Chapter 355: Does She Ask Him To Sleep in the Study?
Chapter 355: Does She Ask Him To Sleep in the Study?
...
The factory was shrouded in the darkness, so the light from the laptop screen was extremely bright.
Lori watched the surveillance video with her eyes wide open.
"What is this? This is not true. You are lying to me because you want to dump me."
Lori stared at the screen. In the surveillance video, after she entered the room, Fred followed her in. After a long time, he rushed out.
But she was still in the room.
No one knew what had happened next in the room, but Lori knew, so her face turned cold and pale in an instant.
Then, after a long time, Bruce was helped into the room, but he went out very quickly. Lori followed him out. She was disheveled and it seemed she had just woken up.
Seeing this, Lori shook her head. At the end of the surveillance video, she met Hilla.
"That’s impossible. You went into the room as well. As a man, you must do something to me."
Lori whispered, which sounded clear in the quiet factory.
Hearing this, James, who was beside her, frowned slightly and subconsciously glanced at Bruce, who was in the car.
Bruce should be very angry after hearing it.
Any man would be angry at such words.
As expected, when James’s eyes fell on Bruce’s fingertips, Bruce threw the dart between his fingertips towards Fred.
Then, Fred’s scream began to echo in the empty factory. He curled up on the ground and covered his leg. He was trembling as he stared at the dart in his leg.
"It was me. I did it. I did it all myself."
He said in a shaking voice. He did not dare to look at Lori but nervously looked up at Bruce, who remained motionless in the car.
Bruce was silent from beginning to end, but his look showed he was very impatient.
Hearing this, Lori burst out crying. "No. You didn’t do anything. Why did you admit it?"
She could not believe that Bruce had no feelings for her, even if she liked him so much.
And neither could she believe that Fred, who she had treated as her brother ever since she was young, raped her.
Fred had been the nicest to her since they were in the orphanage. He always protected her, but why did he do that to her? He knew she liked Bruce.
She wanted to give up and start her new life on that day, but Fred ruined everything.
Fred struggled on the ground, but due to his broken leg, he failed to stand up.
He should have been directly sent to the police station, but Lori kept asking for the truth.
"It was me. I drugged you and raped you that night. After that, I deliberately asked the waiter to pour wine on Mr. Anderson because I knew you liked him. If it was him, you would let it go."
"Shut up. It wasn’t you. You said that because you are threatened."
She would rather that it was Bruce and preferred it that Bruce was trying to dump her after raping her. She couldn’t accept the truth.
As an orphan, no one except Fred had been nice to her. Even her parents abandoned her, so Bruce naturally did not like her.
Thus, she hated what she heard. She was dismayed by the result.
"I’m not lying. You like him, so I also want to fulfill your wish. You are happy when you wake up and see him, right?"
"Shut up, you bastard."
Lori rushed forward angrily and hit Fred hard.
She was weak and thin. What was worse, she was trembling with anger, but she almost wanted to kill him.
She roared angrily, "Why did you do that to me? I treated you as my family, but you hurt me.
"Do you know I finally mustered up the courage to give up that day? I was about to start a new life. Why did you do that?
"You ruined me. You ruined my life."
Although she had suspected it and hesitated, she had a fantasy.
Even if Bruce dumped her in the end, she had tried her best and could leave with regrets.
But when she woke up and saw Bruce, he gave her a cold shoulder.
Now that he disliked her, why did he rape her? She was unwilling to be raped and given a cold shoulder.
She had thought he would comfort her. It didn’t matter if he abandoned her, but she didn’t want to be a laughing stock.
"I thought it was Bruce that night. I would even appreciate it if I was raped and got nothing in the end. But it was you. Why? You are my brother.
"You made me shrewd and pitiful in front of him. He is looking down on me now."
Lori crazily beat Fred. She could have left confidently and left a good impression on Bruce, but Fred, a chicken and timid man, ruined everything.
These days, she was like a clown and did many ridiculous things before Bruce and his wife.
Why did Fred hurt her in this way? She just wanted to be an ordinary girl who could date the man she liked.
She wanted a warm family and didn’t want to be so despicable and shrewd.
"Lori, I love you. I have fallen in love with you since I was a child."
"Shut up. I don’t want you to love me."
If love equaled harm, she would rather never be loved.
Lori pressed the back of Fred’s head and kicked on his broken leg.
He said in a low voice, "Sorry. I’m sorry."
James watched this farce coldly and thought it was time to call it off.
He understood Bruce. When Lori brought Bruce back to River City, Bruce was a little grateful to Lori. Nevertheless, gratitude couldn’t be equated with love.
Bruce had thought Lori would figure out the fact herself, so he didn’t directly tell her in case she would be embarrassed.
Unfortunately, Lori failed him.
Looking Bruce in the eye, James nodded and said, "Don’t worry. I will arrange for them to leave River City right now and they will never come back."
Lori was stunned. She looked up at Bruce with red eyes and shook her head. "No, I don’t want to leave River City."
She figured out what was going on and quickly crawled forward. "Sorry, I misunderstood you. Sorry, please don’t be angry with me.
"I promise I won’t see your wife again, and I will never go to your house. I won’t do anything you don’t like, so please don’t expel me."
