Mist Empire’s Rise: Fake Noble to Fog Queen

Chapter 349 347: The Kingdom of Time

Chapter 349 347: The Kingdom of Time

After figuring this out, the dark elf's tone became almost excited. "My Lord, I'm willing to follow you to the Western Plains!"

There was only one elf in the Misty Plains. His faith to the divine lord was like a drop of water in the ocean—nearly nothing.

Though the divine lord was a nature god, faith offerings could help K grow faster. Clearly the Western Plains was better suited for the divine lord to gather faith.

The dark elf asked Luo Wei earnestly, "My Lord, when do we leave for the Western Plains?"

He wanted to help the divine lord recruit more followers!

Luo Wei was very satisfied with how cooperative the dark elf was. "Best if you come with me today."

"After we go, you don't need to call me 'My Lord.' Just call me 'Your Highness.'"

"My alias in the mortal world is Luo Wei. The identity I use in the Western Plains is Princess of the Misty Plains, descendant of the Goddess of Life. I'm currently studying magic at a magic academy in the Western Plains."

"Remember all this. Don't slip up if people ask you later."

Descendant of the Goddess of Life?

The divine lord really was a nature god born after the Goddess of Life fell. K was the elven race's miracle!

The dark elf looked excited. "Yes, My... Your Highness! I'll remember!"

Luo Wei nodded, then remembered something and added, "Oh right, I have a blessed follower in the Western Plains named Troy. I've made him captain of my palace guard knights. You'll need an identity too when you go—you can be my princess manor's financial officer."

"Yes, Your Highness." The dark elf felt a bit disappointed.

He'd worshipped the divine lord for five hundred years without becoming K's blessed follower. What abilities did this human named Troy have to be fortunate enough to receive the divine lord's favor?

"What's wrong? Don't like the financial officer position?" Luo Wei noticed his mood shift and asked with concern.

"No," the dark elf shook his head. "Whatever Your Highness grants is best."

"I was just thinking—since your identity in the Western Plains is Princess of the Misty Plains, should we build an elven kingdom here?"

Luo Wei: "An elven kingdom?"

The dark elf explained, "You sent down a divine decree before about building a kingdom here, so I rebuilt Elf City and constructed a palace for you in the city."

"If you're bringing followers here, Elf City can serve as a ready-made royal capital. You can be the princess of the elven kingdom—that way you won't expose your identity."

The divine lord was loving and tolerant. The races K protected weren't just elves—all living beings, including humans, could receive K's blessings.

The Misty Plains were originally elven lands, but now only one elf remained. When humans came, they'd definitely become dominant in the Misty Plains.

Keeping the divine lord's avatar in the elven kingdom meant that when his people revived, the elven race would have more chances to interact with the divine lord and receive more favor.

Out of self-interest, the dark elf made this suggestion to Luo Wei. He felt a bit nervous, uncertain whether she'd agree.

"Elven kingdom," Luo Wei pondered. "Sounds good."

But she'd previously told people her kingdom was called the Mist Kingdom. Changing it to elven kingdom now might raise suspicions.

Actually "Mist Kingdom" wasn't a great name either. "Misty Plains" was what Western Plains people called it—clever people might catch the inconsistency.

After thinking for a while, Luo Wei said to the dark elf, "My avatar is human. The identity of elven princess doesn't suit me. Plus I already told people I'm from the Mist Kingdom. Changing it to elven kingdom... wouldn't be good."

But doubt rose in the dark elf's eyes. "Your Highness, isn't the Mist Kingdom the elven kingdom?"

"How is it..." Luo Wei stopped mid-sentence, suddenly realizing. She looked at the dark elf. "Does 'mist' mean elf in the elven language?"

"Not exactly," the dark elf shook his head. "When the Tree of Life hadn't withered yet, the entire continent was shrouded in clouds and mist, so we also called our lands the Misty Plains."

Only then did Luo Wei realize she'd made a mistake. She'd thought the Misty Plains were called that because of the fog at sea, but it turned out the elves had named the place originally.

Thinking about it carefully, this wasn't surprising.

Misty Plains, Western Plains, the Wastes—all three names followed the same pattern. They clearly came from the same civilization.

Elven lands were misty, so they called it the Misty Plains.

The Magic Beast Continent was west of the Misty Plains, so they changed its name to Western Plains following their own style.

When the human Paradise turned to desert, they called it the Wastes.

Luo Wei shook her head. The elves' naming style really was simple and brutal.

Still, even so, she wouldn't adopt the dark elf's suggestion. She was human, not an elf.

"The Misty Plains don't have to have just one kingdom," Luo Wei looked at the dark elf. "There won't just be an elven kingdom here—there'll also be a beast kingdom and a human kingdom."

"These three kingdoms will collectively be called the Misty Plains Kingdom, or Mist Kingdom for short. When the Time Kingdom descends, the Misty Plains will enter an era of great unification."

"At that time," Luo Wei stamped the ground beneath her feet, "this place will gather all the world's peace-loving intelligent beings and become a land without war or killing!"

The dark elf's heartstrings stirred. A land without war or killing?

The peace-loving elves had once imagined such a thing, but sadly... it had never been realized.

The sun rose higher and higher. Golden light flashed on the mountains across from the alchemy town. The rippling river surface seemed to flow with golden sand.

As the sun rose over the Misty Plains, it should be setting in the Western Plains.

Luo Wei and the dark elf went together to the Wind Elf tribe.

Under the towering fir trees, the ancient altar lay quietly.

The dark elf crouched down and placed his palm at the center of the magic runes. Deep, powerful magic flowed into the long-distance teleportation array leading to the Western Plains. White light rose up and quickly engulfed both his and Luo Wei's figures.

...

The white light faded. Luo Wei slowly opened her eyes and looked around, but didn't see Loren.

Her heart sank. Had the dark elf not teleported over?

The magic stones embedded in the teleportation array were dim and colorless, nearly gray-white—meaning their magic was exhausted.

But the magic runes on the ground hadn't lit up, which meant these magic stones plus her magic combined still weren't enough to activate the array.

Luo Wei frowned deeply. If the array hadn't activated, how had she gotten to the Misty Plains?

Or was everything that just happened only her imagination?

Luo Wei stared at the ground for a long time, then crouched down and tried injecting magic into the array.

The moment her palm touched the ground, she realized her magic was completely drained too.

She stood up, turned, and quickly walked to the basement exit, reaching out to pull open the hidden door.

Troy was still standing guard outside. Seeing her emerge, he stepped back. "Your Highness."

"How long was I in there?"

Troy thought for a moment and estimated, "About an hour."

An hour—that was right when she'd finished drawing the magic runes and was preparing to activate the array.

"Come on, let's go outside and look around."

Luo Wei walked quickly out of the passage to the villa's main hall, her dark eyes looking toward the window.

The sun hadn't set yet. Troy wasn't lying—she really had only been in there an hour.

What the hell was going on?

The scenes she'd seen in the Misty Plains were so real. She couldn't believe they were just hallucinations.

Luo Wei pressed her lips together. Could it be she'd seen the future again, or traveled to the future?
