My Idle System

Chapter 384: The Life Attribute

Chapter 384: The Life Attribute

After staring at the glowing Vitalis Stone resting in Anastasia's palm for a few long seconds, where the tempting golden light seemed to pulse softly, almost calling to him. Christian let out a deep sigh and finally gave up on it.

"Then do you at least have an essence technique related to the Life attribute? And if you have several… can you give me the best one?"

Having long since stopped feeling embarrassed about asking Anastasia for things, Christian asked without any hesitation.

If he couldn't obtain the Vitalis Stone itself, then the next best option was obvious. He needed a technique related to Life Essence, and naturally, the stronger it was, the better.

Yet Anastasia merely shook her head with an amused smile.

"Your appetite keeps growing bigger and bigger. Unfortunately, the best technique I possess belongs to the Blood Power System, so it wouldn't be suitable for you."

As she spoke, another crystal appeared in her hand, this time one Christian immediately recognized as an information crystal.

"This one is still strong enough to help you reach the Transformation rank, though. You can try practicing it."

Christian's hand moved almost instantly, snatching the crystal slip before Anastasia could even finish speaking, as if afraid she might suddenly change her mind.

At the same time, another thought surfaced in his mind.

Just how powerful was the other technique for Anastasia to consider it the superior one?

For a brief moment, he was genuinely tempted to ask for it. After all, he had long been interested in exploring the Blood Power System.

But in the end, he restrained himself.

Trying to chew more than he could handle right now would only slow him down further. For the moment, he should be satisfied with what she had already given him.

Or at least, that was what he wanted to think.

Unfortunately, Anastasia's next playful remark immediately made his expression drop.

"Anyway, you can just treat this technique as payment for the android you made for me~"

"So it's not a gift?" Christian asked in an intentionally pitiful tone.

Anastasia looked at his exaggerated sad expression and sighed, clearly unable to keep up the act for long.

"Just how obsessed are you with collecting techniques when you can't even practice half of them?"

Though phrased like a question, Anastasia didn't wait for an answer. Instead, with another sigh, she cut straight to the point.

"So? What kind of technique do you want?"

Christian's expression brightened immediately.

"One related to Fate."

At the mention of Fate, Anastasia suddenly fell silent.

Not because Fate was considered one of the most difficult attributes to wield, standing alongside Time, but for an entirely different, far more personal reason.

Clearly unwilling to dwell on that topic, she quietly waved her hand, summoning another crystal slip.

"For Fate-related techniques capable of reaching the Transformation rank, I only possess two, and both belong to the Blood Power System, so you probably won't be able to practice them anytime soon… but you can still take this one."

Unlike before, Christian didn't immediately reach out to grab the crystal. He had noticed the subtle change in her expression, the fleeting trace of sadness mixed with quiet anger that passed through her eyes.

For a moment, he wanted to ask what was wrong. He wanted to know what painful memory or hidden scar his request had accidentally touched.

But in the end, he held himself back.

It still felt like a territory he was too early to step into. And more importantly, with his current strength, there was nothing he could do for her even if he learned the truth.

So, he silently stored the crystal slip away before softly saying,

"Thanks."

Anastasia merely nodded. Yet the faint heaviness around her seemed to disappear once she saw the excitement in his expression. Her usual smile returned as she suddenly asked, "By the way… you're not using the Vitalis Stone?"

Christian blinked in surprise. "You're still giving it to me?"

"Do I look like someone who goes back on her word?" Tilting her head faintly, she added with a playful glint in her eyes, "You can use it right now if you want."

Christian hesitated for only a moment. Absorbing the Vitalis Stone now would not only extend his lifespan and slightly boost his talent, but it would also probably give him a head start when he began training in Life essence techniques later, making it much easier to help Eva.

The suggestion was excellent, so he nodded without much delay.

Reaching out, he grabbed the Vitalis Stone into his hand.

But, a few seconds passed and… nothing happened.

Eventually, he had no choice but to awkwardly ask, "How exactly do I absorb it?"

Not only was he shamelessly asking for treasures, he was now asking her to feed him step-by-step. The embarrassment was killing him. Yet Anastasia didn't seem to mind at all.

"It requires essence manipulation," she explained patiently. "But that would still be too difficult, inefficient, and time-consuming for you right now."

Then she added naturally, "So I'll help you absorb it."

Without waiting, she took the Vitalis Stone back and gently pressed it against his chest. Warm power flowed from her fingertips into his body.

The situation this time was completely different from when he had entered the tranquil state earlier.

Back then, Christian had been conscious yet almost detached from reality, unable to properly perceive everything happening around him.

Now, however, he could feel everything with overwhelming clarity.

At some point, the crystal suddenly melted in her hand, turning from solid into a shimmering liquid, then into a glowing golden gas. The energy seeped directly into his chest, spreading through him.

His body trembled faintly, and a groan escaped Christian's lips almost immediately.

Not from pain, but from pleasure. An overwhelming, unprecedented kind of pleasure, so intense that even the peak of physical pleasure with his women couldn't compare.

Anastasia had already told him the Vitalis Stone would increase his lifespan and improve his talent. Christian had assumed the effects would stop there.

Clearly, he had underestimated it.

He could feel his body growing stronger in real time.

And the changes didn't stop there.

They spread even into the essence within him.

Space. Lightning. Fire. Shadow. Different in strength and quantity, yet those were the attributes he currently possessed, swirling in his core.

Now… another attribute quietly joined them.

Life.
