Chapter 353: Good Job
Chapter 353: Good Job
James clutched his chest and thought, ’I’m screwed.’
He hoped he was deaf and hadn’t heard what Lori said, but it was out of the question.
"James, what should I do?"
Lori looked up at him with tears in her eyes and asked. James was startled. He also wanted to know what to do. He was afraid that he would fail to keep his job.
"Ms. Gilmore, since Mr. Anderson doesn’t want to see you, it’s useless for you to wait here. You’d better go back. Moreover ... Mr. Anderson also said it was not him that night. I think there must be a misunderstanding."
James found it was so difficult to pass on a message. What was worse, he had no idea about what had happened, so he did not know how to deal with it.
However, the tears began to trickle down Lori’s cheeks again.
This was the entrance of the building, which saw a lot of traffic. It was very eye-catching for him, an outstanding assistant, to stay here.
"What misunderstanding? Why is it a misunderstanding? He insists it is a misunderstanding because he doesn’t want to see me. What can I do?"
Lori had no intention of leaving. She kept repeating the words and crying pitifully.
James had no choice. If she continued to cry, he would be mistaken for the Bluebeard.
"Ms. Gilmore, you’d better go back now. Mr. Anderson said it wasn’t him, so it can’t be him. If you continue to pester him, it won’t do you any good."
Considering Bruce’s personality, James thought Bruce wouldn’t compromise at all.
When Lori heard this, she froze. With tears in her eyes, she stared at him and finally bit her lips.
"James, do you think I’m being unreasonable and pestering him? Who else could it be if it wasn’t him that night? Why was he in the room when I woke up? And the clothes he wore..."
James was terrified. ’Don’t tell me this. I don’t want to listen anymore!’ He clutched his chest and felt he almost got a heart attack.
Why was it so informative? Why did she tell him so much? If he were Bruce, he probably wouldn’t want to see her.
"Ms. Gilmore, I don’t know much about this, but Mr. Anderson has said that he won’t see you. Even if you stay here for a lifetime, he won’t change his mind. Moreover, if you don’t leave, I’m afraid that even if he agrees to see you, he will give you the cold shoulder."
Bruce would even kill her.
Lori looked at herself. She held her hair and nervously said, "Do you mean I look ugly now? He doesn’t like this, right?"
James thought, ’No matter whether you look beautiful or ugly, Mr. Anderson doesn’t like you at all!’
"Then I’ll go back and change my clothes. I’ll be back soon."
Without waiting for James to say anything, Lori turned around and ran away, leaving James freaking out.
’I’m screwed. I’ve successfully persuaded her to leave, but she will be back soon. Mr. Anderson will kill me.’
Hilla was in the Anderson’s mansion.
Since early in the morning, the Andersons had been busy. When Hilla came downstairs, she saw that Orlenna was asking the servants to clean the house.
"Mother, what can I do for you?"
It was the first time Margaret returned home after Margaret got married, so Hilla did not know what she should do.
When Hilla’s parents passed away, she had not married and did not understand these etiquettes, but she instinctively felt that, as Margaret’s sister-in-law, she should do something for Margaret.
Orlenna smiled. "You don’t have to be so solemn. You need to do nothing but give her some money. She likes it most."
Hilla laughed and nodded. "Okay, I will do it right now."
"Don’t give her too much. She will get cocky and cause trouble when she has money."
Hilla stopped and turned around, smiling at Orlenna. "Don’t worry, Margaret is a good girl."
Marriage always taught a girl a lot.
Moreover, Margaret was not satisfied with her marriage, so Hilla was worried.
Now that Margaret was coming back soon, Hilla decided to give her more money than ever so that Margaret wouldn’t be short of cash.
Because Margaret will return home, Bruce naturally didn’t go to the company but worked at home. Seeing that Hilla opened the safe as soon as she returned to the bedroom, he stopped working.
"What are you doing?"
"Margaret is coming soon. I want to give her some money, but the envelope is too small."
Hilla frowned. She sat in front of the safe and stuffed some cash into an envelope.