She enjoyed her time here and had many fun memories. Most importantly, she wanted to be in the same city as him!
...
Lori stepped forward, trying to reach the man in the car.
She was tearful. Lori was neither a stunning beauty nor a girl with exquisite facial features. She looked gentle and fragile, with an innocent smile on her face.
She should be a girl who was loved and pampered. However, she gradually turned herself into a joke.
She knew how ridiculous she was in front of Bruce. Whatever she did to Bruce was unpleasant and in vain.
But she liked him so much. Lori had never thought that she would be with him. She just wanted to get close to him.
"Ms. Gilmore, take care."
James coldly stopped Lori. Till now, she could do nothing to make Bruce change his mind.
She could stay at River City if she didn’t restlessly go to the Anderson family.
Orlenna was not stupid. She knew that Lori tried to force Hilla to leave.
Even Hilla, who felt pity for Lori at first, wouldn’t allow her to ruin her family.
"I will never bother you again only with one word from you. I will never see you again. Do not force me to leave River City. I want to stay here."
Lori pulled the cuff of Bruce’s pants. Bruce, who was sitting in the car, was shrouded in the dark.
Bruce frowned in the dark. He had run out of patience with her.
Seeing this, James immediately asked someone to take Lori away.
James wondered, "Lori is lucky that Bruce hasn’t done anything to her. Lori might not only be asked to leave if she keeps bothering Bruce."
"Bruce, talk to me, say something!"
Seeing that Bruce was indifferent to her, Lori was overwhelmed by her anger and grudge.
If she hadn’t met him, she could have spent her life in the welfare institute without any dreams.
It was her fate to meet Bruce. Since then, Lori had fantasied and hoped. In the end, she was humiliated.
"Why are you so quiet? Are you afraid? I brought you back. Without me, you might have died in the jungle long ago. You wouldn’t have a chance to see her again. Why don’t you talk to me?"
"You don’t deserve it!"
The man said in a deep voice.
His voice was full of magnetism and charming as she remembered. However, it was cold like a sword piercing her heart.
Lori was tired. She slumped on the ground and suddenly giggled.
Her smile was weird under the light. Her face looked pale and her eyes were red due to anger.
"I don’t deserve it? I don’t even deserve to have an answer. No wonder you have been avoiding me and ignoring me these days. You don’t feel sorry for me, because I don’t deserve an explanation."
Lori’s giggling, which sounded strange and cold in the deep night, echoed in the factory.
People would never bother to explain to someone they did not care about. They didn’t need to explain to someone who knew them well.
The car came out of the factory and drove along the mountain roads toward a villa with lights.
Walking out of the bathroom, Hilla heard the noise coming from downstairs. Glancing at the messy room and two sleeping babies, she decided to greet Bruce first.
The moment she opened the door, a familiar warm aura came upon her. Bruce held her in his arms and kissed her. "Stop. You will wake them up."
Hilla pushed him away and glanced at two babies on the bed, sleeping with smiles on their faces.
Hilla was satisfied with her current life and cherished everything she had.
Bruce frowned and said restlessly, "Ask someone to take them back to their room."
"They’re sleeping. Let them stay here tonight. You can sleep in the study."
Bruce thought, "Is she asking me to sleep in the study?"
Seeing that Bruce was reluctant, Hilla grinned, "You are jealous of your sons, aren’t you?"
Bruce raised his eyebrows. Hilla had touched his bottom line.
He picked up Hilla who was shocked. Hilla subconsciously put her arms around Bruce’s neck and her legs on his firm waist. Seeing that Bruce was carrying her toward the study, Hilla lowered her head and asked, "What are you doing?"
"You are mine."
Bruce opened the door of the study and placed Hilla on the desk. After sweeping all
things all over the ground, Bruce bent over.
Bruce’s kisses were gentle and tender, falling between Hilla’s nose and forehead. His breath swept the hair on her forehead. Bruce asked in a low voice, "You are mine. Is that right?"
What a mean person he was!
Thinking about this, she curled her lips. Hilla tightened her arms and whispered, "Yes, I am your woman. I am Bruce’s woman."
After saying that, she took the initiative to kiss him.
In a remote city in the west part of the country.
Different from River City, it was just getting warm here. There was no magnolia flower on the streets. Willows were turning green.
After getting off the plane, Riya saw a familiar figure which was not far from her. She happily waved her hand, "Hello, Reynaldo."
Before the man turned around, Riya put down her luggage and jumped into his arms.
Reynaldo subconsciously stepped backward and held Riya tightly. He frowned and said, "Why are you so excited? Be careful. Haven’t you forgotten about your current condition?"
With a smile on his handsome face, Reynaldo released her and looked down at her, "You look as beautiful and young as before."
Reynaldo was a shy guy. He seriously looked at Reynaldo up and down.
"Of course I am still young. We haven’t seen each other for several years. You are still my younger brother even you grow taller. Where is your car?"
The airport was full of people coming and going. Riya never cared about others’ attention. She walked elegantly in her high heels towards the parking lot.
Reynaldo, who followed her, pulled her luggage and chased after her, "Slow down. Be careful with your belly. You are a grown-up. How come you are still willful as before?"
After settling Riya’s luggage, Reynaldo got into his car. Riya quietly buried her head into his arms.
Riya sobbed.
