CHAPTER 130
CHAPTER 130
At the top of the abbey.
Vito walked with heavy steps, his mouth spitting out wave after wave of insults toward Liara.
“Me… me… get humiliated by a woman?”
Teeth clenched.
“I can’t let her walk out alive. She has to die.”
He stopped in front of a door. As he opened it, he threw out:
“Who wants to kill her more—you or Kurdes?”
Speaking to Tony, tied to the chair.
Vito walked right up to Tony without fear and stopped inches from his face.
“Tell me. If I set you free, will you kill Liara for me?”
Vito asked in an authoritative tone.
Seconds passed. Tony still hadn’t opened his eyes. It pissed Vito off so much he started yelling at him.
“…You’re breaking my ears.”
Tony suddenly spat out.
Still furious, Vito repeated himself.
“So, will you kill Liara for me…”
He froze mid-sentence the moment he met Tony’s eyes.
If he had to describe them, Vito would say Tony’s eyes sent ice down his spine. Completely empty of warmth. Devoid of pity.
At that moment, being torn apart by Tony felt less like a possibility and more like an inevitable, horrific end.
Frozen, he asked with restraint:
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
“What the hell did she do to you to give you that look?”
Laugh.
Laugh.
Laugh.
“You know, no matter what she did to me, I don’t actually want to torture her… But killing her in combat, slowly, painfully—that, I won’t hold back from. Not for anything.”
Tony declared in a calm voice, but his face kept switching between total emptiness and barely-contained madness.
Vito thought hard about what he was going to do.
If I free him, no doubt he’ll go after Liara. The problem is, the second he’s loose, he might kill me too.
Tony saw Vito’s hesitation clear as day and decided to twist the knife.
“After all, it’s either you free me… or Liara kills you.”
He said.
Vito snapped out of his thoughts and frantically asked:
“You… what did she tell you?”
Heh…
Tony hid a small laugh and kept going.
“Ohhh… you know you’d be the next one on this chair, right? Apparently you did something to her so bad that she starts laughing just thinking about what she’s gonna do to you.”
He leaned in and whispered:
“She’ll strip you of your dignity.
Your pride.
Your soul. You’ll be nothing but a puppet she can do whatever she wants with.
And you know the worst part? She was talking about making you suffer like that… for at least five centuries.”
Vito lost his voice. His body shook with hatred and disgust toward Liara.
Across from him, Tony was barely hiding his smile.
“So, which fate do you choose? The one where I throw myself into a deathmatch with her… or the one where you become nothing? Worse than a normal human.”
Tony whispered.
Faced with that choice, Vito didn’t hesitate a single second and freed him.
“…You’re not planning to kill me, right?”
Vito asked, throat tight.
But Tony’s mind was already elsewhere. Standing up, he pulled the sword out of his body. Flames—inside and out—immediately sealed the wound.
This way I won’t bleed out.
Tony thought.
He turned his full attention to Vito, standing right in front of him.
“Now. You’re going to tell me where Liara is.”
Tony declared. His face had suddenly shut down completely. He wasn’t even trying to hide the veil of rage and hatred he carried for her.
At the same moment, deep inside the abbey.
Dina stood facing Manigo and Velio.
None of the three spoke. Except Velio, who couldn’t hold back his impatience.
“You—give me everything you’ve got. What a perfect stage for going all out. So… don’t disappoint me.”
Velio roared, wearing a smile so genuine you could mistake him for a saint.
“Give me a break. That kind of sincerity… but the words don’t match. A real murder enthusiast.”
Dina remarked, then looked at Manigo, who hadn’t taken his eyes off her once.
“You’re twisted too, aren’t you?”
“No. I actually find blood disgusting because of a certain someone. But either way, this is where you meet your end.”
Manigo declared.
He summoned a sword of darkness and covered his face in shadows.
Dina grinned.
“Well then… let’s begin.”
