My Mother is the Villain

Chapter 3: Power

Chapter 3: Power

Warren and Dianna froze—just as Victor had expected.

The former even flushed red.

The Tyrannical War Body Merit Law was incredibly valuable. If successfully cultivated, it could drastically boost one’s strength.

Ryan might not yet have the required talent for it, but the entire clan had been working to gather resources so he could eventually cultivate it.

Moreover, it had been obtained by Ryan himself—it could be said to be his destined opportunity.

And now, Margaret wanted to take it for her son.

Warren stared toward Margaret’s castle through the window, biting his tongue to suppress his anger.

His older sister was utterly tyrannical—and worst of all, she was backed by overwhelming strength.

She could easily defeat their father, and the Ancient Ancestors buried beneath the clan always supported her, as she had provided them with countless resources to prolong their lives.

Even those Ancestors—among the strongest on the Ancient Blood Continent—might not necessarily be able to defeat her.

For a long moment, Warren’s expression remained dark before he finally turned to his wife.

"Call Ryan here," he said in a heavy voice.

Dianna took a deep breath before walking toward the door.

She wasn’t in a position to protest.

Her clan was merely a subordinate of the Russell Clan. There was no way for her to defend her son—unless she chose death.

Ryan quickly arrived, confusion evident on his face as he wondered why he had been summoned.

His mother had clearly told him nothing.

When he saw Victor sitting calmly on the sofa, he frowned.

"Father, what is it?" Ryan asked.

"The Tyrannical War Body Merit Law..." Warren began, but he couldn’t finish his sentence.

It was difficult for him to say it out loud.

He looked awkward.

Ryan only grew more confused.

"Give it to Victor..." Warren finally forced the words out.

"What do you mean, Father?" Ryan’s expression instantly turned furious.

Warren’s face reddened, but perhaps because he couldn’t vent his anger properly, he could only shout,

"You can’t use it anyway! Victor, who has the Diamond Skeleton, is more suitable to cultivate it. This is the clan’s decision—you’d better obey!"

He wasn’t wrong.

If Margaret made a decision, the clan had no choice but to comply.

"What?" Ryan couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

"Just hand it over!" Warren stepped forward forcefully, grabbing the ring on Ryan’s finger.

It was a ring he had given him—and with his power, he forcibly broke its seal.

A golden book appeared in his hand, its cover depicting a giant man wielding an axe amid a pile of corpses.

"Take it!"

Warren threw it toward Victor. It landed squarely in his hands.

DING!

(You have committed an evil act—forcefully taking another person’s possession. Your Lifespan has increased from 80 to 150 years!)

[Lifespan: 150 Years]

This reward shocked Victor.

For cultivators, Lifespan wasn’t just about how long they could live—it was also a reserve of power.

When sacrificed, it could be converted into immense strength.

It could be increased through higher cultivation or life-enhancing resources.

More importantly, when one’s Lifespan far exceeded their age, it made cultivation easier.

Victor glanced at the book in his hand before standing up and nodding.

"Thank you, Uncle," he said casually before walking out.

Warren’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets upon hearing that.

"Father, what is this?!" Ryan protested loudly.

"What? Do you want that woman to come take it from you herself? She stole something far more valuable from the Dragon Blood Sect, and none of them could stop her. How do you expect to stop her?" Warren shouted again.

In truth, he was only angry at himself—for being unable to protect his son’s rights.

Unfortunately, he was the type to vent his frustration on others, even when it stemmed from his own weakness.

Victor carried the book back to his mother’s castle without hiding it—he didn’t even have a storage ring yet.

People saw it, and their eyes widened in shock.

Ryan had shown it off more than once—so why was it now in Victor’s hands?

Back at the castle, Victor didn’t see his mother.

Only Emma was there—and her eyes lit up when she saw the book.

"Young Master, I will help you obtain this Merit Law," she said.

Victor nodded and handed the golden book to her.

"I need a drop of your blood," she added.

"Just take it," Victor replied, unafraid. The previous talent test had taken even more blood.

Emma pricked his thumb with a small needle.

The drop of blood fell onto the golden book.

Then, she infused it with her spiritual energy.

Buzz!

It emitted a dazzling golden light.

A golden sphere emerged from the book, which instantly turned to ashes.

Shua!

The sphere flew straight into Victor’s forehead.

DING!

(You have obtained the Tyrannical War Body Merit Law, a Heaven Class Merit Law. As battles grow more intense, the Tyrannical War Body will activate, significantly increasing your physical strength. The greater your mastery, the greater the boost. It also contains an innate technique called Explosion of War Aura, which can only be used once you reach 90% mastery!)

Because of the System, Victor could instantly understand the ability of the Tyrannical War Body Merit Law without needing to read it.

Now, streams of information filled his mind—waiting to be comprehended.

It was so complex that it left him momentarily confused.

But understanding a Merit Law was never a short process—especially one of Heaven Class.

"Is there anything confusing, Young Master?" Emma asked gently.

From Houtian, Xiantian, Lord, Sage, Sovereign, Great Sovereign, Paragon, True Paragon, all the way to World Monarch—

She herself stood at the Great Sovereign Realm. Guiding Victor would be effortless for her.

"No, I’ll go to my room..." Victor replied. He didn’t feel the need for guidance yet.

He went to his room, wanting to cultivate alone.

Inside this castle, he could sense spiritual energy even more clearly—far easier to absorb.

He sat on his bed, back straight, hands resting on his thighs. Closing his eyes, he tried to absorb the spiritual energy around him.

Without talent, one might need to cultivate for 24 hours just to absorb a single unit of Spiritual Energy.

But with the Diamond Skeleton, Victor could absorb one in ten minutes.

This was already extremely fast.

As a strand of spiritual energy entered and merged with his body, he felt an indescribable comfort—and a clear increase in strength.

He didn’t stop.

At the same time, his mind worked to comprehend the Tyrannical War Body Merit Law.

With the Diamond Skeleton active, the initially confusing aspects became far clearer.

He could feel it.

This Merit Law was meant to unleash hidden potential—power that should have been impossible to access.

After a little over three hours, Victor opened his eyes.

"So this is how it feels..."

Victor looked at his hand.

A strand of spiritual energy appeared—like a cluster of water.

With a single thought, it transformed into blazing fire.

Sky Class fire.

If it had been Earth Class, it would’ve been no different from ordinary flames.

At last, he understood what it felt like to possess power.

By the time he finished training, the sky had already turned dark.

It was night.

Even with talent, cultivation was still a slow process.

Three hours—and that was all he had achieved.

Only 1% mastery of the Tyrannical War Body Merit Law.

From 1% to 2%, the time required would likely be far longer.

If he wanted to grow faster... he would have to rely on the System.

Commit evil.

After thinking for a moment, he stood up and walked out of his room.

Emma was still in the living room, reading a book.

When she saw him, she immediately put it down.

"Young Master..." she greeted.

"I want to go to the city," Victor said.

"The city?" Emma was slightly surprised.

Victor rarely left the house during the day—let alone at night.

And now, he suddenly wanted to go out.
