Chapter 343: She Wants To Be a Widow
Chapter 343: She Wants To Be a Widow
"Alright, Julian is about to go upstairs. Why are you still here?"
Riya pulled Margaret aside and helped smooth down the wedding dress.
As the bridesmaid, Riya had to stay by Margaret’s side before going to the hotel.
Before Hilla could correct Margaret, Hilla was called out by Orlenna.
The guests gathered downstairs. From the garden to the long corridor was in a festive mood. Only the bride, Margaret, looked glum. She was pulled to the bed and was asked to sit down demurely.
"Halle, quickly lock the door. Riya, you go too. No matter what they say, don’t open the door later."
Riya’s eyes lit up and then she said happily, "OK, it’s the best time to ask for money."
Margaret was stunned. That was right. She was going to marry into the Jorgansen’s, but all the money and gifts were taken away by Orlenna. Wouldn’t she be very poor?
"Yes, if there is no money, you can’t open the door."
It was a chance for Margaret to make some money. After that, she would be rich.
Margaret stood up and rushed to lock the door, successfully locking Julian out.
Money was pushed under the door one by one. Noticing this, Margaret grinned and thought that she was rich!
Riya rolled her eyes and whispered to Halle, "It’s the first time I’ve seen a bride do this. What does she mean? Is she afraid that we’ll take Julian’s money?"
Riya looked down on Margaret for helping Julian today.
Halle looked at Margaret who was still asking for money and forced a smile, "Margaret probably doesn’t mean that!"
Halle thought Margaret probably just wanted money.
The people outside pushed a lot of money under the door and waited for a long time, but the door did not open. Therefore, the group of people was growing restless.
Margaret was still happily picking up the money. There was so much money that she could no longer hold them in her arms. However, she didn’t give up but said, "Mr. Jorgansen, you aren’t so stingy. Only this money can’t marry such a beautiful and gentle bride."
She was such an exquisite girl, so she would not give up so easily. "Margaret, are you crazy? What time is it? Hurry up and open the door."
Orlenna’s stern voice came from outside the door. Margaret’s hands trembled, and then all the money fell to the ground.
Noticing this, Halle quickly put away the money and ran to open the door.
When Orlenna came in angrily, Margaret was immediately frightened and sat on the bed obediently.
Margaret was no longer bold but appeared to be cordial and decent.
Orlenna glanced at Margaret, and then she looked at the tall and proper Julian beside her and said gently, "Take her away!"
Margaret thought, "Am I stuff?"
"Mom, don’t we still have many procedures? I haven’t worn my shoes yet."
Margaret winked at Orlenna and thought, "Shouldn’t we cause troubles to Julian now?"
Orlenna knew what Margaret was thinking, so she glared at Margaret angrily, "Do you know what the time it is? Do you still want to get married in a hotel? So many people are waiting there. If you don’t wear shoes, you’ll walk barefoot."
Margaret had thrown her shoes downstairs. Anyway, she wouldn’t leave so quickly even if she was beaten today.
Orlenna didn’t want to reason with Margaret now.
Riya laughed and teased, "It’s not good if the bride steps on the ground today. Mr. Jorgansen, please carry Margaret into the car."
The courtyard was big. And Margaret lived on the third floor. Therefore, it would take a lot of effort for Julian to carry Margaret to the car.
A frail man would probably be exhausted by the time they got downstairs.
Margaret’s eyes lit up. She happily stretched out her arms towards Julian and called out coquettishly, "Honey, thank you. Hug!"
Orlenna thought that a grown girl could not be kept at home!
Hilla felt gooseflesh all over and looked at Julian with pity.
Margaret noticed their "eye contact" and suddenly put on a serious face, "Don’t you want to marry me?"
Riya pursed her lips and thought, "Margaret, you have just said that you dislike Julian and want to escape. But now, it seems that if Julian does not marry you, you will rush over and beat him."
"It is hard to walk on the stairs. It’s better to go downstairs and then ask him to carry you to the car."
Halle was also a little worried. There were so many people, so safety was a matter of prime importance.
However, Margaret said unhappily, "Other’s husband is strong and loves his bride. He even wants to hold his bride in his hands. However, the man I’ll marry can’t even
carry me down the stairs. So frail."
Hilla pulled Margaret and thought it wasn’t good to look down on Julian. Moreover, Julian was indeed very good, but the road was too long.
Hilla wanted to persuade Margaret, but Margaret glared at her. "If you don’t carry me downstairs today, I won’t get married." Margaret was so capricious even now. Hilla was worried about Margaret.
Orlenna said angrily, "Margaret, what are you doing? Hurry up! Put on your shoes and leave."
Someone brought over a new pair of high heels.
"Since I want to marry her, I should carry her to the car."
Julian handed the shoes to the person beside him and bent down to pick up Margaret.
Although Margaret was slender, she was tall and a little heavy. When she was suddenly picked up, she blushed.
So many people were looking at her, so Margaret was embarrassed!
Before Margaret could bury her head against Julian’s shoulder, his lips brushed softly across her ear, and then he whispered, "You are really fat."
Margaret could accept that she was heavy, but she couldn’t accept that one said that she was fat... Therefore, Margaret thought Julian had gone too far.
Was Julian blind?
Margaret thought she was so curvy and beautiful!
"Get in the car!"
With the hullabaloo, Margaret was surrounded by people and Julian carried her downstairs.
Julian’s arms were strong. Every step he took was very stable, but Margaret was very guilty.
Margaret doubted that Julian would take revenge on her because of what had just happened and would throw her on the ground halfway.
Therefore, Margaret put herself in Julian’s arms and her arms were wrapped more tightly around his neck.
Because she was too concentrated on Julian, all the noise around her was ignored by her. And she could only hear his heavy breathing and strong heartbeat.
