My Mate Has Two Wolves

Chapter 432

Chapter 432

The media exposed Mirabel's arrest, a move deliberately orchestrated by Leo. He wanted every woman envious of Sunny to understand—jealousy was acceptable, but crossing the line to harm others was not.

The incident caused a sensation on the internet. A huge weight lifted from Sunny's heart—now that the mastermind was found, she no longer had to live in fear.

The next day, Sunny waited for a producer in the lobby.

With the storm subsiding, she decided to resume her role in the historical drama she had previously taken on, throwing herself back into her work wholeheartedly.

As she focused on studying the script, someone suddenly snatched it from her hands.

Accompanying the action was a familiar, mocking voice, "Tsk, still not giving up? After being dumped by Leo, you still dream of being the leading role?"

The script thief was her stepsister, Tasha. Dressed in a pink woolen coat, Tasha looked innocent but couldn't hide her sharp tongue.

She flipped through the script—it was the one previously hyped to pair Sunny with Leo.

"What are you doing here?" Sunny coldly stood up and reclaimed the script.

Tasha placed her hands on her hips, arrogantly declaring, "I've met a top agent who invited me for a signing talk."

"Oh? Should I congratulate you?" Sunny's face was expressionless.

"Would you?" Tasha sneered, "Even if you say congratulations, you're probably cursing me in your heart. What are you doing here? Trying to be a nuisance?"

Sunny sneered, "Speaking of being a nuisance, I can't hold a candle to you." She raised an eyebrow, "Why not confirm if you can even get signed first?"

"Are you cursing me?" Tasha's expression changed abruptly.

"I'm just suggesting you show results before bragging."

Fuming, Tasha stormed off, only to encounter the agent she was meeting descending the stairs. They entered the lounge together in the elevator.

"Digby, that Sunny is so shameless! She's been dumped by Leo, yet she still lingers in the company!" Tasha complained indignantly.

Digby's face turned pale instantly. "Miss Cook, watch your words!"

"What's there to fear? I'm not lying," Tasha crossed her arms, feigning innocence.

"Have you not been following the news lately?"

"I just got back from a vacation in Paris," Tasha frowned, "I've been busy. I don't have time for gossip."

"Do you have a beef with Sunny?" Digby's smile froze.

"Of course! That woman and her mother usurped our home. I wish I could kick them out. Now that her mother even had two more sons. I can't do anything about her, but Sunny's been my punching bag since we were kids!"

"I see..." Digby stood up, "Let's call it a day for today. We'll meet again next time."

"Wait! We were supposed to discuss the contract!" Tasha finally sensed something was wrong.

"There's nothing to discuss. Please leave," Digby didn't want to risk getting burned—no agent would dare sign an artist who had crossed the boss's girlfriend.

Tasha was furious. She pulled out her phone to check the news.

The headline was about Mirabel's arrest.

"Serves her right!" she spat, scrolling further down. Her face grew paler, and her fingers began to tremble.

"No way... Is this true?" Tasha was nearly devastated—Leo had actually sent Mirabel to prison to protect Sunny.

"What's going on? They didn't break up?" Tasha was shocked beyond measure, more so than when she had heard about her father's remarriage years ago.

She finally understood why Digby was avoiding her—through the Mirabel incident, everyone knew that crossing Sunny meant crossing Leo.

And she had just admitted to being at odds with Sunny...

"Son of a bitch!" Tasha wanted to smash her phone but couldn't bear to part with it. She could only bite her lip in anger.

She had just mocked Sunny in the lobby and was immediately slapped in the face—this humiliation was indescribable.

"She deliberately set me up to embarrass me! What a jerk!"

Tasha quickly blamed Sunny, convinced that she had deliberately kept her relationship with Leo under wraps just to see her humiliated.

Enraged, she stormed downstairs and saw Sunny still sitting in the same spot. With a burst of fury, she charged over.

Sunny was discussing script details with the producer when she noticed Tasha approaching with a face like thunder.

"Sunny, I need to talk to you!" Tasha suppressed her anger but refrained from swearing in public.

Sunny glanced at her coldly. "Sorry, I'm in the middle of something."

"Aren't you concerned about your mother's situation?" Tasha struck at Sunny's weakness—though Sunny's relationship with the Cook family was tense, she still worried about her mother.

Sunny's face turned cold.

Tasha threatened again, but she didn't dare truly provoke Sunny—her mother still lived under the Cooks' roof, and she feared Tasha might retaliate subtly.

After apologizing to the producer, Sunny followed Tasha to a secluded corner.

"What's really going on between you and Leo? You two didn't break up, did you? Why keep it from me? Just to make me look foolish?" Tasha demanded furiously.

Sunny sneered. "Do I need to report my relationship with him to you?"

"I'm your family! You made me embarrassed in public!"

"Now you admit to being my family? Do you not know how you've treated me over the years?" Sunny shot back, "I have no obligation to help you."

Speechless, Tasha knew she was in the wrong for the years of bullying.

"Do you know what it's like to have your family stolen from you? Is it any wonder I'm not nice to you? You accuse me of bullying, but have you ever considered my grievances?" Tasha suddenly changed tactics, beginning to cry.
