Chapter 89: A heaven defying cheat treasure item that makes one unparalleled under the heavens!
Somewhere, on the flat roof of a high building, Bai Ningxue was busy contacting her teacher. However, she had learned from her previous experience that she was not at a level high enough to witness her Teacher’s true form.
That, or her Teacher was being mean and trying to show off his Immortal Master status.
This time, she spent many hours and finally located her Teacher’s clone.
"So the Witch merely wanted a mana stone... That is a very foolish witch." Her Teacher sighed and shook his head.
"Hmm. The crazy guy, I mean, Xiao Shen fellow, is very strange himself. I couldn’t sense the smallest iota of mana in his body, yet he singlehandedly defeated two Second Level True Arcanist rank Warlocks by himself." Bai Ningxue said.
"Oh? Well that’s to be expected, silly girl!" Her Teacher rolled his eyes with a small smile on his face. "Do you really think a person with a fragment of immortality would be normal? Let me tell you, that fellow is still an ordinary mortal, even."
Bai Ningxue had her heart violently shudder in her chest. "Teacher... He’s a mortal?!"
"Indeed. As a mortal, he has unalived two Second Level True Arcanist rank Warlocks by himself," The corners of her Teacher’s lips curled up into a smile...
Ugh, no! It was a smirk! Cool guys don’t smile, they smirk!
Anyways, he smirked and folded his hands. "While a certain someone still does not dare drink her advancement potion."
Bai Ningxue instantly lowered her head.
It is said that the greatest fear of man was the fear of the unknown, and, honestly, it was true...
Psyche!
It was true, but, at the same time, untrue!
The only true fear of man was the fear of death!
If an advancement potion was not properly prepared, then it was certain to lead to death!
Since an advancement potion had no specific formula, she had to concoct it according to her intuition.
And, if her intuition was wrong, then she was sure to perish!
Of course, she did not want to perish!
"Teacher... I..." Bai Ningxue stuttered.
"No, no. You are scared. That is normal. Humans all fear death and survive till now because they do so..." Her Teacher waved her off. Then, he jerked his head in the direction of a small villa in the distance. "Heh. Is that so?"
Bai Ningxue raised a brow and looked at her. "Teacher?? What happened?"
She had grown up seeing that look and knew exactly what it meant.
Her Teacher had found something interesting!
"Someone is here. Someone I used to know a long, long time ago." Her Teacher had a profound look on his face as he gazed into the distance.
"Ohh?" Her eyes brightened with surprise. "Another immortal??"
The more immortals her Teacher found and conquered, the more he could recover.
If he recovered completely and became unparalleled under the heavens, would she have any issues with advancing to immortality herself?
My teacher is unparalleled under the heavens, beat me if you can!
That thought made her feel very happy.
"Yes. It is another immortal." Her Teacher nodded his head. He adjusted his glasses on his nose and made it refract a cold light as the corners of his lips curled up into a smirk. "But this immortal is someone who even I do not dare go against."
"Wow..." Bai Ningxue’s eyes widened. In her mind, her teacher was the pinnacle of strength, even if he was grievously injured!
Then, she frowned. "Will there be a problem as that person is here, Teacher?"
In this modern era, the remaining immortals were either injured, dead, or in hiding.
If one of those immortals who had gone into hiding were to suddenly pop up, did that not mean trouble for the ordinary mortals?
These immortals were beings who knew little to nothing about the ways of the mortal world and still abided by the old ways of the cultivation world.
If someone looked at them wrongly, they would kill the person!
If someone annoyed them, then they would kill the person!
If someone annoyed them, then they would kill the person!
If they lost their way, then they would tear apart everything in their path and take a straight line to their destination!
In today’s world where people would take out their phones and begin to video any incident that happens so that they would post it in their WeChat moments, there would definitely be a manslaughter!!
Not to mention the fact that there were houses and skyscrapers everywhere!
"Ah, no worries, Ningxue." Her Teacher shook his head. "That person is not someone who likes to indulge in the slaughter of mortals. Though, since she has appeared, then, surely, more and more Immortals will also appear."
"Hmm?" Bai Ningxue asked in confusion as she tilted her head slightly. "Why is that, Teacher?"
"That is because that person carries within her a treasure that the heavens would never allow to exist." Her Teacher shook his head. "As she has appeared, people surely will come seeking her out. If I myself were not injured, I would have gone to seek her out too."
"Hmm?" Bai Ningxue raised a brow. "Why, Teacher?"
"Heh." Her Teacher shook his head and let out a small laugh. He changed the topic and gave her a smirk. "Imagine if there were potion formulas and advancement rituals that would ensure your successful advancement by a hundred percent. Would you like it?"
Her eyes brightened and she nodded her head vigorously. "Yes, Teacher!"
A guide complete with potion formulas and advancement rituals would save hundreds of Witches, Sorcerers, Warlocks, Mages and Wizards from death due to failed advancements.
Advancement potions were usually concocted from one’s intuition and a single mistake would cause the whole thing to fail.
The worst part of it all was that a failed advancement potion and a successful one were no different in look, or texture, could not be divinated, and had no way of identification.
So one would not even have the slightest idea whether their potion had failed or not!
Bai Ningxue thought a bit, and her excitement dimmed as she shook her head. "But nothing of the sort exists, right, Teacher?"
If such a cheat like object existed, would everyone not be unparalleled under the heavens?
"What do you think that person carries?" Her Teacher smirked again.
Bai Ningxue’s eyes widened in shock and surprise. "Holy sh*t!"
