Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride

Chapter 1119 - 1115: Blind Date

Chapter 1119 - 1115: Blind Date

Evander Lancaster reluctantly got out of bed. After freshening up, he casually threw on a pair of casual pants and a jacket. Standing in front of the mirror, he couldn’t help but marvel at himself. What could he do? With such a good foundation, he looked handsome without even trying!Walking out of the apartment building, he drove to the arranged date location in his car. It wasn’t an overly luxury car, just a Bentley worth a few hundred thousand.

Of course, that was compared to his three brothers.

Actually, this was also where Evander Lancaster was low-key. He owned a hospital, and even without calculating his annual income, he held a substantial amount of shares in his family’s company.

The Lancaster Family in the east side of the city was like a wealthy family in the old society, with a private residential area comparable to a luxurious neighborhood in the city.

Born into such a family background, even if he became a rich second-generation idler, the company’s annual dividends alone would be impossible to squander.

When Evander Lancaster walked into the restaurant, his mother, Violet Zimmerman, frowned disapprovingly. A date was such an important event, and everyone would dress up for it. Yet her son was in nothing but a casual jacket. Although he was good-looking, even the best appearance needed to be complemented by clothing!

Violet Zimmerman was displeased, but couldn’t say anything in front of others. Evander Lancaster gentlemanly nodded slightly, "Sorry for being late." After saying that, he sat down in the empty seat next to his mother.

Valeria Howard politely smiled, her eyes glued to Evander Lancaster ever since he appeared, "It’s okay. Auntie said you worked overtime last night, must have been exhausting,"

Evander Lancaster gave a polite smile. Beside him, Violet Zimmerman grasped her son’s arm and said, "Evander, let me introduce you. This is Miss Valeria, daughter of Director Wu of Qiyuan Biopharmaceutical Company, engaged in biopharmaceutical research. Since you studied medicine, you’re considered peers."

"Miss Valeria, how are you," Evander Lancaster nodded politely again. Valeria Howard, with poise, said, "Just call me Valeria."

Violet Zimmerman then introduced her son to Valeria Howard, "Valeria, this is my son, Evander. He’s a doctor; hope you don’t mind his profession."

"Auntie, you must be joking. Evander is a stand-up guy; I’m worried he might not fancy me," Valeria Howard’s gaze openly rested on Evander Lancaster, and there was no shyness in her demeanor despite her words.

Evander Lancaster didn’t say anything. He leaned back in the chair, his hands interlaced, maintaining a polite smile on his handsome face.

After making introductions, Violet Zimmerman stood up, placed a hand on her son’s shoulder and said, "Evander, entertain Valeria well for me. I have a meeting to attend, so I’ll head off first."

"Auntie, please go ahead," Valeria Howard said politely. Evander Lancaster also nodded with a smile, watching his mother leave.

Rushed by his mother’s call to the date, Evander came right after getting out of bed, not having time to eat. Now, seeing the exquisite dishes on the dining table, he picked up his chopsticks without hesitation and asked the woman across, who was still seeing his mother off, "Miss Valeria, have you had lunch yet?"

"Huh? Not yet," Evander’s sudden change of topic left Valeria Howard momentarily stunned. Realizing she was a bit out of composure, she pretended to tuck the long hair behind her ear and then picked up her chopsticks.

"Let’s eat, then. I haven’t eaten either." Evander courteously offered, taking some food and slowly eating, but his eyes were casually fixed on Valeria Howard, revealing slight derision.

"Auntie said you studied medicine. Which university did you attend?" Valeria Howard initiated the conversation. She had seen Evander Lancaster’s photo before the date, and meeting him today showed he was even more handsome than in the pictures.

Evander Lancaster belonged to those men whose good looks were not intimidating. Despite dressing casually, perhaps due to his profession, he exuded an extraordinary aura.

"Nothing prestigious, just an ordinary domestic medical school."

Evander said modestly, and they continued chatting while eating.

"Oh, what field did you study, internal medicine or surgery?"

Hearing Valeria Howard’s question, Evander Lancaster raised an eyebrow with a bit of amusement in his eyes, "Didn’t my mom tell you?"

Valeria Howard shook her head, "Actually, I’m not that familiar with your aunt. We met through a family friend."

Evander Lancaster nodded instinctively, thinking that things would be easier if she wasn’t familiar with his mother.

He put down his chopsticks, sighed, and began admiring his fingers, "Speaking of which, my profession is quite unique."

Valeria Howard paused, looking at Evander Lancaster’s long fingers and asked puzzled, "What does that have to do with your hands?"

Evander Lancaster smiled mysteriously, "Of course it has something to do with my hands!"

He leaned slightly over the dining table, his fair skin noticeable from working indoors as a medical professional.

"Let me say that my profession serves women greatly. These hands of mine," Evander Lancaster leaned back, raised his hands again, and admired them proudly, "have alleviated the pain for countless women."

"You are..."

Valeria Howard hesitated, with a growing bad premonition in her heart. Could it be...

While she was still doubting, Evander Lancaster smiled and said, "To be honest, I find it a bit hard to say. When choosing my major, I wasn’t interested in any specialty as a big guy, but I took a particular liking to gynecology."

Valeria Howard...

In place of words, she swallowed her saliva subconsciously, realizing she guessed right. She didn’t mean to discriminate against his profession, but——

Thinking about a big guy spending his days examining women was... a bit eccentric.

As if not noticing Valeria Howard’s aversion, Evander Lancaster continued admiring his beautiful fingers, chattering non-stop, "I must say the profession suits me well. Over the years, I’ve cured many women’s hidden ailments like... cervical erosion, uterine fibroids..."

Deliberately talking about those disturbing cases, across from him, Valeria Howard covered her mouth to swallow back the discomfort. She slightly bowed to Evander and politely said,

"Sorry, I just remembered I have to host a client," she grabbed her purse and left in a hurry.

Evander Lancaster...

Watched the panicked figure leave, reclined in his chair with a smirk of satisfaction at the corners of his mouth.

Over the years, pushed by his mother into countless blind dates, he always hoped the other party would not take a liking to him and refuse him. But his striking looks proved challenging, so he had to resort to extraordinary means to make those women voluntarily back off.

Retracting his gaze, he raised his arm to call the restaurant server, "Could you add another bowl of rice, please?"

Coming out of the restaurant, Evander Lancaster just got into the driver’s seat when the phone in his jacket pocket rang. Without looking, he knew who it was calling.
