Preparing for war

(3rd person P.O. V)

Erika sat on her throne, and Logan was sitting next to her. They were listening to the report from her search party. They had been following Victor for days, waiting for any sign of his next move. Finally, they had seen him walking out of his hideout with a group of people who were under his mind’s control.

“He’s setting traps for you,”

“We couldn’t find out where his hideout is. He suddenly pops out of the blue and disappears after his work is done,”

“Since he was not alone, I guess he had prepared for the war,”

Erika leaned forward, her eyes narrowing as she listened to the report. This was not good news. Victor was one step ahead of them, and they needed to act fast.

“We have seen him draw this circle in the many areas of the battleground,” the search leader said and pass the papers of drawing to Erika.

“Here is the list of the places where he had drawn the circle,” the vice-captain said and handed the list to her.

“Thank you for your report,” Erika said, rising from her throne. “I will hold a meeting with the council. In the meantime, I want you to keep a close eye on Victor and his movements. Report back to me as soon as you have any new information.”

The search party nodded and bowed before making their way out of the palace.

“Do you know what that drawing is?”

“Yes, I do. It looks familiar, yet different,”

“It’s a space connecting a magic circle,” Mika said inside my mind.

“Since the teleportation takes more time. This is an ancient magic spell. It was used to connect the space and teleport a huge amount of people or things non-stop for a short time,”

“So, he is planning to ambush us and overwhelmed us with a huge amount of army? ”

“Yes. Something is different in this circle. I don’t know why but I can’t able to point it out. ”

“It’s okay, Mika. This information is enough for now.”

Erika stood there for a moment, lost in thought. She knew they were in a difficult situation and that they needed to act fast if they wanted to stop Victor’s plans.

“We need to convene a meeting of the council,” she said. “We need to come up with a plan of action, and fast.”

Logan nodded, his expression serious.

“I’ll send out the invitations immediately,” he said.

“We’ll meet as soon as possible,” Logan said and walks out to complete her order, while Erika goes to the mysterious room to find the information about a magic circle in the books of her secret library. She spends two days looking for information related to the magic circle but failed.

After two days, Everyone gathered in Erika’s castle for the meeting. As Erika entered the throne room, her eyes scanned the faces of her advisors and commanders, all gathered around the long table in the center of the room. The atmosphere was tense and quiet as they waited for her to speak. With a deep breath, Erika explained the reason for their gathering.

“My informant has informed me that Victor has prepared for war,” Erika announced, her voice carrying authority and urgency.

“He’s been moving people and weapons to the battleground, and we don’t know when he plans to attack. But it will be soon.”

The room erupted into murmurs and whispers as the gravity of the situation sank in.

“He’s planning to overwhelm us by using an ancient spell that connects space between two spaces. This will allow him to transport a massive army to our doorstep, and we must be prepared for it.”

There was a moment of silence as everyone absorbed the information, and then Alaric, one of Erika’s most trusted advisors, spoke up.

“If he’s using that circle, we might use it to find him,” he suggested. “We can use our own spell to track his movements and strike first.”

“But what if it was a trap set by him for us?” Magnus, Erika’s another trusted advisor, asked.

“Actually, when he drew that magic circle, the search party members saw it and draw it on a piece of paper to give it to me. The pattern of that circle was different.”

“I knew it was a trap. He would not be so stupid to do that,” Zack commented.

“So, what are you planning to do?”

“I was planning to go there myself and checked myself,”

The council member raised the objection to her decision, saying that it would be dangerous for her and that it would be better for her to send someone to investigate it. Erika raises her hand and they quit. She said she can’t do that. It would be dangerous for them. We have already lost many people. She can’t risk any to put any more people in a dangerous situation, but she assures them she will not go there alone.

Besides, it would be better to check the situation there herself. And then she can make plans and strategies there. But for now, they should start preparing for the war.

On the following day, Erika, Logan, and other powerful demons go to one of the locations mentioned in the list and checked the situation. She walked to where the search party have marked the cross mark on the ground and check the mark.

It was indeed the space magic circle, but Victor had put the barrier magic on it. A person can come out from that circle but can’t enter inside the circle without the caster’s permission. Erika tells her finding to Logan.

“How are you planning to deal with this problem?”

“I was planning to have some people surround this circle and capture the people with minimum damage. I will try to destroy the barrier if possible.”

After talking with the search party for some more time, both of them head home. They have a video conference with other council members. Erika shared her findings with them. They shared the list of the places where Victor was spotted drawing that circle on the ground and ordered them to make a team and send them to guard that magic circle.

If something happens around the magic circle, they must inform her as soon as possible. They discuss different strategies and plan to defeat Victor and start working on their plans.
