Chapter 61: Bai Ningxue: Summoning Teacher’s projection is simply too dangerous!!!
Bai Ningxue counted the time in her mind. Once the clock struck two o’clock, she stood up. "I’m going on my break!"
"Oh, ok." Another Sister Nurse nodded her head. "I’ll hold down the fort."
"Mmn." Bai Ningxue nodded her head and stood up, leaving the clinic.
Outside, she went over to the back of the clinic and took out a stick. But this was not an ordinary stick. It was, in fact, a high grade magic treasure wand.
She manipulated her spiritual energy and used the wand to spread it. As the wand moved in her hand, a silver sliver of energy was emanated from its top.
"Air and light, shall move anew, pass past me till I’m see through..." Bai Ningxue whispered as she cast an illusion spell on herself, making her person invisible to the naked eye.
After she was done, she squatted down on the concrete floor and bit on her finger. Her cute face crumpled in pain as she exerted force on her teeth and drew blood from her finger.
"Ah. Tsk, so painful." Bai Ningxue frowned and looked at the teeth marks on her finger. "And it’s not even deep enough."
She did not dare bite her finger again, however, and directly used her pen to stab her wound, drawing more blood.
"Hiss~" She groaned in pain.
This time, there was enough blood dripping from her wound, such that it was enough to drip from her finger.
She winced in pain and used the blood to draw out a small runic circle, stopping every three or four minutes to look up the diagram on her phone.
Yes, her phone.
What, you thought witches had to use ancient grimoires and scrolls to record spells?
Naive!
The internet was much more practical as, unlike scrolls, they would not become old, weathered and undecipherable, they would not need to be copied out every decade, and spells there could be easily transferred.
Oh, and they would not need to be redrawn upon revision!
It took her about twenty minutes to draw out the magic circle using her blood, during which she, unfortunately, had to cut the wound at least two more times in order to get enough blood. After the runic circle was done, she made a hand seal and began reciting an incantation.
"By the Will of the Heavens, divine. By the Mana breaching heaven and earth. I, Bai Ningxue, summon here, a projection of my Teacher, the Immortal Master of the Path of Pilfering. The Lord of Stealing Life Aura and Swallowing Souls!"
A silver flame burst out from the center of the runic circle, forming the shape of a human person. Bai Ningxue immediately bowed her head and cupped her fists. "Teacher."
This figure was precisely that of the blonde man wearing spectacles. However unlike before, he had eight bright halos of red fire hovering above his head. His blonde hair was extremely long now, and was flying about, while four pairs of white flames formed four pairs of angelic wings behind his back.
"Teacher..." Bai Ningxue looked up with awe. It was rare for her teacher to be in his true form, such that she herself had only seen it twice before.
"Hmm..." Her Teacher said with a raised brow.
However, there was this... ’power’ in his voice, that made her immediately bend over and cough out a mouthful of blood.
Her head throbbed as though it was about to explode and her entire body was on the verge of collapse.
This was the effect of merely hearing the voice of a being at the Immortal level!
"Oh. My apologies, Ningxue..." Her Teacher sighed and shook his head. "I cannot afford to revert to my human form..."
A large sword suddenly cleaved psst, but he managed to elegantly dodge it. However, using a single palm strike, the sword was shattered into tiny pieces as though it were a pane of glass. Sighing once more, he looked back at Bai Ningxue and continued. "Right now. Is anything the matter?"
Bai Ningxue felt like her vision was getting blurry as her very existence was being brutally assaulted by this powerful voice alone. She was already on the verge of collapse, and blood was flowing down her ears.
"Teacher, the youth brought over a witch, a young one who is probably of the First Level Lay Arcanist rank or the Second Level True Arcanist rank. Should I kill her?"
"Ah, so she unexpectedly survived? I had my clone take care of the matter earlier, who would have thought that she would live?" Bai Ningxue’s Teacher shook his head.
"She survived when Teacher wanted her dead?!" Bai Ningxue widened her eyes as blood began dripping down her nose.
"Indeed. This means that the little witch is an interesting person." Bai Ningxue’s Teacher said thoughtfully.
For... Teacher... To find her interesting... I’m actually jealous...
Bai Ningxue thought to herself. By now, her thoughts had turned sluggish and blood colored tears began to run down her cheeks. Her nose and ears were also bleeding copiously, while her eyes were filled with squirming red capillaries.
Her body temperature rose sharply and her arteries and veins were bulging beneath her skin. She winced in pain and coughed out a mouthful of blood. Wiping her mouth with her sleeve, she forced herself to speak.
"W.... What... What should... What should I do? T... T... Tea... Teacher..."
"Observe them. If she makes a move to harm the boy, then finish her off. If she shows any unusual traits, then report them to me." Bai Ningxue’s Teacher said while the corner of his lips slowly curled up. "If my suspicions are correct, then she might be the back up plan for a certain someone I used to know a long, long, loooooooooooong time ago."
He said, putting special emphasis on the ’long’ to give her an idea on how much time had passed since then. If an ordinary person had done so, then they would have looked weird and foolish. But, as an immortal level being with eight bright halos of red fire and four pairs of white wings behind his back, it was charming.
So beautiful~
Bai Ningxue thought as her consciousness faded.
"If that is all, then I’ll be leaving first. See you soon, Bai Ningxue." Her Teacher gave her a nod and turned around, making the flames surge high into the sky and disperse into thin air.
Bai Ningxue, who was already on the verge of losing consciousness and dying, suddenly felt like a great pressure had been removed from her person. Her eyes slowly opened up and she coughed out another mouthful of blood.
Wiping her mouth, sighed. "Next time, I’ll just go and look for Teacher’s clone instead..."
This projection summoning stuff was too dangerous!
