My Mother is the Villain

Chapter 4: Big Increase

Chapter 4: Big Increase

The Russell Clan did not grow quiet just because night had fallen.

Many young members still lingered outside, listening to the elders’ teachings.

Victor’s appearance once again drew attention, but he didn’t stop. He headed straight toward the clan gate.

Russell City was vast—comparable to a metropolitan city on Earth.

Victor hadn’t expected a cultivation world to be so densely populated. Perhaps it was because people here lived much longer lives.

There was no electricity, yet the city remained brightly lit by glowing crystals.

People moved about endlessly—some dressed openly, while others wore cloaks that concealed their entire bodies.

"Young Master, where would you like to go?" Emma asked.

"Let’s just look around first..." Victor replied.

Hearing that, Emma summoned two clan guards and ordered them to prepare the finest carriage.

The two guards were outsiders, and they knew exactly who deserved the utmost respect.

They moved swiftly. The carriage they brought was made of gold, pulled by a radiant white winged horse.

They even opened the door for Victor, who climbed in with a few steps due to its height.

The carriage was fairly open once the curtains were drawn aside. Victor leaned back in his seat at the rear, while Emma sat facing him from the front.

As the carriage moved, no one dared to block its path.

Anyone from the Russell Clan was respected throughout the entire city.

Victor remained silent, observing everything, leaving Emma unable to read his thoughts.

After only a short time, Victor realized something unsettling—humans in this world were even worse than those on Earth.

He saw no fewer than five men forcefully dragging women into an inn.

There were also many bars offering heated services.

"Emma, what place is that?" Victor asked, intrigued as he noticed a wide open field filled with vendors.

They were displaying old, worn-out items that looked like they had been picked up from trash heaps.

"Young Master, that’s just a place for scams. People gather random items from ancient ruins and sell them while claiming there are hidden treasures inside. While hidden treasures do exist, they’re extremely rare. Only fools keep coming here, hoping for luck," Emma explained.

"Do you think there are really hidden treasures among them?" Victor asked again.

"It’s hard to say. If a hidden treasure appears ordinary, it would require careful inspection to detect its power. But no one wants to examine piles of junk one by one," Emma shook her head.

"So it’s impossible to find one quickly?"

"Mm... actually, it’s possible. If we destroy them with overwhelming force—anything that doesn’t break would be the hidden treasure."

"Are you strong enough to destroy all of them?"

Emma, "..."

"Young Master, what are you thinking?" she asked, confused.

She didn’t dare assume that this young master had such an unusual idea.

Of course, she was more than capable of destroying everything there with a single strike.

But to do that, they would first need to buy all those items.

They might look like trash, but the vendors sold them at high prices.

Selling just one or two pieces was enough for them to make a fortune.

"I don’t want to see a place like this exist in this city. Take all that junk—we’ll destroy it after we return," Victor said.

"But..." Emma wanted to point out that they had permits and paid taxes, but she saw the determination in Victor’s eyes.

"I want you to do it," Victor added.

Emma became uneasy.

Even though she served Margaret, she wasn’t someone who habitually oppressed others. But this young master clearly inherited his mother’s nature. He simply lacked the strength to act on it himself and was now asking her to do it for him.

"Emma!" Victor called when she remained silent.

"Young Master, are you sure you want me to do this?" she asked.

"Yes. There’s no need to be polite to scammers."

"...Understood." Emma reluctantly agreed.

"Please wait here, Young Master." She stepped down from the carriage.

"Just say it’s my order if they protest," Victor added.

His expression didn’t change in the slightest.

Emma suddenly realized—Victor had never been innocent. He was simply cold on the inside and preferred to hide his emotions.

Perhaps he didn’t truly care about the scams at all. Maybe he just wanted to seize the hidden treasures for himself.

Click!

Emma only needed a single snap of her fingers to throw the entire marketplace into chaos.

Her aura spread outward, and all the items rose into the air.

Some vendors tried to grab them, only to find their bodies being dragged along as well.

As a Great Sovereign, Emma could easily suppress anyone there—none were even close to her level, let alone stronger.

"What is this?!" the vendors shouted as their goods were sucked into Emma’s storage ring.

In just a few breaths, nothing remained.

No one expected that in the middle of a bustling city, someone would rob so many people at once.

Even more shocking—the one who did it was merely a young maid.

Whose maid could possess such terrifying power?

The vendors stared at the carriage behind Emma and saw a 13-year-old boy sitting calmly inside.

They didn’t recognize him, but they knew—it was a Russell Clan carriage.

"What are you doing?!" one vendor demanded.

"There will be no more scams here," Emma replied.

"What? Who are you calling scammers?!"

"That’s right! We’re just trading—people know the risks!"

"We have permits and pay taxes! Why are we being banned now?!"

The vendors protested loudly.

"This is my Young Master’s decision," Emma said.

"Who is that boy? How dare he act so tyrannically?!"

"Watch your words!" Emma snapped, anger flashing across her face.

Her aura pressed down on them—all of them far too weak to resist.

They could barely breathe.

"If you don’t have the strength to oppose the Russell Clan, then stay silent!" she added coldly.

Her pressure intensified, and no one dared to speak again.

The surrounding crowd didn’t dare interfere either.

Emma might only be a maid, but a maid this powerful clearly held a high position within the Russell Clan.

Without another word, she returned to the carriage and ordered the two guards acting as coachmen to move immediately.

Though they were shocked by what had just happened, they didn’t dare question her.

The difference in their status and strength was like heaven and earth.

DING!

(You have committed an evil act—robbing small merchants. Your Spiritual Energy has increased from 30 to 500!)

[Spiritual Energy: 500/1000]

[Spiritual Energy Accumulation: 500]

The System’s notification shocked Victor.

What increased was his Spiritual Energy—but he hadn’t expected it to be this much.

If it could be this easy... why would he even need to cultivate?
