Chapter 351: Wait for Me Until I Come Back to You!

Chapter 351: Wait for Me Until I Come Back to You!

...

Lori stared blankly at Hilla and unconsciously wrung her hands.

Hilla in front of her was confident and beautiful. Lori did not see a trace of unhappiness on her face.

Lori bit her lip. Her eyes were quite red. She was so frustrated that she felt as if she were to vomit a mouthful of blood.

Hilla had confidence in Bruce, whom she had spent time with.

But this confidence also made what Lori had done a joke. Lori’s feelings were hurt.

"I, I do not believe it."

After a while, Lori opened her mouth and spoke slowly.

Lori sat quietly on the sofa, her thumbnails unconsciously digging into her index fingers.

But she didn’t seem to feel any pain and was still sitting upright.

She raised her head to meet Hilla’s gaze, smiled, tears streaming from her eyes, and said, "You were lying for the sake of your marriage, right? If you don’t care about what happened last night, why did you lie to me? You are denying the truth because you don’t want to argue with him. You are afraid..."

"Afraid of what? A divorce?"

Hilla had mixed feelings.

Lori was biting her lip and pretending to be strong. It reminded Hilla of her past.

But Hilla hated Lori’s self-deception.

"The Andersons have rescued me when I was in trouble. They have been very nice to me. I regard them as my families and we have become a real family,"

Hilla said calmly as if she were telling someone else’s story.

She was not moved at all by Lori’s pitiful look.

If she showed mercy to others, she would suffer. Hilla didn’t want to suffer.

"I know Bruce. Even if he came out of that room or the scene I saw last night was even worse, I believe him."

"You are just afraid that he will divorce you and you will be kicked out from the Anderson family."

Lori put on a sarcastic smile. She trembled with excitement.

Lori thought, ’Hilla said that the man last night was not Bruce because she doesn’t want to divorce Bruce or give up the wealthy life as an Anderson.

’She’s selfish and realistic. She just doesn’t want to lose what she has now. That was why she’s denying the truth last night, saying that I have slept with another man.

’I could not have been with another man because when I woke up, I only saw Bruce.’

"If Bruce divorces me, will he marry you?"

Hilla interrupted Lori coldly. Lori felt hurt by the coldness in Hilla’s eyes.

"I’m not denying the truth but you are deceiving yourself! I think you know clearly what I said today is true. Anyway, I will ask Alexa to bring you new clothes. This is my house. After the meal, I will send you back, whether you like it or not. Ms. Gilmore, behave yourself."

Hilla got up and was about to leave. There was no need to continue talking with a self-deceiving person.

"Hilla, you are a liar! You dare not admit that I was with him last night! You are afraid! You are afraid of me."

Lori’s voice came from behind.

Hilla didn’t turn around. She knew how furious Lori was now.

People tended to deny the reality that they found hard to accept. It was the case for Lori because she had been expecting to be with Bruce.

Hilla sympathized with her, but would not let her cause any more trouble.

Being pitiful wouldn’t make people more righteous.

"Hilla, come back! Why don’t you let me see him? Aren’t you afraid that I would take everything from you? You are afraid of me!"

Lori rushed over to catch Hilla, but the next second, she fell to the ground.

Alexa went forward and asked in a low voice, "Ms. Gilmore, are you okay?"

Lori pushed Alexa away, and shouted hysterically, "Don’t kid me! How can she slander me? How dare she do that to me?"

"Ms. Gilmore..."

"Hilla must have been jealous of me. I have slept with Bruce. She’s afraid of getting divorced and being down to nothing. If it hasn’t been for the Anderson family, she would be living a miserable life now!"

Lori’s roar frightened Alexa beside her.

She had never seen a mistress who was so bold.

She now saw the complicated love relationships among rich people.

Downstairs, Bruce saw Hilla come out. She looked unhappy and remained silent. He asked tentatively, "What happened? Doesn’t she believe it? Leave this matter to me."

"What? Do you want to get entangled with her? Did you deliberately enter the room last night?"

Bruce looked at the fierce woman in front of him and was speechless. After a while, he smiled and said, "You are so fierce when you are jealous."

How could he say that she was fierce?

Hilla glared at Bruce. She had been afraid that Bruce would be ruthless, using every method to get rid of Lori. That was why she had gone to see Lori.

She had thought that Lori was pitiful because life had never been easy for a child that grew up in an orphanage.

Although Hilla had been living a life of luxury since she was a child, she knew the sufferings of the humble people. But Hilla hadn’t expected that Lori would be so stubborn that she was making a false accusation.

Looking at the culprit, Bruce who said innocently, Hilla couldn’t help taking it out on him.

"Lori said that I was afraid that you would divorce me, so I lied to her. She was sure that the person whom she slept with last night was you."

Hilla gradually calmed down and felt that it didn’t matter to her.

It was understandable that Lori had thought this way. One would rather the person who raped her be the one she liked.

Ultimately, it was Fred’s fault. She felt that she should have beaten Fred more badly as she thought about it.

Bruce quietly started the car. When he drove out of the community, he said calmly, "Whether it was me or not, she knows very well."

If Lori insisted, he did not mind teaching her a lesson. He would not let others get away with their faults just because they were women.

Hilla frowned, looked at Bruce curiously, and asked, "Lori is pretty. Didn’t you get turned on by her naked body?"

Bruce turned his head and suddenly smiled. "If I get turned on by any naked body, it would be too frequent."

Hilla understood what he meant. Many women had tried to seduce him!

...

"I’m not a playboy, so I won’t easily lust after other naked women."

Bruce said with a grin. Seeing this, Hilla got serious and said coldly, "You can’t lust after anyone but me."

He was forbidden from salivating at any other woman, and neither could he stare at a naked one.