However, the envelope was not big enough. If she didn’t stuff enough money into it,
Margaret would be annoyed.
Bruce put down the tablet computer and took the envelope from her hand. He took out the cash and put a bank card into it.
Hilla’s eyes lit up as she looked at Bruce with admiration.
As the president of the Anderson Group, he could even take out a bank card at any time.
Looking at the flat envelope, Hilla smiled and was happy that she could put some cash into it as well.
"Just one? Do you have another card?"
Seeing that Bruce had just taken out one card, she couldn’t help shrugging.
They should respectively give Margaret a bank card.
Bruce frowned and thought, "I think it’s enough.
"She has got married, so she can ask her husband for money." After all, the more money they gave her, the less she would ask Julian for. Bruce didn’t want to be taken advantage of.
"Anyhow, she’s your sister. Just give me one more card."
Hilla said. She grabbed Bruce by the collar and pulled him over. Then she began to frisk him and was sure that he had another card.
Bruce spread out his hands without a fight. He looked down at her with a smile touching his lips. "What are you doing? Are you a pervert?"
Startled, Hilla looked up at him. "Give me the card."
Bruce wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her into his embrace.
"You can do anything you want. Why not take off my clothes?"
"Cut the crap. Hurry up and give me the card."
Margaret should arrive soon, so Hilla should put the bank cards into the envelope in advance. Besides, the makeup she had just put on would be smudged.
Nonetheless, Bruce kissed her right on the lips before she could escape or refuse.
As he tightened his hold around her waist, Hilla was hugged tightly.
She wanted to refuse, but Bruce knew her well, so she could not struggle.
"Give me the card."
Hilla persisted as she frisked his body to find a card.
Bruce’s breathing was heavy and hot, which she could feel in her ear. He said in a
husky voice, "I’ll give it to you after sex."
Words failed Hilla.
Suddenly, she heard a car stop downstairs, which meant Margaret and Julian arrived.
Hilla thought she was probably the first woman who was pinned to the bed by her husband when her sister-in-law came back!
...
The gate of the Anderson family, because of Margaret’s return, was opened early in the morning.
Chris stood outside the door and saw the familiar car. He quickly said to the servant beside him, "Ms. Anderson is back. Hurry up and tell Mrs. Anderson."
The car drove past him and directly entered the courtyard. Chris stepped forward to open the car door.
Before he could speak, Margaret got out of the car and ran straight into the house without looking back. He could only hear her crisp and clear voice.
"Take out the things in the car and drive out the man inside."
After saying that, Margaret ran away, completely ignoring Julian who just got out of the car.
Chris looked at Julian awkwardly and whispered, "Good morning, Mr. Jorgansen."
Julian nodded. His voice was calm as if he wasn’t the one Margaret targeted at. "Please take out the things and park the car."
After saying that, he gave the key to Chris and calmly walked after Margaret. "Mother, I’m back!"
As soon as Margaret entered the room, she saw that Orlenna was going downstairs.
With tears in her eyes, she reached out and rushed towards Orlenna.
She had never had that kind of feeling before. She had thought she could go wherever she wanted to go.
But now, after she was married, she felt sad when she returned.
Even Orlenna, who used to snap at her, looked kind and lovable.
Before Margaret could hug her, Orlenna directly pushed Margaret away. Orlenna glanced behind Margaret and frowned, "Do you come back alone?"
Margaret wanted to have a warm hug, but without success, which was completely different from what she saw on TV.
She couldn’t help but roll her eyes and muttered with dissatisfaction, "Yes, I come back by myself. I’ve got Chris to drive him out."
Margaret didn’t know why Orlenna took a fancy to Julian. Could it be that he was good-looking? If so, Orlenna must be a face-judger. However, as a mother, she shouldn’t have a crush on a young man.
Hearing this, Orlenna was so angry that she stepped forward and pinched Margaret.
"You damned girl, you caused me trouble the moment you came back. Do you want us to be the laughing stock of River City?"
"Mother, it hurts!"
