Chapter 383 383: A Million Years
Chapter 383 383: A Million Years
Anastasia probably thought she had poured cold water over his confidence, but Christian remained completely unshaken.
Still, instead of arguing or trying to explain just how amazing he… or rather, his Idle System was, Christian simply asked.
"Alright, I get it now. Things are more troublesome than I thought." Then, with a faint grin, he added, "So please enlighten me, Miss Anastasia… how can I help her?"
A small chuckle escaped Anastasia at his words, but she didn't seem to mind his cheekiness as she began explaining.
"To HELP her, there are a few methods."
Christian gave her an odd look at the way she stressed the word 'help,' but stayed quiet as she continued.
"You already possess fairly high-level essence manipulation skills. So if you continue refining them for another ten thousand years or so, you might have a chance."
Then she added casually, "And before you ask, even my own skill in essence manipulation isn't high enough for this."
The first method already sounded completely unrealistic, so Christian simply listened as she moved on to the second.
"The next method involves Life Essence. You would need to gradually fill the void within her physique using Life Essence, and the physique would slowly repair itself on its own."
"To actually restore her physique, this is the most realistic approach. Even then, you would still need someone highly proficient in the Life element, and the process would take a very long time."
Christian barely heard the second half of her explanation.
His attention had already locked onto two specific words.
Life Essence.
To him… obtaining that might actually be possible.
Was this the answer?
He was still thinking about it when Anastasia continued with the final method.
"And lastly, if your goal is simply to let her train in essence, then you can strip the physique away entirely. That is both the easiest and most realistic option available to you right now."
Noticing the subtle change in his expression, Anastasia added, "Don't worry. Even without the physique, her talent would still remain quite decent."
Truthfully, she actually hoped he would choose this method.
After all, he could obtain a special physique for himself that way, and naturally, she would help him repair it afterward.
But just as she expected…
"Even then, you know I wouldn't choose this option, right?"
Anastasia merely shrugged.
"Well, it's your choice."
Christian narrowed his eyes and stared at her for a moment. If he wasn't already certain she had no hidden designs on Eva's physique, his reaction would have been very different.
Still, after thinking things through, the safest method for now remained using Life Essence, even if it would take time.
"So… is there a way to shorten the process if I use Life Essence?"
He asked mostly just to be sure, yet the answer he received surprised him.
"Naturally, there is." A playful smile appeared on Anastasia's face as a golden crystal suddenly materialized in her hand.
The moment it appeared, the surrounding air seemed to distort faintly, and a warm, soothing wave washed over Christian's entire body.
He immediately felt a strange sense of comfort spread through his body, as if every cell within him had relaxed at once. It was like receiving the most perfect massage imaginable, his entire body reaching a state of vitality he hadn't even realized was possible.
For a brief moment, unmistakable greed flashed in his eyes as he stared at the glowing crystal. But, he quickly shook his head, forcing himself to regain control.
Even before Anastasia explained anything, he had already understood what this was.
A natural treasure aligned with the Life attribute.
He had encountered natural treasures before, ice-attributed ones, among others, but none of them came even remotely close to the crystal before him now.
And Anastasia's next words confirmed it.
"Using this Vitalis Stone, her physique could be repaired almost immediately."
That easily?
Christian blinked.
The greed he had barely suppressed surged back almost instantly, clouding his eyes once more. His gaze shifted between the smiling Anastasia and the golden crystal in her hand before he finally thickened his skin and asked.
"Can I have it?"
Something this precious, Christian hadn't expected her to hand it over so easily.
Yet Anastasia seemed determined to keep surprising him today… in a good way.
"Yes, you can."
The smile had barely begun forming on his lips when Anastasia's next words immediately poured cold water over his enthusiasm.
"But you are not allowed to use it on your woman. You must use it yourself."
Silence settled between them for a moment.
Anastasia, as always, was absurdly generous. Even without fully understanding the exact value of the Vitalis Stone, Christian could already tell it was something priceless beyond imagination… and yet she was willing to give it away so casually.
But only for him.
So what exactly was he supposed to feel right now? Gratitude? Or frustration that she refused to let him use it for Eva?
After a moment, he let out a quiet sigh.
"You know I don't really need it, right?"
"Who said that?"
Anastasia shook her head lightly at what she clearly considered a foolish assumption.
"Even with all your extraordinary abilities, I still worry about your lifespan. This crystal alone could increase it by nearly a million years."
For a brief moment, Christian genuinely failed to react.
Only after several seconds did he slowly repeat, "A million?"
"Yes. A million. It's that precious," Anastasia replied calmly before continuing, "And besides, it would also improve your talent slightly."
Then, without the slightest hesitation, she added, "Anyway, this crystal is far too valuable and useful for me to waste on someone I don't particularly care about."
Despite hearing such an astronomical number, something he would have never imagined before, Christian still found himself caring surprisingly little about the increase in lifespan.
Thanks to his Idle System, he had strong confidence in his future. A longer lifespan sounded good, but it wasn't something he desperately craved.
So, for a moment, frustration flickered inside him. But in the end, even that faded away.
Because Anastasia was right.
Eva was his responsibility. His woman.
And Anastasia had never been obligated to help her in the first place.
