Chapter 1118 - 1114: Brothers Reunited
Chapter 1118 - 1114: Brothers Reunited
The two couples flew to Saipan for a vacation together. Mia Foster only went along reluctantly because Felix Shaw persistently persuaded her.Her own husband had been with another woman. Although it wasn’t intentional, it was a fact, and no matter how much Mia Foster tried to convince herself, she couldn’t get over it.
On Saipan, Nathan Moore and Titus Zane strolled along the beach, facing the sea breeze. From afar, they saw two couples walking towards them and soon heard Sophie Foster’s warm call, "Sister Zane, we’re here to keep you company..."
Nathan’s heart didn’t feel any joy at all; instead, he found it quite annoying. He was out with his wife to make up for their honeymoon, but these two oblivious friends!
When they got closer, he had no choice but to smile and greet them. Upon seeing Titus Zane, Sophie grabbed her hand, jumping and spinning around, until Nicholas Croft stopped her.
"Lara, be careful, don’t hurt the baby!"
"Lara, you..." Titus Zane was both surprised and curious. Even though Nicholas Croft had made a high-profile announcement on his public account, she wasn’t very interested in entertainment news and didn’t know Sophie was expecting. And...
"Hmm, I’ve already forgiven Uncle Croft, and we have a baby now," Sophie admitted with a smile. Titus Zane was happy for them too. After all, lovers finally getting together is a joyous thing. You could say... perhaps she was something of a matchmaker for them.
While the two women caught up, Nathan Moore occasionally glanced at Sophie’s still-flat belly. Twenty-something-year-olds already had babies; his woman, however, didn’t. It seemed they needed more practice for a higher hit rate.
Mia Foster had no desire to chat with anyone, finding an excuse to say she was tired and headed back to their rented house to rest.
Felix Shaw obediently followed her back. Ever since that incident, he had been entirely subservient to Mia Foster. Once back in the cabin, he busied himself making the bed and running a bath, attending to Mia’s needs without any complaint.
In the evening, the three couples had dinner together, chatted for a while, and then returned to their rooms to rest.
Along the beach, in the same style of separate buildings, there was both joy and sorrow.
Nathan Moore wanted a baby of his own, so after returning to their house, he started passionately teasing Titus Zane in bed.
In the house next door, Nicholas Croft occasionally kissed his young wife on the forehead but did nothing more.
The risky period was not over yet, so for their baby’s sake, he could only endure.
In Felix Shaw and Mia Foster’s room, after Mia showered, Felix also went into the bathroom, staying there for a full hour before coming out and lying on the bed.
"Cuddling my wife to sleep!" Felix Shaw pulled Mia Foster into his arms. Nowadays, being able to sleep while holding Mia was a luxury for him.
"What’s that smell?" As soon as Felix got close, Mia Foster smelled something pungent, very familiar, a bit like...
"Oh, I just put some bleach in the bathwater, honey. Don’t worry, I soaked for a long time and got super clean,"
Hearing Felix Shaw say this made Mia’s nose a little sour. Ever since the incident with Elizabeth White blew up, she hadn’t let him touch her.
She knew she was being a bit overly sensitive. After all, he had been with Elizabeth before too. Yet still, she couldn’t get over it!
Not wanting Felix Shaw to notice her odd mood, Mia Foster pulled away from his embrace, deliberately saying impatiently, "Keep your distance. It’s so hot."
"How could it be? I’ve set the air conditioning to the lowest." Felix went over again, seemingly worried Mia would reject him, hurriedly saying, "I’ll just hold you to sleep, alright...?"
Not hearing Mia’s reply, he added, "I really washed very clean this time, used more than half a bottle of bleach,"
"Shut up!"
Felix Shaw’s words were cut off by Mia Foster’s displeased scolding, not because he was being verbose, but because... her heart ached.
To please her, Felix always used disinfectant in the bathtub, and over time, his skin developed wrinkles, sometimes even rashes... Felix’s actions really pained her, but she was genuinely conflicted.
"Honey~" Felix cooed, pressing his handsome face against the back of Mia’s neck, wrapping a large hand around her waist, and saying, like a child wronged, "It’s been so long, how are you still not over it? Didn’t you also get Elizabeth in trouble..."
"Hmph, letting her rot in prison is too easy for her!" Mia Foster sneered disdainfully. Thinking about it now, if she hadn’t held Elizabeth legally accountable, she’d likely be tied up and sent back to Macau to be a debt slave!
Felix Shaw let out a long sigh, "Mia, let’s not talk about her. It’s disgusting. It’s getting late, let’s sleep. Tomorrow we can rent a speedboat to the sea for fun."
Felix rubbed his handsome face against the back of Mia’s neck, then closed his eyes. Mia didn’t say anything more and shut her eyes to sleep.
Half-awake, she felt the breath on her neck gradually growing warmer, and the breathing in her ears becoming heavier. The big hand grabbing her kept tightening — it was the man behind her unable to keep still.
Mia Foster opened her eyes and glanced back, saying displeased, "Felix Shaw, do you want to sleep on the couch?"
Felix Shaw...
He let out a deep sigh, released her hand, and mumbled to himself, "The weather’s really hot, I’ll go take another bath,"
Lying on the bed, watching Felix Shaw’s back as he walked into the bathroom, Mia Foster tightly pressed her lips.
...
All the brothers went on vacation to Saipan, leaving Evander Lancaster alone in T City, sticking to his work schedule. As the dean and a chief surgeon, he sometimes spent several days living at the hospital when things got busy.
Saturday, after a week of hard work, he wanted to take a day off, lying in bed with the curtains drawn tight, savoring the rare opportunity to wake up naturally.
Stretching out his arms to pick up the phone on the bedside cabinet, just as he did, the ringtone went off.
It was a call from his mother, Violet Zimmerman. Evander hesitated for a moment before answering while still lying in bed.
"Mom, what’s so urgent in the morning?"
"It’s already late morning and you’re talking about early?" Violet Zimmerman’s voice came through the receiver, with a hint of reproach. "Didn’t you promise to go on a blind date yesterday? It’s almost eleven now, why aren’t you there yet?"
Speaking of blind dates gave Evander a headache. He reluctantly said, "Mom, can’t you just let me sleep in for once on my day off?"
"No!" Violet answered firmly and, as she spoke, secretly glanced at the girl opposite her, covering the phone with her hand to say seriously, "Hurry up and come over, Jia Hua and I are waiting at the restaurant!"
With that, she hung up, not giving her son a chance to decline.