Margaret could hear every beat of his heart, and then she gradually blushed...
...
The moment she was carried into the car, Margaret felt weird.
Looking at everything outside and Julian with a heavy breath beside her, Margaret unconsciously felt strange.
Was she getting married?
Orlenna was standing not far away and staring at her car. Margaret wanted to get out of the car and say something to her, but the car suddenly began to move off. Therefore, Margaret could only see Orlenna’s figure gradually getting farther and farther away.
It was the first time that Margaret had missed Orlenna so much that she even wanted to get out of the car and get scolded by her again.
Margaret once thought that getting married was like going out, and she could come back at any time. However, when the car drove away, she was flustered.
Margaret didn’t know what she was afraid of, but she suddenly felt very sad.
Therefore, when she watched Orlenna’s figure, tears rolled down her cheeks.
"If you want to come back, I can come back with you anytime."
Julian breathed quickly, gave her a tissue, and whispered.
Margaret pursed her lips and took the tissue. She carefully wiped off her tears and said defiantly, "This is my home, so I can come back whenever I want."
Margaret continued, a little defensively, "I don’t need your company."
"OK!"
Julian replied faintly and then fell silent. Margaret then looked up at him.
Today, Julian was wearing an exquisite black handmade suit, and his hair was neat and short.
He sat next to her, keeping a respectful distance from her. His lips compressed into a thin line, his gazes were cold and always fell on the road ahead.
When he didn’t speak, he looked cool and attractive.
However, when she realized that she was going to live under him, Margaret was bitter.
"Don’t think that you can do whatever you want just because I married you. You can’t skimp on my allowance and you have to buy me the latest fashion every quarter. I can’t lose face when I go out."
Julian kept a straight face and replied, "I’m also afraid of losing face." "What do you mean? Are you saying I’m a disgrace to you?" Margaret turned to glare fiercely at Julian with a pair of teary eyes.
Julian ignored her and said, "Don’t worry. Your dowry is enough for you to squander."
Margaret was stunned and looked at him with doubt.
What did he mean? Did Orlenna and Bruce prepare the dowry for her?
Margaret thought she was indeed the child of the Andersons, so she couldn’t be a poor young lady.
"How can my dowry be owned by you?"
Margaret suddenly reacted. Shouldn’t Orlenna give that to her?
Julian calmly looked at her and said slowly, "Mom said she believes me!"
What did he mean?
Orlenna did not believe Margaret but believed Julian. Margaret thought Orlenna must be crazy!
"Give my dowry back."
If he dared to say no, she would pounce on him and bite him.
"Mom asked me to pay you a monthly living expense and that..."
"And what?"
Julian said slowly, "She said that if you have too much money, you will run away. And if you ran away after the wedding, wouldn’t I lose face?"
So...he just wanted to protect his reputation.
Margaret muttered, "Is Orlenna my mother?"
She was very ashamed of Orlenna’s behavior.
However, Julian did not care at all. Instead, he said with satisfaction, "Mom did it for me because of you... I understand her. She is also worried about me."
"You are shameless. How can you call her Mom? Don’t you have a mom?"
Julian suddenly leaned over and smiled, "Haven’t you met her before? Do you miss her?"
Didn’t he know mother-in-law and daughter-in-law were enemies?
The wedding ceremony was held in the most prosperous outdoor hotel in River City. The hotel was located halfway up the peak and faced the ocean. And the lobby was like a large and gorgeous aquarium.
Riya looked at the swimming pool and rolled her eyes. And then she pulled Halle and said, "Is Margaret crazy? I have heard of someone holding a party at a swimming pool, but I have never seen anyone get married in a swimming pool. Does she regard herself as a mermaid?"
Halle shook her head and said, "I don’t know either. Margaret chose the hotel."
Hilla sighed and said, "Margaret said that the hotel is great for her.
"And ... if she is unhappy, she plans to push Julian into the pool and drown him."
Riya was surprised. "Margaret is crazy. She wants to be a widow at a young age."
Hilla thought it was probably what Margaret thought.
Halle smiled and comforted, "Don’t worry. Julian is not only an international champion boxer, but he was on the swimming team in middle school and was almost selected to the national swimming team. Margaret can’t drown him."
Riya held back her laughter and said, "I’m afraid Margaret doesn’t know about this."
Hilla nodded, "Margaret thought that Julian can’t swim."
As for how Margaret "knew" this wrong information, Hilla did not know.
The wedding has come relatively smoothly so far. It was not until Margaret and Julian exchanged rings that Hilla felt relieved.
Fortunately, Margaret was more sensible now. Otherwise, she would cause some trouble.
After Margaret put the ring on Julian’s figure, the host said, "Now the groom can kiss your beautiful bride."
Margaret curled her lips with dissatisfaction. When she found Julian was slowly leaning over, she said angrily, "If you dare to kiss me, you will be toast."
Julian chuckled. A cunning look came into his eyes. Before Margaret could dodge, he grabbed her waist and put her into his embrace.
And then he kissed her on the mouth.
There was thunderous applause from below the stage, drowning Julian’s groan.
When the magnum lights shined on Julian and Margaret, one could capture the most beautiful images.
Riya sighed, "Margaret looks beautiful. It seems that it is pretty good to get married."
Julian and Margaret looked amazing together!
However, when she saw the blood at the corner of Julian’s mouth, Riya immediately gasped in astonishment.
"God. Do they have to kiss so hard?"
Hilla suddenly became alert again. Well, she knew that Margaret couldn’t give up so easily.
Julian wiped off the blood. His gaze fell on Margaret’s triumphant face, and then he gave a sly grin.
"How dare you bite me? Well, I will deal with you at night!" Julian thought.