Margaret rubbed her arm and thought Orlenna must be menopausal.
’My mother comes from a scholarly family, but she is becoming less and less elegant or graceful. Fortunately, my father died early. If he should see her become so snappish, he would probably be pissed off.
"Now that it’s pain, do you know it is shameful?"
Orlenna was angry and disappointed. She was about to go out to take a look when she saw Julian follow the housekeeper in.
"Good morning, Orlenna!"
Julian was very polite and greeted her at once.
Orlenna nodded in satisfaction and smiled. "I’m glad you are here. Come and take a rest."
Then, she turned to give Margaret a glare.
Margaret was mystified. ’What happened? Where am I? Is this my home?’
"Mother, chase him out."
Margaret stamped her feet anxiously and grabbed Orlenna’s arm.
The hotel was a property of the Jorgansen family, so she couldn’t do anything there.
Nonetheless, when she was back, no one listened to her!
Julian always did something bad to Margaret, but why did Orlenna never ask about this?
Orlenna gave Margaret another glare and said angrily, "What nonsense are you talking about? No woman will drive her son-in-law out. I am not so shameless as you."
"Mother, I’m your daughter. Everything pales when compared with me."
Orlenna raked Margaret fore and aft and gave her a frustrating answer. "You are my daughter while Julian is my son-in-law. Of course, I should be nice to him.
"Hurry up and go upstairs. Tell your brother and Lilian to come down. Julian is here. What are they doing?"
Margaret was pushed to the stairs. She turned around and gave Julian, who was sitting in the living room, a glare.
Perhaps driven by telepathy, he looked up her in the eye as he received the coffee from the servant.
Then, he looked away with a half-smile.
Under Margaret’s glare, he politely talked with Orlenna.
Margaret shuddered. This man was too phony.
In the room upstairs, the air was hot and Hilla was pinned under Bruce. The bright sunlight outside the window poured into the room through the white gauze curtain, illuminating everything in the room.
When having sex with Bruce, Hilla grabbed his arm and said, "Give me the card." She sacrificed more than enough for Margaret.
Bruce was overwhelmed by sex and his pupils dilated because of the physical pleasure. He had a huge desire for her.
He took out a card from the bedside drawer. Before he could speak, Hilla snatched it and pushed him away from her body and then out of the bed.
When she got the card, her eyes lit up. She ignored him and put it into another envelope with a satisfied smile.
"Margaret must be pleased with them!"
Moreover, apart from Hilla and Bruce, Orlenna would give money to her as well, so Margaret must be very happy today.
Bruce hugged Hilla from behind. Before she could speak, he threw the envelopes to the ground.
"No rush. We have given her a lot of money."
Then, he kissed her right on the mouth and the air in the room was burning with passion.
"Bruce, I’m back."
Margaret knocked on the door but did not hear any noise from the inside. She didn’t give up. "Open the door. Your mother is waiting for you downstairs to chat."
The door opened and Bruce appeared with all his clothes on. He glanced at her and said, "What did you just say?"
Margaret quivered, and then a wide and sweet smile appeared on her face. She plunged into his arms and rubbed her head against him.
She raised her voice and said, "Bruce, I haven’t seen you for three days. I miss you so much."
As expected, no sooner had she finished speaking than Bruce pushed her head away and pushed her out of his embrace.
After readjusting his coat, he said, "You are as hypocritical as before." After that, he went downstairs arrogantly.
Margaret stared at his back and rolled her eyes, saying with disdain, "You’re a stone-cold man!"
Inside the room, Hilla was trying to stretch her sore arm. Hearing the noise outside
the door, she quickly shrank back into the quilt.
"Hilla, I’m back!"
Margaret poked her head in through the door and saw Hilla. Nevertheless, before Margaret could get excited, she fixed her eyes on the two envelopes on the ground.
Looking at the envelopes, Hilla pursed her lips and said, "I just got them from your brother at a huge cost."
Margaret quickly picked up the envelopes and put them into her arms. She sat by the bed and looked at Hilla, saying in a distressed voice, "Good job!"
