must spend years in secluded Martial Cultivation to avoid being surpassed or assassinated by others. So who has time to care if other people live or die? But I’ve heard that your Veridian Guardian is very different, fond of wandering around and meddling in things that are none of their business..."
The man’s eyes filled with mockery, clearly disdainful of the idea.
"Since ancient times, it has always been the law of the jungle: the strong live, and the weak perish. If they don’t fight for themselves, should they just wait for charity from the strong? Back in the day, Veridia’s Guardian was the strongest on the Five Continents, but the current one doesn’t even rank. The only reason no one dares to make a move on you all is because of your advanced AI weaponry..."
The Power around Aurora Sinclair surged instantly. Clenching her fists, she looked him straight in the eye and said, word by word, "Want to try me?"
The man’s eyes slowly narrowed, a hint of caution surfacing within them.
’This person’s Power... it’s so strong!’
