Chapter 516: The Priceless Wedding Gift from Bo Leng
Chapter 516: The Priceless Wedding Gift from Bo Leng
Lou Manman noticed blood seeping through Bo Leng’s crisp suit trousers and cried out in alarm, "You’re injured too?"
Just like Mo Yinhe, Lou Manman squatted down. She lifted Bo Leng’s pant leg and saw that his calf injury was even more shocking to behold than Si Mingjing’s. Tears immediately welled in her eyes. Looking up at her husband, she asked, "Does it hurt?"
Bo Leng pulled her up, wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, his voice still indifferent and cold as he said, "Hurt? Am I a woman?"
"You’re not a woman, but does that mean you’re not human? Is your flesh made of steel?"
Lou Manman gave a firm push, making Bo Leng sit down on a nearby chair.
She also called for a doctor and nurse but, in the end, just like Mo Yinhe, she tended to her husband’s leg wound herself.
Fortunately, they were only superficial injuries, with no damage to tendons or bones.
While the doctor didn’t consider it a major issue, Mo Yinhe and Lou Manman were already so heartbroken they could barely breathe.
After the wounds were treated, Mo Yinhe swept Si Mingjing into his arms, intending to carry her back to Bo Fengyin’s children’s room.
In those few hours, after dealing with public relations matters, Mo Yinhe had stayed in Bo Fengyin’s children’s room, looking at photos of his son from infancy onwards.
He had missed his child’s growth and could only try to make up for it through photographs.
And, of course, there were videos too.
Lou Manman had taken many photos of Bo Fengyin growing up and had given them all to him.
Mo Yinhe hadn’t finished looking through them yet; he wanted to view them together with Mingjing.
As Mo Yinhe carried Si Mingjing to the children’s room, Si Mingjing held Bo Fengyin in her arms.
Bo Fengyin coolly said to Si Mingjing, "Mom, Little Dragon is super heavy. Little Dragon can walk on his own."
Si Mingjing didn’t let go. Looking up at Mo Yinhe, she asked, "Are the child and I heavy?"
"Not heavy!" They felt substantial in his heart, a reassuring weight.
Si Mingjing smiled and, looking down, replied to Bo Fengyin, "Your dad says we’re not heavy."
Mo Yinhe held the mother and son steadily and tightly, his gaze alternating between Si Mingjing and Bo Fengyin.
"Mingjing!" Mo Yinhe desperately wanted to kiss his woman.
The sense of happiness she brought him was overwhelming.
But Mo Yinhe was deeply self-critical. What have I even done these past five years? I spent every day immersed in the pain of losing you, never realizing you had brought me so many surprises. I’m not a qualified husband or father. I should have found the children sooner.
Si Mingjing felt the same way; she had essentially wasted her time on Prison Star all these years.
She met his gaze, seeing the remorse deep in his eyes, and affirmed, "No, you are a qualified husband. For five years, you didn’t let any other woman take advantage of the situation, nor did you remarry. Otherwise, my babies would be living in a single-parent family."
Mo Yinhe laughed through his tears. "You have such low standards for your husband?"
"They’re very high."
Very few men could wait for a woman for five years. Besides, he hadn’t just waited five years; he had waited for her for so many years. Didn’t he know exactly how long?
With his hands full, Mo Yinhe lowered his head and gently touched his forehead against hers twice, saying, "I love you."
He wanted to kiss her again.
"Ugh, I’m gonna get a sty! I’m gonna get a sty!" little Bo Fengyin exclaimed, clapping his hands over his eyes.
The child’s words shattered the amorous atmosphere, leaving Mo Yinhe torn between laughter and tears.
He carried the mother and son into the children’s room and placed them on the child’s bed.
Bo Fengyin’s bed was quite large, two meters wide.
Lou Manman said the child was a restless sleeper; once asleep, he would roll all over the bed, so a small bed wasn’t suitable for him. Otherwise, they would surely find him on the carpet the next morning. In this, he was much like Xiaobai, whose sleeping habits were just as bad.
Si Mingjing, seeing the photos of the child on the wall, exclaimed in surprise, "Is this your room, baby?"
Little Bo Fengyin vigorously nodded his adorable little head, then hopped off the bed. He took out lots of snacks from a wall cabinet and, hugging them, returned to the bed. "Mommy, eat! These are all the things your Little Dragon loves!"
Si Mingjing reached out and stroked the child’s small head.
Bo Fengyin twitched his adorably cute little Dragon Horns and then went to get Si Mingjing a drink.
"Daddy, what do you want to drink?" Bo Fengyin asked.
"I don’t want anything. Get your mommy some milk."
Bo Fengyin enthusiastically called him "Daddy," and Mo Yinhe savored it. He stood up and went to the bathroom, returning with a basin of hot water to wash Si Mingjing’s face.
Since her leg was injured, she couldn’t shower or take a bath, so Mo Yinhe carefully wiped her down with a hot towel.
To keep her from getting bored, he turned on the video they hadn’t finished watching. "Manman compiled these," he said. "They’re videos of Fengyin from when he was little until now. She said Bo Leng told her to film them and save them for us to watch later. Your big brother isn’t so bad; he’s the first one to show me videos and photos of our child’s younger days."
These photos and videos were priceless treasures; no amount of money could buy them.
Mo Yinhe said, "This is the best wedding gift your big brother and sister-in-law could have given us!"
Si Mingjing watched and remarked, "I like Big Brother too. He might seem unapproachable and a bit cold on the outside, but he’s very warm-hearted."
On the television screen, Bo Fengyin was just a few months old, crawling nimbly on all fours on the carpet.
In the video, Lou Manman’s voice could be heard: "Fengyin, Fengyin, crawl over to Auntie!"
Bo Fengyin scurried over, and then Lou Manman’s voice said, "Fengyin, you’re so good! Go to your uncle."
Bo Leng sat in a chair reading, looking serious and unsmiling. A few-months-old Bo Fengyin crawled to his feet and tugged at his trouser legs with his small hands.
Bo Leng remained engrossed in his book, unfazed.
Little Bo Fengyin, however, was determined. He scrambled up Bo Leng’s long legs until Bo Leng finally picked him up and placed him on his lap.
Bo Leng continued to read, but the mischievous Bo Fengyin grabbed the book in his hands and—RIP! RIP! RIP!...
Bo Leng’s expression instantly turned thunderous. He pressed the boy onto his lap and raised a hand to spank Bo Fengyin’s tiny bottom.
Before his palm could land on the tender little bottom, Bo Fengyin cleverly burst into hysterical tears...
Lou Manman quickly dived in to rescue the child, snatching him from Bo Leng’s grasp.
The next second, the crying stopped abruptly. Bo Fengyin giggled, laughing like a little imp.
Watching the video, Si Mingjing couldn’t help but laugh out loud. She reached out to pinch Bo Fengyin’s chubby baby cheeks, saying, "You were so clever!"
Bo Fengyin huffed proudly, "Mommy, that little troublemaker definitely isn’t your Little Dragon!"
"How could it not be you? The child in the video has two little Dragon Horns."
Bo Fengyin, feeling embarrassed, sharply turned his head away. He hugged a pile of snacks and began to munch on them, CRUNCH, CRUNCH. His eyes darted around as his heart pounded. What do I do? What if Mommy and Daddy watch too much and find out Little Dragon’s true nature, and then they don’t like Little Dragon anymore?