Bruce raised an eyebrow and replied, "Okay."

He didn’t have any bad ideas. The room was too dark. He drank too much wine and was too tired, so he was assisted into the room.

As for how he went to the room, Fred must know the answer.

"Let’s go home. I’m sleepy."

Hilla rubbed between her eyebrows. It had been a whole night and she couldn’t sleep well in the car.

Moreover, she was not at home for the whole night, so she missed her children very much.

Bruce agreed and drove the car out of the community, heading straight for the Anderson’s mansion.

When Hilla had just returned home, Orlenna was talking with Margaret on the phone in an impatient tone.

"Margaret, are you crazy? You have just got married for a night. You have to wait three days to come back.

"There’s no alternative. If you disobey or cause trouble for me, I will break your legs and imprison you in the Jorgansen’s.

"Do you want your legs or freedom? It’s up to you."

Orlenna hung up the phone. She frowned and stared at the phone. Margaret always caused trouble. She was married, but why could she not abide by the rules and behave herself?

Seeing this, Hilla asked, "What did Margaret say? Is she bored in the hotel alone?" Hilla thought that she should go and see Margaret.

After all, it was the first day after Margaret left home, so she must be annoyed and homesick.

The marriage always made a huge difference in a woman’s attitude and emotions.

Hilla wanted to go upstairs to get some clothes, but Orlenna stopped her.

"She is not bored at all. I think she gets too much free time. As a married woman, she can’t go out at will anymore."

Margaret was not a well-behaved woman. Before she got married, she went out everywhere once she had money. She even claimed that she should travel around the world in her prime, which kept worrying Orlenna.

If something went wrong when Margaret was out, she wouldn’t be able to handle it.

Thus, Orlenna always wanted Margaret to get married. Nevertheless, Margaret was obsessive about going out. If she went out at will like before, Orlenna would remain in a state of anxiety.

"But Margaret is alone in the hotel."

Hilla was a little worried. ’Margaret has been very dissatisfied with this marriage. What happened last night? What if Julian left her alone?’

"She is not alone. Julian is there. She hates it if he follows her. And she even wants to dump him and come back. She must have a brainstorm."

Anyhow, Orlenna was relieved that Julian would watch and take care of Margaret from now on.

"Well, you just came back, so you must be tired. Go back to your room and take a shower to rest. I’ll take them out to play in the sun."

Then, Orlenna asked the servant to take the children out the door.

Bruce went to the company after driving Hilla back. When Hilla returned to her room, she received a call from Halle.

"Have you talked to Lori? Can she get over it?"

Halle was haunted by what she had seen last night, so she was up all night after returning home.

Only when dawn broke did she sleep for a while. Horton drove Emily to the kindergarten. When she woke up, she was still worried about Hilla.

"Halle, it’s nothing about us. Although Lori was the victim, I’m not the one who hurt her."

Even though Hilla said so, Halle was not relieved.

Lori had a huge crush on Bruce. Any woman who was raped would instinctively hide from the truth.

What was worse, if she had a choice, she would rather believe that the rapist was an excellent man, who did it on impulse, rather than the man she least wanted to see.

"I’ve asked a hotel worker to send her back to her apartment. Probably we won’t meet again in the future."

Hilla’s voice was a little uncertain, and she hoped that she would not meet Lori again.

She had made her point. If Lori stopped being obsessive, it wouldn’t turn disastrous. "What did Bruce say?"

Halle didn’t believe what Hilla said. Lori was a girl. After she was raped, no one comforted her, not to mention that Bruce would have apathy to her.

Nobody would accept such change.

"Bruce?"

Hilla was surprised that Halle should ask about Bruce’s attitude. However, Bruce was the main protagonist of this matter. Thinking of this, Hilla said, "He told me he didn’t do anything to Lori, but..."

"He was telling the truth, but Lori refused to believe it, right?"

Halle interrupted Hilla and guessed what Hilla would say.

Halle was sure at a glance that Bruce had not done anything to Lori. If he had slept with Lori, he wouldn’t have left the room in a hurry. Instead, he would have tried to cover it in the room.

Moreover, with Bruce’s status and identity, he wouldn’t like Lori.

He was attractive to various women, many of whom were better than Hilla.

Therefore, it made no sense for him to sleep with Lori.

Both of them looked too strange at that time, so Halle didn’t figure out what was going on. After she returned home and thought about it carefully, she saw sense.

Thus, they might well be victims of a trick.

As a grown man, Bruce would think nothing of it even if he was wronged. However, Halle was worried about Hilla.

Hilla must be very angry.

"Halle, how did you know about this?"

Hilla was amazed at Halle’s foresight, but on second thoughts, she found it was reasonable.

"If you explain it with the truth to Lori, she won’t easily buy it. But I’m afraid that Bruce and you will..."

"We’re fine. I didn’t misunderstand or fight with him."

Halle heaved a sigh of relief. She was just about to say something when the door opened. Then, she was slightly startled at the man standing outside the door.

"Halle, what’s wrong?"

Halle did not respond, so Hilla couldn’t help but ask.

Halle flushed as Horton walked to her. She whispered, "It’s nothing. Horton is back."

He should have taken Emily to the hospital, so she was a little surprised to see him. "Okay. Halle, I’m fine. You don’t have to worry about me."

Halle responded and didn’t continue to chat with Hilla. After speaking a few further words, she hung up the phone in a hurry.

She did not tell what she had seen last night to Horton after she came back. "Why are you back at this time? What happened?"

Scarcely had Halle finished speaking when she was pulled into Horton’s arms. Before she could speak, Horton said in a deep voice, "I can’t bear to leave you ... and Emily.

"Halle, wait for me until I come back to you!"

Halle frowned slightly and wondered, ’Is he going to leave?’
