Knowing Wayne Jennings was beaten, June Kane was actually pleased. That beast Wayne Jennings even dared to lay a hand on Felicity!

In front of the Dowager Kane, June dared not show her inner joy.

She had expected the Dowager would force Serena Sullivan to marry into the Ford Family for Wayne Jennings’ sake.

As it turned out, the Ford Family let Ethan Grant go, and after Serena was discharged from the hospital, she continued her peaceful and tranquil life.

Unreconciled! Especially when she thought of Mr. Sterling growing colder towards her upon his return, she was terrified! She was flustered!

The Dowager Kane snorted coldly, looking at her daughter with irony, "It’s still because your in-laws are formidable."

It’s not that the Sterling Family is formidable; Wayne Jennings was at fault first, ended up in jail, and with Ethan Grant on the other side, how could there be any manipulation behind the scenes?

"Mom! It’s my fault for being useless."

June admitted softly, the Dowager found her attitude pleasing, thought of another matter, and smiled, "Tonight, the Sterling Family invited Ethan Grant for dinner, and yet you have time to come to me?"

"Invited Ethan Grant?"

June was surprised; she hadn’t heard Simon Sterling mention this, nor had she received any calls from other members of the Sterling Family.

"Haha!" Seeing June’s reaction, the Dowager Kane laughed mockingly, "Seems like you’ve wasted all those years at the Sterling Family."

"Before Serena Sullivan came, you were Mrs. Sterling. Who knew that woman from Solaria arrived, and now you’re worried about being kicked out!"

"Mom, what do you mean by that?" June asked urgently.

"Claire Sullivan has arrived at the Imperial Capital."

The Dowager Kane spoke slowly; she had also just received the news today.

"Impossible!" June’s voice immediately rose; Simon Sterling once swore never to have any relations with Claire Sullivan nor let her step into the Imperial Capital.

"Ha!" The Dowager Kane laughed mockingly, "June, you are truly foolish!"

"The Sterling Family invited Ethan Grant for dinner to settle Serena’s marriage, while Claire Sullivan arrived at the Imperial Capital."

"I reckon it won’t be long before you and Felicity will be kicked out of the Sterling Family."

These words were somewhat an attempt to sow discord between June and the Sterling Family. The Dowager Kane didn’t care if June felt upset; she was determined to stir trouble for the Sterling Family through the events surrounding Serena and Ethan Grant.

"You are Simon Sterling’s wife, the rightful Mrs. Sterling. The Sterling Family invited Mr. Grant for dinner, yet didn’t inform you."

"I think it won’t be long before there is a celebration at the Sterling Family, while your daughter Felicity becomes the laughingstock of other families. Who knows, soon Felicity’s ancestry might be unearthed and widely discussed!"

The Dowager Kane spoke calmly, leaving June’s face pale.

"No way!"

June stood dumbfounded, saying, "Who dares to discuss our Ford Family!"

Despite her words, June actually felt uncertain inside.

"Simon Sterling wouldn’t do that, unless he wants to bring Claire Sullivan back in."

"Back then, we reconciled with Simon Sterling, cleared Claire Sullivan’s reputation. Do you think if the events of twenty years ago are brought up again, you and they, who would be more afraid?"

"June." The Dowager Kane sat up, took the teacup handed by a servant, sipped it, and glanced at June.

"If you had a child with Simon, you wouldn’t be so passive today."

She observed June’s expression; though the events of twenty years ago had long passed, those in the know were silenced by the Ford Family, and as the main party involved, June had no way to forget.

Unable to have a child with Simon was not only because Simon had no interest but also due to her psychological shadow.
