Chapter 1392 67: Invitation from the Fede Alliance (Part 2)

"Electromarrow Species," Tilan whispered the name softly, recalling the Fifth Epoch civilization Lindsay had mentioned. It seemed that no matter the era, electricity was always a necessity, and they could always quickly revive.

The plane passed over the grasslands, and below began to show patches of forest trees. The plane then climbed along the mountain range, as the air gradually turned cold.

As they delved into the mountains, clouds spread below, and some mountain tops still held patches of unmelted snow. After about three hours of flight, Tilan watched as the plane turned into a large valley. As the altitude continually dropped, they first dove into the mist and then emerged, revealing a winding river below. A city sprawled across the valley's plains, with many newly planted crops visible outside the city.

The plane swooped over the fields and slowly descended, finally landing softly on the ground, showcasing the pilot's skill.

Once Tilan's plane touched down, two escort fighters also landed one after another. Afterwards, she and Sura disembarked from the plane.

"Welcome, Your Highness Hexia," a tall and plump figure leading a group of followers came from beyond the runway to greet them.

He wore a white robe and stood about 2.3 meters tall, needing to tilt his head slightly to greet Tilan, his accent somewhat thick.

Looking up and down, Tilan suppressed her shock, for the man had a toad-like head and a body resembling an enlarged toad, with webbed hands.

"Hello," the young woman nodded while stepping back half a step. Though somewhat impolite, she wasn't eager to get too close to the other.

"Surprised you, didn't I? This must be your first time seeing a species like mine," he maintained a smiling face while leading the way for Tilan.

"Yes, are you of the Frogborn race?" Tilan inquired.

"Indeed, I belong to the Frogborn race, a rather rare species," he introduced his race as they walked.

"In terms of lineage, we aren't noble. We don't know which brilliant scholar's experiment we originated from, but we are grateful to the scholar who created us, granting us the ability to survive in this world."

"The Fede Alliance is vast, with over a million residents spread across various outposts and settlements, yet our presence is indispensable everywhere. We are purifiers of water and sustainers of life. It is through the sacrifices of our kin that the Fede Alliance continues stably," he proudly introduced.

The Frogborn only need to soak in water to slowly absorb toxic transcendent substances through their skin, concentrating them on their backs to form toxic spores.

This talent ability, though somewhat disgusting to behold, allows heavily polluted lands to gain clean water, sustaining other species, thus his words hold some truth.

Walking down the long road outside the city, approaching the entrance, Tilan could already see two squads of guards standing outside the city gate. They wore steel chest armor and held long spears, with firearms holstered at their waists. With these guards blocking the way, many Fede Alliance residents could only observe from the outskirts.

For many here, the young woman was shrouded in mystery. Few people understood the newly established organization in the south, merely curious why the city's prominent figures would go to such lengths to welcome a seemingly young woman.

"She looks so beautiful."

"Even more beautiful than the city's famous 'Pearl Shelly.'"

"She seems about 17 years old. Whose daughter could she be?"

"However, none of our Alliance's key figures belong to the good-looking species."

"Keep it down; those guards are of the Iron Core Species."

"She's coming over."

Tilan wore a black dress, its edges adorned with intricate floral pleats that signified a certain level of status, yet it was not too ostentatious. Beneath her hair, her eyes shone like clear jewels. As her gaze swept over, she acknowledged the curious onlookers with a slight nod before following the representative into the city.

The streets were paved with massive black tiles as hard as metal. Iron streetlamps lined the sides, and black brick buildings, numbering from three to five stories, were rectangularly shaped. Occasionally, faint humming sounds could be heard from both sides of the street, likely the noise from small machines operating.

This place seemed to be in the early stages of the industrial era, beginning to widely use electric appliances but not steam engines, indicating the planet's coal scarcity forced an early adoption of electrical motors.

Traversing the black brick streets, Tilan met two figures awaiting her on the steps, one tall, one short, their contrast evident. One was of the Iron Core Species, the tall, thin one of the Electromarrow Species.

"Lady Hexia, a pleasure to meet you," greeted the Iron Core species member, who wore a steel armor with golden patterns. He exuded steadiness and a commanding aura when he stepped forward.

"This is 'Ironbeard King' Hardlin," the Frogborn representative introduced Tilan.

"Hello, I am Hexia of the Chasing Star Covenant," Tilan replied simply, refraining from the multitude of accolades others often bestowed upon her, like 'Frozen Night Queen,' 'Lord of the Holy Sword,' and 'Black Skirt Lady.'

"Greetings, I am Angor, current advocate of the Electromarrow Species," the other Electromarrow Species man modestly introduced himself. His fingers were long, skin sallow, and deep-set eyes, as if a gust could blow him away.
